DYKE, Rudolph M., 'Hiya, Hiya', Sr., 78, born in Tucson, June 16, 1922, (retired custodian) entered into rest, Saturday, July 15, 2000. preceded in death by parents, Alberto, Sr., and Jesus Dyke; brothers, Albert, Jr., George, William and Alex and wife, Carmen; survived by children Rudy, Jr., Cecilia Jones, George and Stephen; sister, Carmen; grandchildren, Zoya Jones, Domanic and Felicia Dyke, also former wife, Anna Jean Wade. Many nieces and nephews, friends and golf 'buddies.' He served in the Navy during WWII and saw action in the South Pacific. He sang and played the guitar and delighted his friends with his humor and antics. A memorial mass will be said Thursday, July 20, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Augustin Cathedral. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Chicanos Por La Causa.

FOLEY, Jack Dean, 59 years old, formerly of Long Beach, CA, passed away July 13, 2000 in Tucson. Born May 19, 1941 in Kalamazoo, MI. Survived by father, Phillip D. Foley; mother, Marian L. Foley; aunt, Betty Lou Knapp of Bay City, MI. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL. 881-0338

HUDSON, WILLIAM G., 31, Died: July 10, 2000. ABBEY FUNERAL HOME (888-1111)

Raymond A. Lopez - Age 61, of Tucson, passed away July 13, 2000.
He was preceded in death by loving parents, Ramon and Luz Lopez. Survived by brothers, Richard (Lucille) Lopez, Art (Lizy) Lopez; and sister, Mary (Mike) Hall; by his cherished nephews and nieces, Richard Lopez, Jr., Audrey Lopez, Michael (Melissa) Lopez, John Lopez, Neal Daniels, Melissa Lopez, Jamie Lopez, Randy Lopez, Brian Lopez, and Brittany Hall; also, by loving aunt, Carmela Cruz; and many cousins.
Ray was a native Tucsonian and was employed by Tucson Newspapers as a pressman. He began as a copyboy in 1960. Served as chairman and president of the Pressmen's Union Local 212.
He was a graduate of Catalina High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1958. He served on the U.S.S. Hornet.
Ray truly enjoyed his family especially his nephews and nieces. He treasured his times with his only surviving Aunt Carmela. He was also an avid collector of antiques. He enjoyed sports and liked playing baseball and softball. Ray and his brothers formed the team, 'The Humadulters', and enjoyed playing together for many years. He also played softball with his colleagues for Tucson Newspapers.
Ray was a strong-willed, independent man with a caring and compassionate heart who would always be there for family and friends. He will forever hold a place in our hearts and will be missed dearly by all.
Friends and family may call Tuesday, July 18, 2000 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at the church. Burial will be private at Holy Hope cemetery at a later date. Terrance J. 'Terry' McCarthy, 63, died quietly at his home on Friday, July 14, 2000, surrounded by loving family and friends. He was a devoted family man and faithful friend. Terry is survived by his wife, Sue; his mother, Beatrice McCarthy Kellen; his sister, Bobby McCray; his brother, Fred McCarthy (Ann); eight children, Mac McCarthy (Donna), Mitch McCarthy (Debbie), Paige Fish (Weston), Connie Stettner (Jon), Coby Dunbar (Keith), Joni Friedman (Ron), Rusty Knight (Kathy) and Scott Knight; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Terry was born in Manchester, Connecticut on November 3, 1936 to Frederick A. McCarthy and Beatrice A. Leduc McCarthy. The family moved to Tucson in 1947. After graduating from Tucson High School, Terry worked in construction before beginning a very successful 34-year career at Hughes Aircraft Company. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists. Terry 'worked his way up the ladder' at Hughes as a manufacturing engineer until retirement in December, 1989, as operations manager.
Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grand Road, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Buddy Mizelle. Also a funeral service 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20 with Father John Alt officiating at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.

ROACH, Mel Timothy, 46, a 28 year resident of Tucson, died Saturday, July 15, 2000. preceded in death by his father, John L. Roach. Mel is Survived by his mother, Marie Jule Roach; brothers, Mark (Linda) Roach and Paul Roach; sisters, Claire (Peter) Metz, Monica Roach and Maggie (Tom) Cimms; also five nieces and nephews; and many friends who loved him dearly. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at EAST PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grand Road. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.

SANDRETTO, John E., 69, died July 14, 2000. Survived by his wife, Alice; daughter, Julie and her husband, Robert Jenkins; brother, Richard and his wife, Patricia Sandretto; mother-in-law, Ruby Colman; and brother-in-law, Ralph Coleman. Visitation will be Monday, July 17, 2000 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grand Rd. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Burial to follow at EAST LAWN PALMS cemetery.

SERJAK (Roark), Lucille Alice, born August 30, 1918, passed away July 13, 2000. She leaves husband, William C.; son, Lee M.; daughters, Marcia Appel and Kathleen DeLay; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church, River Road and Campbell Avenue. It was Lucille's wish that those attending wear colorful attire, as she desired a celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Tucson Heart Hospital or the Community Organization, Foundation for Cardiovascular Health, 1517 N. Wilmot Road, #236, Tucson 85712. SPIEGEL, Harold Robert, 90, died July 12, 2000. He was born in Cheboygan, Michigan, received his Bachelor's degree from Albion College and his Master's degree from Tufts College. He was a Littauer Fellow at the Harvard School of Public Administration. Later he attended the National War College and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard School of business.
His public service began as an economist in the U.S. Treasury Department where he served as a member of the Economic Advisory Mission to Venezuela in 1939 and the Technical Advisory Mission to Cuba in 1941-42. His wartime service was with the U.S. State Department in the London Embassy in economic warfare. Later he was a member of the Marshall Plan Mission in Paris in 1947.
In 1950, he was employed by the Arabian American Oil Company where he served as Assistant Treasurer in New York and Saudi Arabia and later as Executive Secretary of the Executive Management Council. From 1962 to 1965, he took leave from Aramco to serve as Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy. In 1966, he was granted an honorary doctorate from Albion College. He was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Royal Society for Asian Affairs.
After retirement in Tucson in 1970, he earned a Master's degree in Public Administration at the University of Arizona. For many years he was involved in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program for the elderly. He served as a member of the Committee on Foreign Relations and the Foothills Forum.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen; his two daughters, Caroline Furman and Christina Spiegel; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on July 15, 2000. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity.

TUCKER, Kenneth H., 87, Died: July 8, 2000. ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL (888-1111)

SUZANNE M. BARNES (NEE BEST), 66, of Tucson, AZ went to be with the Lord June 30, 2000. Sue was born on January 21st, 1934 in Altoona, PA. preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Best. Sue graduated from Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo, NY, 1956. She was a nurse at Providence Hospital in El Paso, TX and Flagstaff, AZ. Sue and Ben met in El Paso and were married in Las Cruces, NM, June 15, 1956. Survived by her husband, Ben Barnes; daughters, Deborah (Michael) Harvey and Kimberly Barnes; grandson, Michael Harvey; also numerous other relatives. After her first child was born she excelled at being a wife and mother and gave love and joy to everyone who knew her. Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., July 22, 2000 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Sue requested everyone wear casual clothes.

JAMES C. BULITTA - Born August 6, 1968 in Phoenix, Arizona and passed away July 15, 2000 in Tucson, Arizona from complications following heart surgery.
Jim graduated Deer Valley High School in Phoenix in 1986. In 1991, he graduated the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Jim worked for Mintec, Inc. in Tucson, progressing quickly in programming and software maintenance.
An avid sports fan, he was especially fond of baseball, basketball, hockey, football and Nascar racing. He and his wife spent many happy vacations traveling to watch the Cincinnati Reds play.
Jim was a technophile with a marvelous sense of wonder, whimsy, and fun. He loved Disneyland, humor, horror, sci fi, and 'B' movies. Jim was a complex person with many varied interests and attributes. He was both a very private person and a very generous, funny, and warm friend. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Heather Bulitta; his father, Donald Bulitta (Lee Bulitta); his mother, Carole Dietzel (Kris Farmer); his grandfather, Ronald Krahenbuhl; his sisters, Delanie Johnson, Cathy Meile (Rob Meile), and Christine Glaser; his brothers, Nathan and Joshua Bulitta; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and friends.
The family expresses deep gratitude to the doctors and nurses at TMC, Jim's coworkers at Mintec, and all the friends who gave love and support during his illness.
Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (a favorite charity of Jim and Heather). Also, blood donations to the American Red Cross are greatly appreciated.
Funeral service 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Visitation and viewing from 3:00 p.m. to service time.

BURNS, GEORGE ABEL JR. passed away on July 15, 2000. He was a native Tucsonan, attended Tucson High School, enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served in the Pacific. He married Ruth Edna McLellan in 1947, they were married 53 years. He was a retired auto mechanic from Bill Breck Dodge. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Edna, and three children, son, George A. III (Suzanne) of Tucson, daughters; Kathryn R. Davidson (Douglas) of St. David, and Paula J. Fortman (Jeff) of Silverdale, WA. He is also survived by his sister Mary Anne Burns of Tucson, brother Robert D. (Jan) of OK, sister Dolores Figueroa (Gus) of Tucson, brother James R. (Lucy) of Tucson, brother William of Tucson, and 14 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. preceded in death by parents, George Abel and Marianna Corella, son Patrick J. and sister Emma Quintas (Manuel).
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 18 from 6-8pm, at East Lawn cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at 10am at 6901 Kenyon Dr. at the LDS Church with a viewing at 9 a.m. Burial to follow at East Lawn cemetery.
