DIANE S. LENT, 68, died at home in Modesto, CA, March 25, 2000. She was born in Chicago, IL on June 15, 1931 and grew up in Tucson. She was a graduate of Tucson High School in 1949 and the U. of A. in 1953. In addition to Tucson, Diane lived in Phoenix, Hawaii and for the past 13 years in Modesto, CA.
Diane was actively involved in many civic organizations during her years in Modesto. She was a board member of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra 1989-2000, the Association of California Symphony Orchestras 1995-1999, the McHenry Mansion Foundation 1988-1994, and the Salvation Army Advisory board 1998-1999. While a member of the Modesto Symphony Board, Diane encouraged programs designed to reach out to all facets of the Modesto Community. She served as President of the Board for two terms, 1995-1997. She also served as the Symphony Guild President in 1992-1993. Diane and her family recently established an endowment to support the Symphony's educational and family programming.
Diane is survived by her husband, J. Gorden Lent of Modesto; daughters Lia Lent of Little Rock, AR, Sally Ho of Honolulu, HI, Lori Lent of Moraga, CA, Jane Hinrichs of Honolulu, HI, Stacy Lent of Modesto, and 8 grandchildren. Her Tucson relatives include sister-in-law Barbara (Vernor) Lovett, and nieces Kathy (Bill) Martinez and Virginia (Larry) Mann.
A service was held in Modesto on March 30. A Memorial Service will be held in Tucson in June 2000. The time and date will be announced later.

DONALD ANDREW MACDONALD V, 72, of Sierra Vista, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2000 at his home. He has been an area resident for the past 60 years.
Don was born March 9, 1928 in Glasgow, Scotland to Donald and Mary Macdonald, the IV. He attended Amphi High School in Tucson. He served in the US Navy in WWII. He was a 35 year member of the local 741 Plumber and Steam Fitters Union where he worked on almost every major building in the Tucson area. He retired in Sierra Vista where he became a volunteer Forest Ranger. He received numerous commendation for service hours for the US Dept. of Agriculture in Washington.
Donald is survived by his wife, Shirley of Sierra Vista; daughters, Donna Capanna and Barbara (Joe) Ahee; son, Donald (Terri) Macdonald, VI; sister-in-law, Karen Keppel; stepmother, Ella Macdonald; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held Monday, April 3, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hatfield Memorial Chapel. Following Services there will be a celebration of Don's life at lower Carr Cannon. Arrangements are by the Hatfield Funeral Home, Inc., Sierra Vista, Arizona.
ADOLFINE ROSENAUER RAMIREZ
April 20, 1938 – March 30, 2000
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away in Tucson, Arizona after a long battle with cancer. Adi was born in Vienna, Austria. After marrying her husband, Joe, she moved to Tucson in 1957. Adi was a homemaker, raising four children. In 1987, she and her husband opened the Austrian/ German restaurant Bratwursthaus. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joe; sons, Joseph and Samuel of Tucson, Alfred of Mesa; daughter, Helga of Arizona City; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Lehner of Sipbachzell, Austria, Anna Olsen of Tucson, Erna Schorghuber of Wels, Austria and a brother, Josef Rosenauer of South Africa. Adi was a hard working, determined and generous individual. She loved flowers, plants, the outdoors and traveling. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road. A visitation will take place on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Committal will take place in East Lawn Palms cemetery.
RAUL L. ROMERO, 57, Retired Battalion Chief, died March 29, 2000.
Raul graduated from Pueblo High School in 1961. He served briefly in the United States Navy. He joined the Tucson Fire Dept. in 1965 and served his community for 28 years. He retired as Battalion Chief in charge of training. Raul became president of the Jenkins Mattress Corp. in 1993. He was an active member in the Catholic Church and served God as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of various curcillo groups.
Raul was preceded in death by his father, Augustine Romero. Survived by mother, Esther Romero; wife, Minnie Romero; sons, Augustine (Eydie) and Michael (Cristina) Romero; daughters, Kim (Brad) Senska, Monica (Jorge) Martinez and Andrea Gastelum; grandchildren, Alexa, Karina and Marco Martinez; siblings, Nancy (Phil) Figueroa, Irene (Robert) Cortez, Oscar (Joanne) Romero and Becky (Byron) Watson. Also survived by his many nieces, nephews, loving friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 02, 2000 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, April 03, 2000, 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, 801 N. Grande Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery.

She is survived by her brother, Charles P. Ackermann and his wife, Marjorie, both of Mequon, Wisconsin; grandson, Benjamin W. Sims of Tucson; great-granddaughter, Chantele Sims of Tarija, Bolivia; niece, Sara Lynn Sanders of Auburn, California, and other relatives and many friends.
Sandi, as she was known to all, loved dance as much as life. She brought light into the lives of those who knew her, and always placed their concerns above her own.

CONARRO, Rease Wayne, SMSgt, USAF, Retired, Born January 1, 1920 near Stillwater, OK. Died March 31, 2000 in Tucson, AZ.
Rease left for his heavenly home last Friday afternoon with family members at his side. A kind and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be remembered fondly and lovingly. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane; daughter, Janice (Dennis) Conners; beautiful granddaughters, Eileen and Lisa; son, Michael (Noreen) Conarro; and brother, Dean Conarro. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Lois and Beatrice; brother, Charles; and grandson, Daniel Michael.
Rease grew up on his family's Okla- homa farm near Pawnee, OK and enlisted into the US Army Air Corps in April of 1941 at Kelly AAF base TX. He retired at Davis-Monthan AFB from the United States Air Force in September 1971 as an aircraft maintenance senior Non-Commissioned Officer. His military career led him from New Guinea in WWII, through Korea and Europe with several assignments to bases within the US. After retiring from the Air Force, Rease was employed at Evergreen Air Center in Marana and later at Gates Learjet in Tucson. After finishing his civilian career, he and his wife maintained a summer cabin residence near Pinetop, AZ and wintered at their Tucson home.
His joys in life were devotion to his family members and church family at Golf Links Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, usher and deacon. A man of the soil, Rease toiled many hours tending the vegetable gardens and citrus trees at his Tucson home. Rease liked to watch spring training baseball games in Tucson and enjoyed long rides and walks through southern Arizona. He particularly like to hunt quail and white-tailed deer and welcomed many sunrises on a desert or oak covered hilltop.
'Pop' and 'Pappa' will be deeply missed as a dear and loyal husband, father and friend. We all cherish the time when we'll be united once again through God's love and grace.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, April 4, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Visitation one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baptist Home Missions, c/o Golf Links Baptist Church, 6902 E. Golf Links Rd., Tucson, AZ 85710. It was Rease's desire that all men choose to trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior–Acts 16:31.
