MINER, Leslie Ann, 42, died May 23, 2000 of acute renal failure at Tucson Medical Center. She is survived by her father, Carl D. Miner of Las Vegas, NV; mother, Valerie G. A devout member of the LDS Church, she lived in Tucson since 1971, was a cosmetologist by profession and attained an AA degree from Pima Community College. ACEDO VDA DE IRVING, Jesusita Our Mother, Mama Chuy, was a caring and loving person. She was a mother to all of us because she made no exception in giving of her Loving Spirit. She worked hard all her life, brought us much joy and happiness. We are assured she rests in God's loving arms and someday we will see her again.
She joined our Lord on May 22, 2000. Born on November 16, 1901 in Bacubirito, Sin. Mexico. preceded in death by her husband, Richard John Irving; daughter, Ruth I. Peterson; and two sons, Jesus and Raymundo Cuevas. She lived in Arizona since 1935. She is survived by six daughters, Lupe Romero, Rosario Felix, Elisa Robbins, Roberta Schweich, Olga I. Montejano (Henry G. Montejano), Virginia Corella (Herbert Spratt); 58 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. DEVITT, Michael, born January 12, 1941, formerly of Devitt's Camp, Allenwood, PA, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. He had been in failing health for several years. He was the son of the late Dr. William Devitt and Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Krauser Devitt. His late grandfather was the founder of Devitt's Camp. Mr. Devitt graduated from Ft. Meyers Senior High School, FL, and the University of Florida. He was retired from the Pima County Dept. of Environmental Quality. Surviving are his former wives, Christa Devitt, Ruth Ofstie Paulding; brothers, Bill, Steve, Jack; sons, Michael Brendan Devitt, Mathew Alan Devitt, Stefan Andre Devitt; and grandson, Will Devitt. RICHARD JAMES FLANAGAN, 72, passed away on May 19, 2000. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Colleen and Pat of Phoenix, AZ; son, Mike (Linda); loving grandchildren, Casey and Michelle all of Tucson; sister, Connie Kelly of Willowick, OH; and many other friends and family members.
In 1976, Richard moved his family from Euclid, OH to Tucson. He owned Jim's Cleaning Service in Tucson until he retired several years ago. He suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis for the last 20 years but he never let it dampen his spirit. He was a tough-minded, independent man who possessed a quick wit and was the master of practical jokes. His passing has left a huge void in our lives, but we are all happy that his pain has ended.
Richard requested that no funeral services be held and that everyone remember the good times and the laughs they shared with him. Donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 616 N. Country Club, Tucson, AZ 85716.
RAYMOND PATRICK FORD, SR. - passed away May 24, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Kristin; son, Justin; and in-laws Jim and Maxine Ijams. He is also survived by four sons from a previous marriage, Andre, Juan, Junior and Reggie; as well as several grandchildren. Additional survivors are siblings, Horace, Pearl, Elma, and Auburn. Raymond was a dedicated employee of the Pima County Sheriff's Department for 17 years, as well as volunteering many years of community service to the F.O.P., and the Victim Witness Compensation Board. PALMER, Clyde H., Age 72, passed away peacefully May 20, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; and children, Clyde, Kevin, John and (Jackie) Jacquelyn; and one granddaughter, Margaret. Clyde was an elevator constructor in Tucson for more than 30 years, and he had been a veteran of the Army-Merchant Marine and National Guard. DALRYMPLE, Philip C., 87, of Tucson, passed away on March 25, 2000. He was born on May 13, 1913 in Toulon, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ireta; three brothers and one sister. He was the proprietor of Tucson Dog Food Co. for 33 years and had a passion for farming. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, family man and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
