HAROLD HOWARD HARPHANT, 73, of Tucson, formerly of Oracle and San Manuel, met with our Lord on July 23, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eileen Harphant; his children, Randy (Joan) Harphant, Mark (Sharyn) Harphant, all of Tucson, Michael Harphant of Elko, NV and Mary Kay Harphant (Steven) Schultz of Tenino, CA; grandchildren, Timothy Harphant, Steven Harphant, Traci (Robert) England, Scot Harphant and Megan (Dixon) Labor; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Auston, Brennon and Breonna; many nieces and nephews. Youngest of ten, Mr. Harphant was predeceased by Charles, Robert, Albert, Harry, Mae, Dorothy, Ruby, Fannie and Kenneth. He was an US Army veteran of WWII, a member of VFW Post #10188, a charter member of the Old Pueblo Square Wheelers, a longtime member of The Diamond Squares, a square dance club, a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus, Regina Cleri Council #5233. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 8650 N. Shannon Road. Interment to follow in Holy Hope cemetery. WILLIAM (BILL) THEODORE HEUN, JR.
June 16, 1925 to July 23, 2000
Survived by his mother, Marie Heun and brother Henry Heun, by his loving wife, Helen, much cherished children, Monica (Peter) Roslow, William (Elizabeth) Heun, Joseph (Donna) Heun and Jacqueline (Patrick) Dukes and greatly treasured grandchildren, Sam, Madeleine, and Max Roslow, Katie and Anna Heun, Josephus, Nathanael, Moriah and Isaiah Heun, and Tom and Alyssa Dukes. Born in Marshaltown, Iowa; served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam; as an air force officer and pilot, receiving numerous honors and medals for valorous service to his country. Bill then established a second career as a CPA in private practice in Tucson. He was the past flight commander of the Davis Monthan Order of Daedalians, past president of Kiwanis Club of Sunshine, a 50 year Mason, a member of the Sabbar Shrine Temple, and an active member of Saint Alban's Episcopal Church serving as lay reader and chalice bearer for many years, also having served on the vestry. He has touched many hearts and will be missed by all. Services will be at Saint Alban's Episcopal Church, 3737 N. Old Sabino Canyon Road, Thursday July 27, 2000 at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that memorial gifts be made to Hogar de Los Ninos Amados c/o St. Alban's Episcopal Church, an orphanage for abused and abandoned children in Nicaragua.

LEONARD-REED, Sharon Kay, 47, passed away on July 22, 2000 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Survived by her husband, Rick; daughter, Megin Goetz (Tony); stepdaughter, Jacqulyn; sons, Jake Leonard (Kelly) and Michael; grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, Brent, Brynna Goetz and Kayla Leonard; and an additional grandchild joyfully anticipated in December; sisters, Pam Fingar (Garry), Marlene Hoffman and Sheila Shraven. Sharon has touched many lives and made many wonderful friends during her short time on this earth. Her love of the outdoors (especially fishing), her deep sense of family and her contagious laughter will be deeply missed by all that knew her. McWILLIAMS, Gladys Marie Goudie, born July 31, 1914 in Kansas City, MO, died July 18, 2000 at Summerville Assisted Living Center in Kenner, LA of heart failure. She was 85. She was a Tucson resident of Villa Catalina for 30 years. Mrs. McWilliams was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul C. McWilliams; a daughter, Mary Ann McWilliams; and a brother George A. Goudie. She is survived by one son, William R. McWilliams; a daughter-in-law, Deborah S. McWilliams; and a granddaughter, Gail E. McWilliams of Kenner, LA; two brothers, Richard L. Goudie of Colorado Springs and James E. Goudie of Farmers Branch, TX; two sisters, Madeline L. Ray of Tucson and Patricia E. Kirby of Kansas City, MO; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was very active throughout her life. She graduated from Sunset Hills School in Kansas City, MO and attended Kansas City Junior College. She worked for the Jones Store in Kansas City, MO. Volunteer activities included being a docent at the Nelson Gallery of Art in Kansas City and a Pink Lady at Tucson Medical Center in 1976. She is a sustaining member of the Tucson Junior League, a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Tucson Country Club, Old Pueblo Club, and the Embroidery Club. Gladys was an avid golfer and business travels took her to Panama, Mexico, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan and Indonesia. A memorial service will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., at Speedway, Thursday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m., with The Rev. Jeff Kane of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
PAOLETTI, Daniel Anthony, 63, died July 24, 2000. Husband of Mary Paoletti; father of Danette M. Paoletti and Randy (Tamara) Paoletti of Colorado; grandfather of Angela and Danny Paoletti of Colorado and Amanda and Louie Valdes of Tucson; brother of two brothers and four sisters. Daniel was employed at Apache Drywall and Ark Drywall and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Air Force at Davis Monthan for four years. RUMALDO ‘RAY' LARA PEDRAZA, 41, of Tucson, went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2000. He is survived by his beloved wife, Guadalupe Casillas Pedraza; sons, Rumaldo Ray C. Pedraza, Jr., and Ruben C. Pedraza; mother, Maria Luisa L. Pedraza; father-in-law, Oscar Casillas; brothers, Frank (Loretta), Jessie, Raul (Sylvia); sisters, Yolanda, Alicia (Marcos) Villegas; one brother-in-law; and two sisters-in-law; 32 nieces and nephews; grandparents, Jesus and Maria de Jesus Lara; and five godchildren. Ray will be loved and greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, and friends. preceded in death by father, Rumaldo Pedraza, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Amelia Casillas. RITCHIE, Robert Osborne, 86, died peacefully on July 22nd, 2000 of lung disease. His daughter, Linda of Downieville, CA, and his son, Robert and daughter-in-law Andrea, of Rockport, MA, were at his side.
Mr. Ritchie was born in East Haven, CT. In 1997 he attended his 60th class reunion at Hillhouse High School in New Haven, CT. For 37 years he was employed by Southern New England Telephone Company.
Mr. Ritchie was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Windsor, CT prior to retiring to Arizona. He gave generously of his time to the Telephone Pioneers of America Talking books and Hug-A-Bear programs, and was a member of the Commanche Wells community, the River Road Elks Lodge Number 385, the Nelson C. Bledsoe Masonic Lodge Number 74, Tucson Trap and Skeet Club, and St. Philip's in the Hills Parish.
Mr. Ritchie enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life. Despite the limitations of his illness, he showed great determination to live independently.
Mr. Ritchie was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Langdale Ritchie; and a daughter, Susan Pride of Las Vegas. In addition to son, daughter and daughter-in-law, six loving grandchildren survive him: Heath, Sonja, Kevin, Chad, Heidi and Kurt and his great granddaughter Sarah of Laupheim, Germany.
A service in celebration of Mr. Ritchie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 20th at St. Philip's in the Hills Church, River Road, Tucson. Gifts in his memory may be made to St. Philip's parish.

ULRICH, Gail R., 49, of Shelburne Falls, MA, born in Michigan, died Sunday, July 23, 2000. Loving wife of Don Cerow, she was the founder of the Blazing Star Herbal School, President of New England Herbal Association, founder of Women's Herbal Conference, and internationally known herbalist and author. Gail dedicated her life to teaching and helping others.
Devoted daughter of the late Dr. Sanford Ulrich, she leaves her mother, Saretta Ulrich of Tucson, AZ; and brothers, George (Judy Flam) Ulrich of Boston, MA, and Zip (Mary Jo) Ulrich of Taylors, SC. She was also mother to Katie and Andy Cerow.
Graveside Services will be observed on Wednesday, July 26, 2000 from the South Ashfield cemetery, off Williamsburg Road, Ashfield, Massachusetts at 3:00 p.m. with Rabbi Noah Kitty to officiate in the celebration of Gail's life. VAN CLEVE, Carolyn M. passed away July 22, 2000. Born November 24, 1914 in Colorado Springs, CO. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John H. Van Cleve. She is survived by her children, Carol A. Ruby, of Tucson and John R. Van Cleve of Tempe; Carolyn is also survived by five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Carolyn came to Tucson in 1937 and fell in love with the desert. She was an alumni of PCC and UA, charter member of Phi Theta Kappa and listed in Who's Who in American Junior Colleges. Beloved son of Betty LaCavera, Mesa, Arizona and Joseph and Darlene LaCavera, Tucson; brother of Joseph I. LaCavera, Tulsa, OK and Michael LaCavera, Chicago, IL, also Dennis Keys (Erica), Steven Keys and Jerry Samaniego; father of Nina, 11 years and Tony, 9 years. Also survived by grandparents, John and Florence Hammond of State College, PA; wife, Karen LaCavera, Tempe, AZ; and mother-in-law, Connie Siekierski, Tucson. His family included five uncles, three aunts, six nephews, 26 cousins and many, many loving friends. Tony has been a 12-year TMC employee. He was a member of Sun Riders of Tucson, a family motorcycle club and was involved with their charitable contributions to the community.
