October 25, 1934 – July 18, 2000
Born in Ft. Hancock, TX moved to Marana with her family in 1963. preceded in death by one grandchild. Survived by husband, Morris Sr.; children, Morris Jr. (Anita), Henry, Norma, George (Erma), Gene (Terry), Mike, Martin; nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, July 21st, between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m., with rosary at 7:00 p.m., at ARIZONA MORTUARY UNIVERSITY CHAPEL. Mass service Saturday, July 22nd, 9:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 8650 N. Shannon Rd. Burial to follow at Holy Hope cemetery.

SPANO, Karen E., 49, of Tucson died Saturday, July 15, 2000. She was survived by her daughter, Michelle Spano; son, Tony Spano; mother, Ida Rogers; brother, Tommy (DeLene) Rogers; and best friend, Robbie Evans. Karen was a daughter, mother, sister, and best friend. Her love for others was expressed in doing. She gave herself from morning to night, always thinking of someone else. After her father's death in February 1999, she added a large apartment on her home for her mother. She worked full time for Tucson General Surgical Associates, plus caring for her home and her 'babies' (her cats), Trouble, Freddie, Batty, Mittens, Ginger, Mami, and Scarlett. Yet she tirelessly met all of her mother's needs. If she ever sat down she was quilting tiny pieces of material into a beautiful masterpiece. She loved going to concerts, swimming with the dolphins with her daughter, and making huge Halloween costumes for her adult son. Karen was an angel sent from the 'Great Spirit' to keep us all happy. She was a great lady and the strength that held the family together. We love you, we miss you. Private Services will be held at a later date. The family requests that memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Hermitage No Kill Cat Shelter, PO Box 13508, Tucson, 85732. Arrangements entrusted to HEATHER MORTUARY.

DARNELL, Clarence Richard 'Dick', 71, native Arizonian of St. David, passed away while visiting family in Paradise, Texas on July 19, 2000. Survived by his mother, Katherine R. Darnell of St. David, AZ; children, Lorena A. Darnell of Park City, UT; Richard E. Darnell of Sandy, UT; Laurie L. (Charles) Anderson; and Donald D. Darnell both of Paradise, TX; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; sister, Frances (Bert) Goodman of St. David; and brothers, Robert E. (Gladys) Darnell, Silver City, NM, Norman A. Darnell, Peoria, AZ, and Jack (Mary) Breen, Tucson, AZ.
He served 24 years with the US Air Force retiring as Master Sergeant. He was a member of VFW and DAV and Am. Legion. He was a mechanic by profession working in Texas and Arizona.
Richard was a member of the King Solomon Lodge #5 F&AM, Tucson Scottish Rite Bodies and Sabbar Shrine Temples. Richard was a strong supporter of the Shrine Hospitals for Crippled Children. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shrine Transportation Fund, C/O Sabbar Shrine Temple, 450 S. Tucson Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716-5699.
Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m., services at 5:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in St. David, AZ on Saturday, July 22, 2000 with services by the Masonic order. Military Color Guard will honor him. Interment at St. David cemetery.

GARCIA, Robert M., age 81, of Tucson, died July 18, 2000. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, brother, sister, and nieces. Robert proudly served our country in the 325th fighting squadron in the Air Force during WWII. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, 1050 N. Dodge just south of Speedway. Interment Holy Hope cemetery.

KOSKY, Allan Died July 12, 2000. Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 23, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. at Catalina Methodist Church.

ALICE SUE PIERSON
January 15, 1916 – July 17, 2000
Daughter of Horace and Mary Harding, was born in Warren, AR. preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters. Survived by one sister, Mrs. Amy Campbell, of Los Angeles, CA. Sue was a Christian Lady who was always there for the community and family with an open heart. Sue is survived by her husband, Jeffery Pierson, who she married on February 11, 1958 in Tucson. Survived by sons, Willie Ray (Cheryl), and Lee Edward Pierson; grandchildren, Ms. Kimberly R. Pierson, Mr. Durrell R. Pierson and Ms. LaDonna M. Pierson; host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 23rd between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at ARIZONA MORTUARY UNIVERSITY CHAPEL. Going Home Service 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 24th at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, with burial following at Evergreen cemetery.

THOMPSON, William B., 78, head groundskeeper for University Hospital for 27 years, died Sunday, July 16, 2000.
Loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather.
Visitation will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPEL. Funeral Service at Santa Cruz Church. Burial will be at South Lawn cemetery.

ZACHAU, Donald Carl, 61, died July 17, 2000. Survived by wife, Carol Zachau; children, Bill Zachau, Kathy Anders, Trish Ledbetter all of Tucson, Jeff Collins of Otego, NY, Andy Collins of Belvedere, NJ, Maylee Enking of Scottsdale, AZ, and Dale Collins of Tucson; brother, George Zachau of Loveland, CO; 17 grandchildren also survive. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2000 at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott with Dr. Wayne North officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Donald may be made to the American Heart Association.

ANDERSON, Frances F., 86, died July 20, 2000. She is survived by her son, David (Mary) Anderson of Dresden, KS; and her daughter, Floy Pine of Denver, CO; she had four grandchildren, Heather Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Thomas Pine and Michelle Honan. Frances lived in Tucson almost 50 years, and was a member of Catalina United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a loving, caring friend to many. A service for family and friends will be held Monday, July 31, 3:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of your choice.

BOISE, Candy C., 51, died July 18, 2000 in Tucson. Survived by her daughters, Mary (Joseph) Sanchez, Tami Lefteroff, Kimberly Rawlins, Carrie Rawlins; one sister, Susie Boise. Funeral mass will be Saturday, July 22, 2000 at Noon, St. Cyril's Church at 4725 E. Pima. With burial to follow at Eastlawn cemetery. BURNS, Lenora F. Born November 02, 1927 in Chicago, IL, a Tucson resident since 1976 entered into heaven July 18, 2000. She passed away peacefully at home. She is preceded in death by her son, Patrick. She is survived by her children; Karol Lee Briggs, Margaret Ann Burns, James Burns, Kathleen Freedman; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Marianne Vitton (John); one brother, Michael Seriann, Jr.; four nephews; and close friends. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday, July 22, 2000 at 12:00 noon at St. Joseph's Parish, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. Interment will follow at South Lawn cemetery. Services entrusted to South Lawn Mortuary.

THELMA LOUISE MYLES DIXON
March 12, 1912 – July 20, 2000
Thelma Dixon, 88, of Tucson, Arizona died this past Thursday. She was born in Florida and was raised in West Virginia where she lived until the early 1950's before moving west with her husband and children. She has lived in Tucson since 1972. She was married to a coal miner, Robert L. Dixon in 1930, and was preceded in death by him, as well as an infant son, John Alderson. Thelma had many talents – sewing, needlepoint, cooking, canning, and her favorite, gardening, especially her roses. Thelma is survived by her son, Robert Dixon of Tucson; her daughter, Betty Jo Otis of Phoenix, and daughter, Mary Ganem of Tucson; brother, Lacy Myles of Fernley, NV; sister, Clementine Koontz of Oxnard, Calif. She had five grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2000 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carondelet Hospice Services, 1802 W. St. Mary's Rd., T/A 85745-2690.

DOMLER, Helen, 98, passed away July 19, 2000. Survivors include daughters, Mary Ochs, Coralee Holth and Bonnie J. Mackey all of Tucson. Also 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. preceded in death by a son, Joseph. Visitation will be Sunday evening at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, at 6:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Services on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, followed by burial in Holy Hope cemetery.

EHLENBURG, Dora Mae, 84, of Tucson, passed away on July 18, 2000. Born in Milan, Michigan, Dora has been a resident of Tucson for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ehlenburg. Survivors include her sons, Bruce A. Ehlenburg (Diane) of Tucson, Reid Ehlenburg of Tucson, and daughter, Gail Thompson (Glenn) of Mission Viejo, CA; grandchildren, Stacie (Tom) Faltz of Tucson, Kimberly Thompson of Germany, and Brett Thompson of Mission Viejo, CA; one great-granddaughter, Kristen Faltz; and brother, Reuben Westfall of Milan, MI. Services will be private. Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

HAYHURST, Mary Fern, 90, died July 20, 2000. preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dr. Darrell E. Hayhurst. Mother of Darrell (Dani) Hayhurst, Jr. and Michael (Jeannie) Hayhurst; grandmother of Terry Hayhurst, Pat (Tina) Hayhurst, Jana (Todd) Stedman, Darrell Hayhurst III and Dawn Hayhurst; five great-grandchildren also survive. She was born in Cripple Creek, Colorado; worked as a surgical nurse for L.A. County Hospital. She was an R.N. in private practice for 35 years. Services will be private. Arrangements by Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway.

HOWARD, William, age 78, of Tucson, passed away July 18, 2000. He is survived by wife, Marion; son, Larry (Gale) Howard; daughters, Mary Lou (Rusty) Howe and Karen (Gary Sr.) Smith; grandchildren, Yvonne, Albert, Gary Jr., Jennifer, and April; great-grandchildren, Marcos, Estevan, Rene, and Salena; sister, Evelyn Handcock; and brother, jack and Gerold Howard. He was retired from Trico Electric Company, and he served in the United States Navy armed guard during WWII and was skipper of the Arizona Chapter U.S. Navy armed guard from 1993 to 2000. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2000 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. Shannon Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of William Howard. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

NOIROT, Pauline R., age 75, of 915 W. Moss Ave., Peoria, IL died 3:07 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2000 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Born January 26, 1925 in Peoria to Francis and Mary Bauwens Bobeck.
She married George J. Noirot on January 6, 1945 in Peoria. He died June 11, 1965 in Peoria.
Surviving are two sons, including Peter and Lori Noirot of Tucson, AZ; five daughters, including Cindy Noirot of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.
She was a Registered Nurse at Zellar Mental Health. A member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Peoria YWCA and St. Mark's Seniors Club.
A Memorial Mass will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23 at St. Mark's Church with Rev. Dominic J. Vitaliano officiating. She donated her body to science for scientific study. Wright and Salmon Mortuary in Peoria in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
