FOX, Amalia Munoz, 79, went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2000. She is survived by her son, Alex (Anita) Oberlick; and granddaughters, Jill and Elaine. Amalia cherished her two granddaughters. Amalia was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Fox.
Amalia was born in Tucson, April 13, 1921 in the El Presidio Neighborhood. She lived her entire life in this downtown neighborhood. Her Tucson ancestry dates back to before the Gadsden Purchase.

MILLER, Betty Jane, age 78, died Thursday, July 13, 2000. She is survived by two sons, Richard V. Born October 15, 1912 in Bryan, TX. He enlisted July 9, 1935 in the Army Coast Artillery serving in Battery 'E', 69th C.A.CAA for three years. Following a short break in service he joined the Army Air Corp in 1939 as a Radio Operator/Maintenance person. Serving in India during WWII he transferred into the newly formed United States Air Force in 1946. He retired from the Air Force after 27 years of service. preceded in death by his wife of forty-three years, Maria Del Socorro, July 1988. Survived by son, Lawrence Ray and his wife, Vicki, their daughters, Samantha and Anna of Shalimar, FL; daughter, Marie Yvonne and her husband, John J. Nemec, their children, Steven and Suzanne from Santa Clara, CA. He is also survived by two brothers, Sidney R. Neal of Romona, CA and Melvin Neal of Fair Oaks, CA; sister, Anna Belle Overstreet of Baytown, TX.

SCHOENING, Elwood D. passed away on July 8, 2000 at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife Lela; daughter, Ann (Errol) Montgomery; son, Phillip (Emma) Schoening; by grandchildren, Jennifer (Philip) McDowell, David Montgomery, Erika (Yancy) Taylor, Melynda Schoening; by great-grandchildren, Mara and Randal; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Elwood was born November 16, 1910 and grew up in Emmett, Idaho with his parents. In 1934 he married
his childhood sweetheart, Lela. They farmed in Emmett until his retirement in 1987 when they moved to Tucson, Arizona.
Elwood was an active member of the Christian Church in Emmett, and a charter member of Pusch Ridge Christian Church in Tucson. He served on various Idaho farming and dairy boards. He was a 50-year Mason with continuous membership at Butte Lodge #37 AF&AM, Emmett. He was a loving husband and father, and will be missed by his many friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Pusch Ridge Christian Church, 440 W. Calle Concordia.

TORGERSON, Donald Calvin, 73, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2000. He was the cherished husband of Barbara for almost 53 years; beloved father of Carole, of Tucson, Donna (Gregory) and Peggy (Mike) of Illinois; loving grandfather of Brian, Justin, Nicholas, Kristopher, Kristin, Krista and Brock; brother of Warren (Jenny), Ken (Sybil), and June (Al); uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; and friend to many.
Don was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 10, 1927, served in the Navy in WWII, was a master auto mechanic for 38 years, and moved to Tucson in 1974.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Johnny M. Espinoza. He is survived by his three sons, Eddie, Manny, Gabriel; mother, Mary Matus; twin sister, Betty (Danny) Lopez; sisters, Irene (Heri) Tapia, Rachel (Albert) Herrera, Irma (John) McKenna, Sandra Espinoza (Eusebio), Anna Matus (Armando); brothers, Ruben Espinoza, Frank Matus; and 20 loving nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2000 at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. KEMMERIES, Bill, age 69, died on July 8th, 2000 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bill lived for several years in Nogales, AZ, before coming to Tucson in 1944. He attended Roskruge Middle School and Tucson High School, were he played on two undefeated basketball teams coached by Bud Doolin from 1948-49. He received a Baird scholarship as well as a basketball scholarship to the University of Arizona. At the university, Bill was the conference leading scorer and team captain. He was also the student body president in 1953 and won the Freeman's Award as the Outstanding Men's Graduate that same year. After college, Bill Spent two years in the Army Tank Corps as a commissioned officer.
Bill than became a teacher and head basketball coach at Catalina High School. He was Dean of Boys and then Asst. Principal at Palo Verde High School. In 1980 he was named Principal of Canyon Del Oro High School, and 1985 he retired from the Amphitheater School District as Asst. Superintendent. He taught for several years as an adjunct professor for Pima Community College.
Bill was active in the YMCA for 14 years and the Arizona Daily Star's Sportsmen's Fund. Later in life Bill was President of the U of A Alumni Association and worked in management for the Circle K Corporation. Bill ran unsuccessfully for the City Council in 1987. Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Brady; brothers, Dayton and Ken; his three children, Bill Jr. (Ann) of Tucson, Kay (Scott) Brassey of Boise, Idaho, and Kristi (Frank) Isaac of Calabasas, California; and by his four grandchildren, Matt and Mark Brassey and Emily and Andrew Isaac.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 15th at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Ave. The public is welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to TMC Hospice at 5301 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712.

MARCHESE, Michael (Mick), went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2000. He was a cherished partner of Sandy for almost 40 years. He is survived by two sons, Robert (Tricia) and Luke of NY, his mother Helen from NY, and a brother Don (Mary) from NC, as well as many brothers- and sisters-in -aw, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. Mick was born in TN, October 27, 1937, but spent his school years in Poughkeepsie, NY. After college he returned to Poughkeepsie where he started his IBM career of 33 years. In 1967 he and his family moved to Boulder, CO until 1979 when they all moved to Tucson with a short 3 year assignment in Paris, France before Mick retired in May of 1993.
