GOSS, Jean Calta, 76, of Tucson, AZ, passed away July 7, 2000. Jean was born in Manhattan, New York and moved to Arizona in October of 1973. She was an accountant at JC Penney and Co., was past president of American Business Women's Association, was a treasurer for 6 years in the ladies guild at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family. She is survived by her sons, Frank, Tony, Robert, Richard Calta, Ron Goss; and daughter, Linda Todd; daughter-in laws, Kathy, Julie, Tricia Calta, Kim Goss; and son-in-law, Gary Todd; her brother, Sal Calta; and sister, Mary Alfano. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. William 'Bill' D. Orms first came to Arizona in 1927 as an 11-year-old boy; over the next 10 years he was to develop a love affair for the Mountains and the desert. His first job was for the Inspiration Mine in Miami, Arizona. He would return to Miami, FL in 1937 and find his true love for the next 61 years, Helen Moryks. They married
on July 2, 1939. They were to have three children, however losing two of them, Douglas in early infancy in May of 1943 and then their oldest son, William Stanley in his 18th year in 1958. their daughter, Barbara Anne Orms Bright of Tucson, has given a great deal of love and devotion to her parents; plus three daughters, Mollie Beth, of Miami, FL., Rebecca Sue and Sara Lynn, both of Middle, GA; and eight great-grandchildren, Brittany, Morgan, Kayleigh, Angela, Gary, Cheyenne, Marc and Jessica. After serving in WWII as a radio operator with the 486th Bomb Group of the 8th Army Air Corps, he returned to Florida and his job at Florida Power & Light Co., but something was missing. He was to enter the world of business over the next 30 years becoming one of South Florida's most successful businessmen. He would spend the time doing what he did best, building his business, fishing in his beloved Everglades, traveling the world touching 6 continents, and indulging his daughter, grandchildren and others in his generosity. In 1999 he and Helen moved to Tucson to be close to their daughter, Barbara Anne and son-in-law, Gary R. Bright. Mr. Orms also leaves behind two brothers, Stuart, of Tucson and Norris, of Longview, Texas. countless nephews and nieces, three of which are from Arizona, J. BISHOP, Roger Dale, 66, passed away at home on July 4, 2000. He was born in Bemidiji, Minnesota on July 23, 1933. He worked for Boeing until he retired in 1988 and moved to Tucson. He was an avid gun collector for most of his life and participated in many gun shows and events where he made many friends all over the United States. Roger is survived by his beloved wife of two months, Joy; mother, Verta Bishop; and sister, Barbara McGregor, both of Bemidiji, Minnesota; son, Jeffrey (Rita) of California; daughters, Tasha (Kevin) Byrd of Oregon and Jodie (Kerry) Bagley of Tucson; and three grandchildren. LEONARD E. BRADY went home to the Lord, Saturday, July 8, 2000. Waiting for him was his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth L. Brady, who preceded him in death on May 19, 2000. Leonard was born to Harry and Clara (Mathews) Brady on July 29, 1913, in Windom, Minnesota. He was an only child. They moved to Iowa where he later met and married
Ruth, while he was playing saxophone in a dance band. In 1953, they moved to Tucson and set up their home, where they lived for 47 years. He was a lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades. Much of his work can still be seen in Tucson. His work was hand done with love and he valued all his clients. He is survived by one son, Richard (Susie) Brady; one daughter, Sharon (Don) Sowle; four grandchildren, Judy, Jackie, Tammy (Ron) Kenny, Michael (Kassy) Brady; and four great-grandchildren, Crystle, Robert, Shannin and Nicole. Leonard was a kind and gentle man and he will be greatly missed by all of us. 'Thank you Mark' for being there. A special 'thank you' to the staff of Villa Campana, Catalina Unit and the Casa De Luz Hospice staff. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. ANNETTE COCKLIN-BURBECK, 65, went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2000. She is preceded in death by her first husband, David Cocklin; and son, Terry Cocklin. She is survived by her husband, Paul A. Burbeck; daughter, Pamela (Martin) Hansen; grandchildren, Hunter and Cody Hansen; step-children, Ronda Sampson, Mike and Eddie Burbeck.
Annette was an active member of the Elks Club and owned her own business, Cocklin and Gentry Tax Service, for many years. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Her hobbies included reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and making others feel loved and appreciated. Her smile and laugh will forever be imprinted on the hearts of those she loved and touched.
The memorial service will be at Annette's home church Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 8845 N. Silverbell Road on Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund.
CHEESEMAN, Beverlee Church, 61, died July 7, 2000 at her home in Tucson, surrounded by her family. She was born May 16, 1939 in Auburn, NY. Beverlee graduated from Moravia Central School, and attended Auburn Community College and Cortland State Teachers College. Following the birth of their first child, Bev and her husband, Phill, moved to Tucson in 1960. After a career in banking data processing, she retired as Vice President, Operations Management. She then continued to manage family rental properties until her death. Beverlee is survived by her husband of 41 years, Phillip Cheeseman; daughters, Coni (Craig) Weatherford and Lee Ann Holbrook; and grandson, Andrew Wayne Gantt, all of Tucson. She is also survived by her mother, Mary G. Church; and her sister Coni (Gordon) Hadden of Liberty, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews. Beverlee was predeceased by her father, Harold Wayne Church, and her niece, Dana Hadden, both in 1993; her granddaughter, Tina Gantt in 1995; and her sister, Bunny Dixon on June 20, 2000. Beverlee and all of her family are especially grateful for the loving care and dedication shown by her doctor and his staff.

FRANK, Emma Lucille, 96, of Tucson, was promoted to Glory on Saturday, July 8, 2000. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom live in Michigan, caregiver, Shirley and special friend, Christine, both of Tucson. preceded in death by husband, Bernard; brother, Hollis; and sister, Lulu Russell. Born January 16, 1904 in Lapeer, MI, Emma was the second child of William and Sophia (Jacobson) Hayes. When Gospel Radio Station WMPC of Lapeer began broadcasting in 1926, Emma was the first announcer. She was a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. She was executive secretary at the Bodine Electric Co. of Chicago for many years. Emma married
Bernard Frank and following their retirement they moved to Tucson. Emma became an active member of the Saguaro Baptist Church and remained active until her health declined. Emma was very adventuresome, she traveled extensively throughout the world. Her 90th birthday was celebrated with a hot-air balloon ride. RAFAELA O. GUILLEN, 95, of Tucson, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2000. Rafaela was born on October 24, 1904. preceded in death by her husband, Bernardino; son, Manuel; and daughter, Mercedes Miranda. HAUCK, Dorothy Mary Isett Lahart, passed away on June 28, 2000. Dorothy was a warm and wonderful, endlessly active spirit, who will be missed by friends and family. Born in Chicago, IL on April 23, 1912, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Isett. She spent her youth and young adulthood in Minneapolis, where she married
Martin Lahart, one of the Untouchables, who preceded her in death in 1975. Dorothy and her family spent many happy years in Honolulu, where she worked for U.S Customs, before moving to the Tucson area in 1970. Dorothy leaves behind her beloved husband of 20 years, Edwin J. Hauck. She also leaves behind a son, Martin Lahart of Alexandria, VA; a daughter, Nancy Deschamps of Tucson; granddaughters, Wendi Lahart of Portland, OR, Heidi Lahart of Seattle, WA, Renee Deschamps of New York; nephew, Charles Nygaard and his family, wife Kathleen, their children, Vanessa, Sarah and Alexander, and Julie Hauck, her husband Ed's granddaughter. A Memorial Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. BILL KEMMERIES - Bill Kemmeries, age 69, died on July 8th, 2000 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bill lived for several years in Nogales, AZ, before coming to Tucson in 1944. He attended Roskruge Middle School and Tucson High School, were he played on two undefeated basketball teams coached by Bud Doolen from 1948-49. He received a Baird scholarship as well as a basketball scholarship to the University of Arizona. At the university, Bill was the conference leading scorer and team captain. He was also the student body president in 1953 and won the Freeman's Award as the Outstanding Men's Graduate that same year. After college, Bill Spent two years in the Army Tank Corps as a commissioned officer.
Bill than became a teacher and head basketball coach at Catalina High School. He was Dean of Boys and then Asst. Principal at Palo Verde High School. In 1980 he was named Principal of Canyon Del Oro High School, and 1985 he retired from the Amphitheater School District as Asst. Superintendent. He taught for several years as an adjunct professor for Pima Community College.
Bill was active in the YMCA for 14 years and the Arizona Daily Star's Sportsmen's Fund. Later in life Bill was President of the U of A Alumni Association and worked in management for the Circle K Corporation. Bill ran unsuccessfully for the City Council in 1987. Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Brady; brothers, Dayton and Ken; his three children, Bill Jr. (Ann) of Tucson, Kay (Scott) Brassey of Boise, Idaho, and Kristi (Frank) Isaac of Calabasas, California; and by his four grandchildren, Matt and Mark Brassey and Emily and Andrew Isaac.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 15th at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, North Chapel, 204 S. Stone Ave. The public is welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to TMC Hospice at 5301 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712.

LEORA M. ORTON, 98, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2000. She was born September 7, 1901 in Dundee, IL and has resided in Tucson, AZ since December 1996. She was preceded in death by husbands, Arthur H. Orton and Paul H. Stoermer; her two brothers, Arthur Albright of Elgin, IL and Carl Albrecht of Denver, CO. She is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Wingert of Tucson, AZ and Teresa Gnekow of Cedar Crest, NM; step-daughter, Shirley Lehmann of Elgin, IL; step-sons, Carl Orton of Hampshire, IL, Donald Orton of Wheaton, IL, and Gordon Orton of Owego, NY.; grandchildren, Stacy, Mira, Norma, Tami, Debra, Daniel, Karen, Lisa, Sarah, William, Jonathon, Mark and Kirsten; niece, Eileen Leschke; and nephew, Gordon Albright, both of Elgin, IL; and nephew, Duane Albrecht of Englewood, CO; numerous great-grandchildren.
