HAEGER, Leila Gladys, passed away May 15, 2000. Born October 27, 1911. preceded in death by husband, Otto E. Survived by sons, Ernie (Chris), Larry (Robin) and Allen (Diane); grandchildren, Eric, Penny, Heather, Sandy and Samantha; brother, Ralph (Geri) Allison. Mrs. Haeger was a retired teacher whose loving care touched over thousands of young children in over 40 years of teaching Headstart, kindergarten and first grade including 20 years with Tucson Unified School District. She started her career as a teacher in a one room school house in Iowa. Friends and family alike turned to her for support, comfort, wisdom and love. She will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 19 at 7pm at American Evangelical Lutheran Church, 115 N. Tucson Blvd.

BLAIR W. SAYLOR - Born March 24, 1915 in Rockwood, PA and passed away on May 12, 2000. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert, and is survived by his wife, Thelma; son, Randall (Linda) of Sierra Vista; daughter, Sandra Lee Grenier of Tucson, Barbara Young (William) of Hampton, VA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Blair graduated from Pennsylvania State College, Thomas Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School with a specialty in Otolaryngology. After serving in the Army during WW II in the US and the European Theatre, he moved to Tucson in 1946. He practiced medicine for 40 years at the Thomas-Davis clinic, frequently serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He loved life, his family and friends, his practice of medicine and his patients. He was an active member of St. Mark's Presbyterian Church. A Memorial Service and celebration of his life will be held at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 3809 E. 3rd St., Saturday, May 20, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 5132 E. STIDHAM, Maryan G., 97, died April 12, 2000. preceded in death by her husbands, Alex J. Thompson and A.B. Stidham, both of Cochise County. Survived by daughter, Ellen (Rai) Quimby and son, Alex S. (Mary K.) Thompson, both of Tucson; grandchildren, Chuck (Katy) Quimby, Bill (Diane) Quimby, Jim Quimby, Allen S. She was a longtime resident of Cochise County and a resident of Tucson since 1987. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education at University of California-Berkeley in 1924. GEORGE RAYMOND WILSON died May 15, 2000 of pneumonia and associated complications. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Kaiser Wilson; and grandson, Carlton Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wade Wilson of Tucson; sons, John (Natalie) Wilson of Bloomfield, MI; daughter, Barbara (Hugh) Brennan of Birmingham, MI; grandchildren, Melissa June (Matthew) Bahling, Hugh Freeman (Brenda) Brennan III, Brian Patrick Brennan; great-granddaughter, Katherine Clair Bahling; brothers, Donald (Lucille) Wilson of Downer's Grove, IL, Leonard (Mary) Wilson of St. Charles, IL, Norman Wilson of Phoenix, AZ; and a valuable sisterin-law, Mrs. Kenneth Wilson of Geneva, IL. George was born in Geneva, IL on October 27, 1914 one of six children of parents who emigrated from Sweden. George graduated as a Valedictorian from his High School, and was also a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan College where he was a Phi Beta Kappa and a member of Phi Delta Theta and ODK. In his business career, he was a member of Aetna Group Schools and Aetna Insurance. The town of Geneva, IL has a walking tour of buildings built by George Wilson's father, Oscar Wilson. The Wilson brothers and sisters-in-law have pavement stones dedicated to them as World War II servers. George R. Wilson served in the Navy in WWII. George was always a beautiful singer, and played in light opera in Ohio as lead role in The Music Man. His homes before Tucson were in Hudson, OH and Grosse Pointe, MI where he performed in light opera groups, as well as a Michigan group of singers known as the Grunyons. He moved to Tucson in 1977, and as a singer, remained active in SALOC. Memorial services will be held for his family in Detroit. Later remembrances are on hold for his many Tucson friends.
