FALEWITCH, Marjorie H., 71, passed away April 22, 2000. She is preceded in death by Arthur Schoppe, Alfred Falewitch and daughter, Suzanne Barnett. Survivors include three children, Mary (Thomas) Losee, Alfred (Denise) Falewitch, and John (Chris) Falewitch; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald and Arthur Jaegers; one sister, Lorrainne Reddish.
Marjorie was a devoted mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dignita Hospice and Life Care Center of Tucson for all their loving care and support.
Visitation Tuesday evening at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. at St. Odilla Church. Burial following at Holy Hope cemetery.

He was born in Greenup, Kentucky. Living his early days with his mother Cora, and his eight brothers and sisters in Ohio. He was a Naval WWII veteran. Met and married
June in 1947. Moved to Tucson in 1961, making and helping many friends that lived in his apartments. He was dearly loved by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Survived by wife of 53 years, June; son, Ronald (Michelle); daughter, Linda (Lou); grandchildren, Rachel (Joe), Ralph (Kelli), Rhonda (Jimmy), Joey, Bobby, Debby, & Kelly; great-grandchildren, Karli, Ryan, Brenda, Karen, & Brea; two brothers, Clyde (Norma) & Charles; two sisters, Christine and Louise (Dale); many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held at EAST LAWN cemetery on Wednesday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m. Please join us after the service at the Jordan residence.
Harold E. Kosanke, M.D., age 84, of Tucson, passed away April 21, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucy Jo; sons, Raymond (Danielle) of Mission Hills, CA; Peter (Terry) of Tucson, AZ., and Jeffrey (Jody) of Tucson, AZ.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Harold and Lucy came to Tucson in 1944 where he began his practice of internal medicine at the Tucson clinic in 1945, which continued until his retirement in 1974. Harold served as Past President of the YMCA Youth Foundation, the Tucson Clinic, the Arizona Tuberculosis and Health Association, the Southern Arizona Heart Association, the Arizona Lung Association, and the Arizona Trudeau Society. Harold was an Honorary Staff Member of both Tucson Medical Center and St. Mary's Hospital and also an Honorary Lifetime Member of the YMCA. A memorial service will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 830 N. First Ave., Tucson, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2000. JOE NICKERSON - Joseph M. Nickerson, 74, passed away April 22, 2000. Born in Ohio on March 28, 1926 and moved to Tucson in 1973. WHATLEY, Leon Arizona mining exploration pioneer dies at 72. Leon Whatley, the innovative and charismatic owner and founder of Whatley Drilling Company, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at his home in North Tucson. Mr. Whatley, a Colorado native, came to Arizona in 1963. He played a major role in the mineral resource development of the Western United States, especially in Arizona. He was widely regarded as the man who could get the job done in the most difficult and challenging situations. He is survived by his two daughters, Terry of Tucson and Dalice of Menlo Park, CA; and his son, Mitch of Dallas, Texas. Three grandchildren also survive. Private services have been held. AUBUCHON, Edward L., Jr., 79, died April 23, 2000 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a WWII veteran and a retired Metallurgist and a member of the American Legion.
Edward is the father of Anne and Leanne; grandfather of Heather, Victoria, Steve, Tony, Rachel, Juliette and great-grandfather of Robert, Jasmine, Daniel and Hailey.

CALLAWAY, Jewel Crawford, was born in 1906 in Hornsby, Tennessee to Albert and Sarah Crawford and died peacefully in Tucson, Arizona on April 20, 2000.
Jewel Crawford graduated first in her class from high school in Bolivar, Tennessee and held degrees in nursing from the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She married
E. Farris Callaway in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1938 and moved to Tucson in 1948. In Tucson, she was a member of the nursing staffs of the Veteran's Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, and the Tucson Medical Center. She practiced private duty nursing in Tucson for many years before retiring in 1970.
She is survived by her three children, William H. (Kay) Callaway and Charles Edmund (Marie) Callaway, and Barbara Jean Callaway (Irwin) Pollack of Princeton, New Jersey; and grandchildren, Chad, Logan and Kendra of William Callaway and Stella, Teresa, Linda, Joseph and Tom of Charles Callaway. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, descendants of her late ten brothers and sisters.
She was a strong and independent woman, who delighted in riding the buses across Tucson and walking many miles each day in the desert. She loved the sunsets and the mountains, and for many years grew roses in her yard. For the last twelve years of her life, she lived in the Blossum Inn Adult Care Home in Tucson, where she delighted the staff with her strong will, great dignity, and gentle spirit. She was dearly loved and will be missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at Blossum Inn and Carondelet Hospice for their special care.
Funeral and burial arrangements are through the East Lawn Memorial cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blossum Inn Adult Care Home in Tucson.
CRAWFORD, Michael, 74, of Tucson, AZ, died April 22, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Therese Wende of Tucson, AZ; Stephen (Lydia) of Waukegan, IL; Kathleen of Bloomington, IL; his grand- children, Daniel (Elizabeth), Cassandra, Michael and Jennifer, and William, Elspeth and Michael Crawford; sister, Helen (Tim) Marsh of Shelbyview, TN. Mike served in the Navy in WWII and in the Airforce in the Korean War. He retired from Abbott Laboratory. He was a well loved husband, father, grandfather and brother to all. CUVELIER, Dr. Patricia R. (Swan), born March 9, 1928 to Ethel and Frank Steel, Sr. in Chicago, Illinois. Predeceased by parents and brother, Frank W. Steel and late husband, Wayne E. Swan, Sr. Survived by husband, Orlo V. Cuvelier; sons, Wayne E. Swan, Jr. (Donna) and Ward S. Swan; five grandchildren, Anthony, William, Alexander, Jason and Ashley; stepsons, Verlan Cuvelier (Patricia) and Keith Cuvelier (Kathi) and five step grandchildren, Kenneth, Kari, Kristin, Debbie and Lisa.
Patricia had a fulfilling career where she taught elementary school children for many years at Holinger Elementary and retired from Reynolds Elementary school in Tucson. She held a Doctorate in Education and a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Arizona. She was active in the Tucson Education Association where she served as Secretary and Representative.
She was the Past President of Elks Lodge 2532 Lady's Auxiliary and was very active along with her husband in the Elks Organization.
Patricia was also a charter member Lutheran Church of the King and the Body of Christ Free Lutheran Church where she loved and served her Lord and her fellow church members. She had the gift of a remarkable voice that sang hymn and folk song a-like for her many listeners. She loved her Family and Friends and we are all better off for the opportunity to know her and to love her.
Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Spanish Trail Lutheran Church, 8701 E. Old Spanish Trail, with Pastor Roy Guinn officiating. Burial to follow in TMP East Lawn. HEIN, Gladys M., 93, born September 13, 1906 in Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed away April 25, 2000 in Tucson, AZ. A resident of Tucson for the past seven years. She is survived by her son, Jerry Walkens; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. JEWELL, Florence Martin, 97, of Tucson, passed away April 20, 2000. She is survived by daughters, LaVonne (Roosevelt) Benson of Tucson, and Mary Helen McCollins of El Cerrita, CA; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; brother, Bishop James (Ethel) Benefield of Vision church of God & Christ of LA, CA; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Eleven brothers and sisters; and four grandchildren preceded her in death. Florence was a member of the Eastern Star and Daughter of Isis Scimitar Court 120, and a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, at ARIZONA MORTUARY UNIVERSITY CHAPEL. Funeral services will be at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 28th with burial at Evergreen cemetery.
