LORENZ, Dorothy M., 86, died March 14, 2000. Mother of Alice (Terry) Ingram, of Tucson, Alan (Betty) Lorenz of McKinney, TX and Nancy (Jim) Sutherland of Brookfield, CT. Seven grandchildren also survive. Memorial service 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2000 with Rev. Scott Richards officiating. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

RAUL DAVID MATAS, 48, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 8, 2000. He was born March 10, 1951.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth C. Cruz; brothers, Roy (Rosalina) Matas, Danny Matas, Raymond (Gail) Ortiz; and sisters, Amelia (C.M.) Witty and Ruth Miranda.
Visitation will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS on Thursday, March 16 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 17 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Hope cemetery. MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS, 547-3400.

Douglas H. McKelvie, Born March 15, 1927 in Collbran, CO, died March 14, 2000 in Tucson, AZ. Survived by wife of 49 years, Sara; children, Steve of Broomfield, CO., Carolyn McKelvie (Jim) Cullen, M.D. of Las Vegas, NV, Sam of Seattle, WA; brothers, Tom of Gunnison, CO, Donald of Bountiful, UT, Burton of Garden Grove, CA, and Byron of Cortez, CO. He served in the U.S. Navy 1944 to 1946. A graduate of CSU, receiving his B.S. in 1950 and his D.V.M. in 1952. He received his Ph.D. in 1968 in comparative pathology from UCD. He taught Veterinary Medicine at CSU from 1968-1974. Associated with the U of A College of Medicine as Director of Animal Care and Associate Professor of Pathology from 1974, retiring in 1989. Dr. McKelvie was a member of the AVMA from 1948 to present, serving as a delegate to the House of Delegates for five years. He was a member of the American Society of Laboratory Animal Practitioners (Past President); American Assoc. of Zoo Veterinarians; Am. Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists; AZ Vet. Med. Assoc. (1968-1989) and an honorary member of AZ VMA from 1989 to present. Diplomat of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine since 1967. A member of El Camino Baptist Church and a Docent at the Reid Park Zoo of Tucson. Memorial service 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, with Rev. Russell J. Marshall, officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Reid Park Zoo.

MORRIS, William Eric (Bill), died March 11, 2000. Bill suffered a massive heart attack on February 21 and recuperated to a degree at the UA Medical Center. He was released on March 10 to home care. He had a second heart attack at approximately 9:30 a.m. on March 11, 2000 at home, and died a little later at the emergency room at UA Medical Center. Bill is survived by his father, Glen J. Morris; stepmother, Charlotte; and his brother, Walter Morris, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, (his mother, Linda, preceded him in death 11 years ago); and his loving companion of 15 years, Gail Schuessler and her daughter, Leslie and son, Michael, to whom he was a father. Bill spent his entire professional career as a lawyer in the Southern Arizona Legal Aid Society and later the Arizona Justice Institute. He was a tireless champion of the rights of the poor and impoverished. His many accomplish- ments were summarized earlier this week in newspaper articles locally and nationally. He was respected and loved by his colleagues and co-workers, and most of all by his family. His mother, Linda, was a major source of his strength and determination. A memorial service will be held at Tucson High School auditorium at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Arizona Justice Institute, 33 N. Stone Ave., Tucson, in Bill's name is suggested. 'Farewell Will. The world is a better place because of your efforts. We will love and miss you always.' CHRIS NEFF, age 77, passed away peacefully and with dignity on March 12, 2000. Survived by Marilyn, devoted wife and best friend for 59 years; beloved son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Susan, grandson, Chris. He was in sales and marketing for 43 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf, was a member of Sun City Vistoso Men's Golf Club. All who knew him will miss his great smile and outstanding personality. The family wishes to thank all of his caregivers for their tender loving care. Private Service will be held at a later date. Victor 'Vatito' Rico, Jr. III, 25, of Tucson, born August 12, 1974, passed away March 14, 2000. Survived by his beloved sons, Jordan and Zachary of Michigan; father, Victor Jr. of Chandler; mother, Margie (Tito); brothers, Gilbert (Lydia), Bobby (Chandler); and beloved nephew, Gilbert Jr.; grandmother, Gloria Garcia. preceded in death by grandparents, Victor Rico Sr., Artemisa Munoz Rico and Arnulfo M. Garcia.
Victor will be loved and missed dearly by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels on Friday, March 17, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Hope cemetery in Tucson.

ROBBINS, Thomas J., 41, died March 14, 2000. Son of Grace Attore and loving stepdad, Mike Attore; brother of Don Robbins, Mary Spurgiesz and Patricia (John) Corlew, all of Tucson. RODRIGUEZ, Nora B., 85, of Tucson, died March 10, 2000. Active member of the Filippino-American Community. Wife of Don of Tucson; mother of Jose Egea of Las Vegas; Edmund B. Rodriguez of Tempe, AZ; Don J. Rodriguez of San Jose, CA; and Howard B. Rodriguez of Tucson; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister of Florence B. Metler of Oregon. SCHMID, Audrey A., 83, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away March 10, 2000. Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2000 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary and cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road, Tucson Arizona. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the music department of El Camino Baptist Church, 7777 E. Speedway, Tucson, AZ 85710, a ministry that was an important part of Audrey's life. Audrey was preceded in death by father, mother, and brother. She is survived by brothers, Arthur A. Schmid, of Chicago, and Lee D. Schmid, of Phoenix; and sister-in law, Joan Schmid, of Sun City West; and many nieces and nephews.

BAKER, Don Marshall, was born October 7, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Marshall and Katherine Baker. He is a graduate of Albion College and Garrett School of Theology at Northwestern University.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lonsdale Baker; his daughters, Martha Baker Baum and Mary Buckelew; and his son, Don (Bucky) Baker II and his wife, Jodi. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Austin, Amy and Matthew Baum; John, Brian and Jillian Buckelew; Davis and Tyler Baker; and by his brother, Phil of Laguna Niguel, California.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Ann Baker.
Don began serving United Methodist churches throughout Michigan in 1955 until a move to Tucson in 1970 where he served the Catalina United Methodist Church.
He was co-founder of Baker, Peterson, Baker and Associates, Inc., real estate appraisers and consultants in 1974 until his retirement in 1996. He was a frequent lecturer on residential appraisal theory and technique, a state-approved instructor in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, and taught at the University of Arizona. He was the past President of the Tucson Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers.
He was the past President of the Southern Arizona Aquatic Association where he introduced procedures which are used today to provide summer swimming activities for hundreds of children.
He was the volunteer coordinator for the Emergency Department at University Medical Center, where he wrote the Orientation and Procedure Manual and taught the orientation class for volunteers.
He was an active member of St. Philip's In The Hills Episcopal Church where heco-directed the Yes to The Future campaign for the building of the new Music and Childrens' Center, served on the Vestry and as Senior Warden. He assisted in worship, led staff retreats and taught classes, most recently the 'At the Well' course. He also served on several committees of Tucson Metropolitan Ministries.
A Memorial Service at St. Philip's In The Hills (located at the northeast corner of River Road and Campbell Avenue) will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2000 at 2:30 p.m.
Memorials may be designated in Don Baker's name to St. Philip's In The Hills (Box 65840, Tucson, Arizona 85728) or Tucson Metropolitan Ministry (3127 E. Adams St., Tucson, Arizona 85716).

Joseph D. Barone, 61, born May 21, 1938, in The Bronx, passed away March 14, 2000. He lived in the same house in the Tanque Verde Community since 1947, having moved there with his parents from New York City. He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Stephens) Barone; sons, Tim (Cherri) and Matt; daughters, Teresa (Jamie) Jameson, and Veronica (Randy) Fisher. Also survived by his six grandchildren, Colette Barone, Tyler, Troy and Jolyn Jameson, Andrew Barone and Baby Fisher. Also his mother, Mary Barone. Joe was a man of many accomplishments from being one of the best mechanics in Tucson, the creator and developer of Barone Sausages, to currently being a much in demand remodeling and new construction contractor. Joe loved his community and combined this and his love of children devoting many years as a 4-H leader and coaching girl's softball.
He included a love of community history among his many interests. The Tucson Business Women wish to assist the Friends of Agua Caliente in establishing a memorial fund to benefit the Friends of Agua Caliente historical and preservation projects. BARRINGER, Joe R., 70, of Amado, passed away on March 13, 2000. He was born September 2, 1929 in Tubac, AZ. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; three sons, Robert, Mark and Joey; three daughters, Dina, Brenda and Corina; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a eulogy at 7:00 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church, Tubac, AZ. Burial will follow at Tubac cemetery. Arrangements made by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

DORSEY, Adam, age 30, of Tucson, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2000. He is survived by his fiancee, Maria Nicholson of Tucson; son, Caleb Dorsey of Oxford, Mississippi; parents, Robert and Carol Dorsey; grandparents, Earl and Virginia Dorsey of Tucson; and Glynn and Lois Burkhardt of Tucson; and many loving friends and family. Adam loved bicycling and motorcycling and achieved world class recognition in both sports. Adam celebrated the natural world and loved the Sonoran desert. His life was a celebration of the world he loved. A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2000 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. FRANA, Shirley L., 70, died March 15, 2000 from complications of a stroke. Survived by children, Valerie (Sam R.) Levitz of Tucson and Frank A. Frana III of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Lindsay, Amber, and Robert Levitz, and John Frana; step-grandchildren, Sande Levitz and Elissa (Marvin) David; brother, William E. (Margaret) Morris; nephew, Bill Morris; and niece, Michelle (Daniel) Herrera. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2000 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms cemetery beside her husband, Frank who preceded her in death November 1988.

GASTELLUM, Luis A., age 84, met his 'Tee' time with our heavenly Father on March 14, 2000 at home surrounded by his immediate family. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Agatha; beloved daughters, Marie Martin (John), Gloria Rapp, Frances Rutherford (Larry); beloved sons, Ed (Carolyn), Steve (Karman), Ben, and Richard (Debby); 17 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Luis Gastellum was known for his enthusiastic love of the National Park Service, which he served with honors, receiving the Distinguished Service Award, the highest award given to an employee working for the Department of the Interior. He started his career in 1935 and retired from the National Park Service in 1973. He started his career as Chief Clerk at Casa Grande National Monument and worked at Grand Canyon National Park, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, the Washington Office twice, the Southwest Regional Office twice and was Deputy Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park. He had several overseas assignments which included being a US representative for the Department of Commerce as a PR man promoting Visit USA, Caracas, Venezuela in cooperation with the Department of Tourism, United States Agency for International Development, and was designated the official representative of the US Government as an observer with the Chilean expedition to Antarctica for the 1961-1962 period which was a highlight of his career.
In retirement, Luis served in many volunteer capacities serving on the Southwest Parks and Monument Association Board where he received the Edward Danson Distinguished Associate Award. He served on the Boards of the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, the Rolling Hills Golf Course and the Men's Garden Club. He also served as a volunteer for the Yaqui Indians, St. Vincent de Paul Society and he was a Eucharistic minister.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 17 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2000 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
