NICOLAS D. GARCIA, 83, went to be with the Lord Friday, June09, 2000. He was born March 05, 1917 in Tucson.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Del Carmen; daughters, Irene Garcia Bernardi and Tina Garcia; son, Jeremy Garcia; stepchildren, Pat Gonsalves, Donna AlGhurab, Frank O. Castano, Betty (Oscar) Lomeli and Mary Sainz; sisters, Erlinda Gutierrez and Estella Gamez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Apolonio Perez Garcia; and his mother, Luisa Dominguez Garcia; also sisters, Josepha Acosta, Reyes Flores, Maria Luisa Gonsales, and Pauline Lovio; brothers, Apolonio, Epifanio, Tomas, and Juan.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Visitation will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Monday, June 12, 2000 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church with Fr. Dale Branson officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Hope cemetery.

GRADY, Ethyl R., 93, died June 8, 2000. Ethyl had no known survivors. She was a retired Professor of Home Economics from the University of Rhode Island. No Services are planned. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

LIZARRAGA, Ricardo, Rojelio, Jr., 2 days, infant son of Rey and Clara Lizarraga, passed away June 8, 2000. He is survived by his grandparents, Jesus and Celia Lizarraga and Leo and Cecelia Valenzuela; great-grandmother, Dolores Felix; brother, Sergio; and sister, Angelita. A funeral mass will be offered at Santa Cruz Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Arrangements by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

CLEVELAND, Clifford F., Jr., 65, of Tucson died June 9, 2000. Born April 15, 1935 in St. Paul, MN. He was a U.S.M.C. veteran, anda member of Operating Engineers Local #428. Survived by sisters, Coleen Reda of Huntington Beach, CA, R. Gail Thomas of MN. Memorial Service, Thursday, 4:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY & cemetery, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.

IRENE P. ENNIS, 67, of Tucson died June 10, 2000. She was a longtime employee of Sunnyside School District, retiring in 1998 after 25 years. Survived by son, Frank Ennis of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Patricia Hernandez, Barbara Khatoun, Tracey Gomez, all of Tucson; sister, Stella Standowski of Tucson; brother John Standowski of Lakewood, N.J.; grandchildren, Yasmin, Hanan, Zaynab. preceded in death by son, Kenneth Pacansky; and brothers, Richard and Frank Standowski. Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., St. Monica Church, 212 W. Medina Rd. Interment Our Lady of the Desert cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia Society in memory of Irene P. MILDRED GRETA GROTY, 89, of Tucson, passed away June 2, 2000. She is survived by a brother, L. Rodman (Jane) Johnson of Palm Coast, FL; a sister, Beryl Sigmon of Shalimar, FL; a niece, Sharon (James) Cook of MD; nephews, Donald (Carol) Johnson of TN and Richard (Jan) Johnson of GA; a sister-in-law, Betty G. Newton of Tucson. A celebration of Mrs. Groty's life will take place, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2000 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Oro Valley, with Rev. Susan Sauerberg, Associate Pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greta Groty Memorial Fund, C/O Resurrection Lutheran Church, 11575 N. 1st Ave., Oro Valley, AZ 85737.

HISEY, Zina M., 42 years old died Sunday, June 11, 2000 in Tucson. Born on December 12, 1957 in Roswell, New Mexico. Survived by the love of her life, Robert Dikinis; two sons, Joseph A. (Melissa) Destito, Jeffrey Hisey; mother, Mary Madrid; four brothers, Robert Silva, Charles Soto, Alfred (Marie) Soto, Richard Madrid; sister, Trudy (Mark) Delarosa; grandson, Joseph G. Destito; many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2000, 7:00 p.m. at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway. HOMME, Orlando K., died June 11, 2000. He is survived by his wife Elaine; daughters, LeAnne (Samuel) Dukes, Lynn (Bruce) Reid, and Jan (Wayne) Reid; step-children, Laurie Cude, Mark (Carole) McCourt and Rick (Rebecca) McCourt; seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Dorothy Rose, his loving wife of 50 years. He was loved for his quiet, disciplined manner and will be greatly missed.

METEER, Wilma Morton, 88, of Tucson, passed away June 8, 2000. She was bornin Springfield, IL and has lived in Tucson since 1948. She was predeceased by her husband, William A. Meteer in 1991. She leaves no relatives. Mrs. Meteer requested that there be no services. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & cemetery.

Michael Simon Mickey 'Big Mike' Ortiz, 59, self employed independent truck driver, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 11, 2000. He was born September 16, 1940 in Tucson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; his mother, Jessie Ortiz; sons, Michael D. (Dian) Ortiz, Daniel P. (Clara) Ortiz, Matthew C. Ortiz; brothers, Ernest (Mary Helen), Victor (Jeanne) Ortiz; grandchildren, Michael D. II, Michele, Katrina, Edward and Krystal, Kole J.; also many cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Simon Ortiz. Also by many, many, cousins, nephews and nieces. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He served in the Marines during Cuban Crisis, having attained the rank of Lance Corporal. He was a member of The Marine Corp League. Visitation will be held at Our Lady Queen of All Saints on Tuesday, June 13 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints. DONALD RIVERS - Retired Detroit businessman, passed away June 11 in Tucson, Arizona after a long illness. Don is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughters Paula and Laurel Rivers, and son-in-law Steve McConnell of San Francisco, California, and daughter Sharon Chesley and granddaughters Rachel and Jessica of Milford, Michigan, and brothers, Charles and Richard Rivers and their families. Visitation will be from 5pm-9pm Wednesday, June 14, at Northrup-Sassaman Funeral Home, 19091 Northville Road, Northville, Michigan. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 15, at 1pm at Nothrup-Sassaman Funeral Home with internment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, Illinois 60018.

WILD, Ruth Warren, 75, died Saturday, June 10th, 2000 in a Tucson nursing home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Grove Hill cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wild was born in Darlington County the daughter of the late Tolley and Pearl Goodson Warren. She was a retired inspector for a Missile Manufacturing Company and a member of First Church of God.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Wild of Tucson; a daughter, Brenda Truett also of Tucson; five stepchildren, Paul M. Wild of Billings, Montana, Michelle Saye of Alpine, Utah, Farrin J. Wild of American Fork, Utah, Candice Frost of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Kelly M. Wild of Monticello, Utah; a brother, Weldon Warren of Darlington; and two sisters, Edith Cleary of Fayetteville, NC and Blondell Yow of Flint, Michigan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, Southern Arizona Chapter, 5132 E. Pima Street, Tucson, Arizona 85712.

Richard Armando Alvarado, 22, of Phoenix passed away June 11, 2000. We was preceded in death by his father, Albert A. Alvarado; grandparents, Rafaela Bono and Aida Sanchez. Survived by fiance, Melissa M. Alvarado; 13-month-old daughter, Alycia K. Alvarado; mother, Sally Slinker and Matt Slinker; brothers, Michael, Aaron, Kenny, Alex, Eric; and sisters, Kellie and Jessica. Richard was also survived by grandparents, Lena Anaya, Rachael and Kinki Alvarado, Jack and Phyllis Slinker; plus many cousins and dear friends.
Richard was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He was a very strong minded and strong willed individual whose unique character allowed himself to be trusted and admired by all those who were close to him. He was a person who you knew would always be there for you at any expense. He enjoyed baseball and football and had a talent to exceed in everything he set his mind to. He enjoyed time with his family and friends. Richard was a fun loving person who had a genuinely good honest heart. Richard was the kind of individual who touched the lives of many people in a way that he will live on forever in hearts and memories of those who knew him. BATES, Robert Thomas 'Tom' a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew. Born August 18, 1927 passed away June 12, 2000.
Tom began his career as a railroad signal maintainer and retired in 1987 as president of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II; was a member of the Desert Hills Lutheran Church; the Masonic Lodge #112 of Creswell, OR; The Elks Lodge; Scottish Rite; and the Shriner's.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Monte Allen Bates, Sr.; and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth 'Betty' Bates of Green Valley; his mother Elizabeth 'Bess' Bates; a brother, Monte Bates, Jr; and a sister, Helen (Don) Roberts all of southern Oregon; daughters, Martha 'Marti' (Gary) Cohen of Salem, OR, Frances 'Frankie' Jones of Denver, CO, Rebecca 'Becky' (Doug) Wooldridge, of Cheyenne, WY; and grandchildren, Steve Cohen of Spokane, WA, Chris Cohen of Spanaway, WA, Keith (Angela) Wooldridge of Scottsdale, AZ; Elizabeth 'Beth' (Ben) Gray of Laramie, WY, and Carissa 'Carie' Wooldridge of Cheyenne, WY; great-grandson, Jackson Wooldridge of Scottsdale; and his aunt, Billie Currey of Yachats, OR. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2000 at the Green Valley Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Duane Lokken as the officiant.
