Father of Anne Butman of Tucson and Jean Nordberg of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brother of Harry Butman of CA. CUEVAS, Nettie, passed away June 18, 2000 at the age of 73. She was the daughter of John and Annie Zboroluk of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Nettie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Albert Cuevas; her four children, Alice Anne, Mary Jean, Andrea, and William Albert; her grandson, Dash; her sister, Mary Kennedy; and brother, William (Sonny) Zboroluk. Nettie will live on in our hearts and memories for her energetic way of living, compassion, endless generosity, and great sense of humor. Nettie was a devoted wife and mother as well as a very special friend to many. Memorial Service will be held at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. GEHM, Katherine W., 87, of Tucson, passed away Tuesday June 20, 2000. She was a professional writer who wrote for Childcraft Books, Arizona Highways, Copley News Service, UNLV Press, Senior World and hundreds of fiction and non-fiction short stories published internationally. She also taught Business Topics at NE Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO. She is survived by her son, John (Mary) Gehm; granddaughter, Dyanna Gehm, all of Tucson; sister, Frances Moorman of Rochester, MN. Willie Hill, Jr. - Hill, Willie 'Bill', died at his home in Seattle on May 20, 2000. preceded in death by his mother, Harriette Ann Goins Hill, survived by his father, Willie Hill, Sr. of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Oliver Lee (Rita) Hill of Mount Vernon, N.Y. and Gregory Brian (Marilyn) Hill of Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Juanita Yvonne (Joseph) Hill Payton of Kalamazoo, Mich., Lorraine (Leon) Hill Richardson of Tucson, Ariz., and Linda Chyrl (Cressworth) Hill Lander of Tucson, Ariz.; nephews Joseph H. Payton, Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif. and Gregory Brian Hill, II of Tucson, Ariz.; and nieces Nikki S. (Richard) Packard of Tucson, Ariz., and Alanna M. Payton of East Lansing, Mich. Memorial will be Sunday, June 25, 2000, starting at 2:00 p.m. at EVERGREEN cemetery CHAPEL, 3015 N. Oracle Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

William T. 'Bill' Lewis - Born in South Dakota on November 12, 1908, died June 20, 2000 in Tucson. Survived by wife, Donna Key Malone Lewis; step-daughter, Shannon Malone Gagliano; step-son, Derek Malone; his beloved dog, Ceecee; nephews and nieces, Dr. Ada Mae Lewis of IA, Shirley Lewis Parks of SD, Bernadette Lewis Wallace of VA, Audrey Lewis Stenberg of SD, Beverly Lewis Dobbs of SD, Julie Lewis Stumpff of KS, Esther Lewis Hyland of SD, Peggy Lewis Schenker of MO, Tom Lewis of MO, Cheryl Lewis Phillips of MO, Dick Lewis of SD and Jim Lewis of CO. preceded in death by wife, Lucille in 1983; brothers, Lewis Lewis, Clinton, and Reece Lewis. Mr. Lewis moved to Tucson to study law. Rethinking his lifelong ambition, he used the money his father had given him for school to start a business, beginning a lifetime of successful business ventures. He opened his first shoe salon in Tucson in 1934 where he designed high fashion women's shoes. His first Tucson store was located on Congress. His second store opened in 1944 in Phoenix and he was a design consultant for several factories. In 1960 he became interested in oil and gas and in 1963 formed Lewtex Oil and Gas, Graham, TX.

MILLER, Gerald F., went to be with the Lord early June 20, 2000. He was born December 15, 1943 and was the son of the late Fred J. and Viola M. Miller. Gerald was a lifelong resident of Tucson. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963 and served until 1967 when he was honorably discharged. He retired from the Operating Engineers and also worked for the S. S. School District. He is survived by his son, Scott E. (Julie) Miller; four grandchildren, Jamie, Brandon, Chris and Alyssa; a beloved brother, Dale D. (Connie) Miller; grandmother, Henryetta Chase. He also leaves behind nieces, Corissa and Carlene Miller; grandniece, Sarena; aunts and many other loving family members and friends. Gerald will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held in celebration of his life on Saturday, June 24, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL.

PRUITT, L. Edgar Jr., 83 years old, died June 20, 2000, Tuesday in Tucson, formerly of Sonoita, AZ. Survived by his wife, Loeta Pruitt of Tucson; two sons, Rolla E. (Lucina) Pruitt of Sonoita, AZ, Roy (Gail) Pruitt of Tucson; brother, Robert Pruitt of Tucson; sister, Ruth Slightom of Hillsboro, IL; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Margaret. Memorial Services will be held Sunday June 25, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway.

SCHEFFMAN, Fern Virginia, age 80, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000. She is survived by three sons, William H. Scheffman of San Antonia, TX, David T. Scheffman of New York City, NY, and Stephen J. Scheffman of Austin, TX; one daughter, Lisa V. Lindblad of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and by ten grandchildren. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

JAMES ALBERT SCORUP - James A. Scorup was born into life February 27, 1940 and entered into eternity June 21, 2000, after a long battle with cancer.
He was the first-born son of Albert C. Scorup and Shirley H. Scorup.
He attended grade school in Paradox, Colorado, high school in Montrose, Colorado, and attended college in Boulder, Colorado. He received a master's degree from Cornell University at Ithica, NY in food service, and worked in that field for many years.
He has worked as a supervisor for First Data Corporation for the last 10 years.
He was lovingly cared for by his long-time partner and friend Dwayne Pierce of Tucson.
He is survived by his father, Albert C. Scorup of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and his mother, Shirley H. Berg, and by his step father, Maurice L. Berg of Tucson, also by his adopted son, Aaron Scorup of Orem, Utah.
He is also survived by his brother, Peter C. Scorup and his wife Judy of Palmer, Alaska and his sister, Lynn Benefield and her husband Jim of Pleasant Grove, Utah, also by numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His quick wit, sense of humor and his positive attitude brought much joy to those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Armory Park Senior Center at 220 S. 5th Ave.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the Hospice Family Care, Inc., or other charity.

WERESCH, Joseph M., 85, of Tucson. Died June 2, 2000. Husband of Meng (Shelly) Qin of Tucson; father of Michael Weresch of Hinsdale, Illinois, William Weresch of Norcross, Georgia and Dr. Joseph Weresch of West Linn, Oregon; seven grandchildren. Military Memorial Chapel service was held Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Harry Wineinger officiating, at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st. Ave., (888-1111)
In 1992 at the age of 83, Lewis formed his fourth major business, Lewtex Technological Mfg., Inc. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in the mortuary chapel.

Leola Woolison
June 27, 1938 – June 19, 2000
Age 61, known to those who loved her as 'Olie', joined the angels in eternal life on June 19, 2000. Her family and friends continued to be blessed with her presence for 11 years after the onset of cancer. Her courage and strength during her battle will continue to be admired by all. Olie was a good person who gave a lot but asked for little. In her role as an artist and a teacher, she touched literally thousands of lives.
Olie is survived by her loving and supportive husband of 42 years, Ed; daughters, Wendy (Matt) Gosewisch, Laura (Ray) Lancaster; son, Jim (Angie) Woolison; grandchildren, Andrew and Brian Gosewisch, Justin and Ashleigh Woolison, Lindsay and Tyler Lancaster; brothers Lyle (Aileen) Aul, Ron (Stephanie) Aul; father, Floyd Aul; aunt, Trini Hager all of Tucson; sister Ruth Ann (Ellis) Pike of Canton, NY; best friends, Duly Mitchell and Fran and Ben Gosewisch; and many, many friends and family who were near and dear to her heart.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Leola to either TMC Hospice, 5301 E. Grant, 85712, or Cancer Center of Southern Arizona, 2625 N. Craycroft, 85712.
Services will be Monday, June 26, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

ANCE 'BUDDY' GOOD
February 27, 1918 – June 17, 2000
preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Pauline Mae 'Polly' Good
October 17, 1920 – October 22, 1997
Buddy and Polly owned and operated the Coronado Market from 1946 to 1980. They were brave, strong, honorable and loving. They are survived by their loving sons, Jerry Alan Good, Donald James Good; by their daughter-in-law, Jeanette Ann Good and grandson, Johnse Ance Good. They enriched and protected our lives. Each day without them is our loss; their lives our gain.
