WARD, Virginia June, age 79, passed into the hands of the Lord on July 29, 2000. She was preceded in heaven by her loving husband, Manuel Thomas Ward.
She is survived by loving children, Betty Smallwood of Edgewood, MD, Connie Ward-Oliver and husband, Mark of Tucson, AZ, Marcia Hickok of Westminster, MD, Larry T. Ward and wife Kathleen of Canon City, Co, Darryl and wife Carol Ward of Owings Mills, MD and Junette and husband James Fabian of Tampa, FL; her loving brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Maude Meade of Falls Church, VA and sister, Mary Duty of Roanoke, VA; her grandchildren, Jack, Shawn, Cristol, Janet, Timothy, April, Paul, Jennifer, Kristopher, Nicholas, Tina and Eric; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Zackarey, Lynnie, Skyler and Joseph. She is also survived by many nices and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Clara Campbell, kate Davenport, Amy and Monte Dorton.
This complicated and sensitive woman dedicated her entire fragile being to her loved ones. She was a kind and diligent caregiver to her late husband and to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her heart and her door were alway open to all of us. She will be greatly missed by all her family, especially by her grandson Tim, to whom she was a mom and grandmom, and daughter Marcia, who was always there in times of need. From all her children to our loving Mom-We will cherish your memory forever as we wish you the comfort of angels and peace, as you gave us all you had.

ADAMSON, Nancy of Tucson, died July 28, 2000 at home, surrounded by friends and family after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Her parents and sister, Pamela preceded Nancy in death. Son, Ryan Steward; sisters, Susan, Cynthia and Amy; and brothers, Ronald, William and Patrick survive her. Nancy was born and raised in Akron, Ohio where she graduated from Our Lady of the Elms High School. She graduated with a BA in Education from Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois. Nancy earned a MA in Education from Concordia College in Chicago, and enjoyed a rewarding career in elementary education in the Chicago area. Nancy moved to Tucson and opened J.W. Tumbles, a children's gym as a fulfillment of a lifelong dream. According to Nancy's final wishes, no memorial service will be held, but she can be remembered by her many friends with a donation in her memory to the charity of their choice. BEARSE, Sara Bolling. After 101 years of brightening her corner, Sara Bolling Bearse is sparkling in a wider realm. Born Sara Hazel Walls, October 18, 1898, in French Lick, Indiana, her life was an ongoing embrace of whatever blessing came her way. Despite being an enthusiastic Hoosier, Tucson was her home, where she lived fifty years in the Sam Hughes district. The end of life brought her near family in the newer Northwest area of Tucson and, typically, she opened her arms to new friends and surroundings. A long-time member of Catalina Methodist Church, she was active in The Railroaders Club; The Indiana Club; The Prayer House; and Armory Park Senior Citizens, holding a variety of offices and welcoming everyone she met. After a short illness, she died peacefully on July 31, 2000, having lived to see three different centuries. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Bearse. Four generations of proud and saddened family survive her, including her son, Michael Bolling of Tucson; her daughter, Aileen Ditto in Florida; her son, Robert Bolling in Indiana; and her stepdaughter, Rosemary Koshmider of Tucson. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Antoinette Bolling Lutter of Tucson; and a grandson, Terry Bolling of Phoenix; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren around the nation. BECKER, Carlton H., 98, of Denver, CO died July 23, 2000. Mr. Becker was born, March 24, 1902 in Elgin, IL. On August 23, 1925 he married
Clara B. Moulden, who preceded him in death. Mr. Becker graduated from the University of Illinois in 1924 with a BS degree in Engineering & worked as a Project Engineer & Associate Member of the water treatment firm, Greeley & Hansen from 1924 to 1955. He was a member of Rincon Congregational Church in Tucson, AZ. He was elected president of the Men's Garden Club at age 80, was an active gardener & photographer, & was active in the community of Lombard, IL serving on both the library & school boards. He was chairman of the Plan Commission in Lombard, IL where he resided from 1926 to 1970. In 1955, he was named Man of the Year by the Lombard Junior Chamber of Commerce for his work on the Plan Commissions. He is survived by daughters, Alice Melchior of Black Creek, WI & Anita Martin of Aurora, CO; six grandchildren, Walter Melchior, Edward Melchior, Susan Riecks, Sally Row, David Martin & Elizabeth Sprafka; & 12 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 4, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at Quincy Place Retirement Residence at 7200 E. Quincy Ave., Denver, CO. Remembrance may be made to the charity of one's choice.
BIANCO, Jack L. 80, died July 30, 2000 in Tucson. Survived by three sons, Jack R. (Jackie) Bianco, Jim (Connie) Dowling, Frank Dowling; two daughters, Pat Hunter, and Sharon (Don) Stockmar; sister, Frances (Elmer) Coven; nephew, Gary (Connie) Coven; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren. Jack was born in Denver, CO. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII in the U.S. and Guam, and was recalled to the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Leather Engraver for over 40 years at Colorado Saddlery and Hunter Holster Company. He was a member of the American Legion in both Denver and Tucson. BLANTON JR., Ray E., 64, passed away July 28, 2000 in Phoenix, AZ. Survived by his wife; nine children; 21 grandchildren; mother; one sister; and many friends. preceded in death by one son; and father. Ray was active in the veterans community, Old Pueblo Pipe Club and various clubs and organizations. Ray was an awesome husband and wonderful Daddy and friend to all. CLINGERMAN, Mr. Stuart, age 84, of McKinney, Texaspassed away July 30, 2000, at North Central Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1916, in Hagerstown, Maryland to Conde and Leah (Browning) Clingerman. He married
Mildred McElroy on May 29, 1937, in Phoenix, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Clingerman was a construction superintendent and of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Kurt Clingerman of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Kendall Faye Burling of Presidio, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
We was preceded in death by his parents; brother; sister; and wife.

FUENTES, Gilbert L., 58, of Tucson, passed away on July 29, 2000. He was born January 22, 1942. He is survived by his wife, Rosa R. Fuentes; one son, Gabriel Fuentes, two daughters, Barbara (Efren) Granillo and Mindy Fuentes; three stepchildren, Xavier, Gabriel (Amanda) and Joseph Gracia; five grandchildren; three brothers, Navor (Aurora), Oscar (Nellie) and Ray Fuentes; six sisters, Elena Gauna, Aurora (Joe) Valenzuela, Viola (Tony) Escalante, Frances Romero, Julia (Julio) Gonzalez and Martha (Pablo) Borquez; 33 nieces and nephews; and many other loving friends. He was employed at D.M.A.F. Base by AMARC. He was a past member of American Legion Post #68. He was also an active member of Sheetmetal Workers Union and Club Latino. JAMES ARCHIE 'JIM' GRIFFITH - died July 30, 2000. Born October 11, 1939. A native Arizonan, was raised in Tiger, Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lou Ann Griffith; children, James Archie Cordell Griffith and his wife Patty, Kelly Griffith, Mary Kathryn Whitlock and her husband Michael, Dawn Marie Griffith, Laura Ann Carrillo and her husband Ben; among many grandchildren, Jamie Griffith; sister, Mary Lou Schwab and her husband Steve; also nieces and nephews. preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Lynn Nafei. Jim was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all. 'Little Jim' was a Rockhound extraordinaire and a former employee of Kennecott Corporation in Hayden, AZ. His latest venture was Discount Jewelry and Pawn Shop. Located at the Southgate Shopping Center on 6th Avenue. Jim was surrounded by many circles of friends and family. THOMAS KINCADE HARRELSON, JR

'TOM' passed away at the early age of 81, on July 2, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Harrelson; his son, Thomas K. Harrelson III; his daughters, Gail P. Harrelson and Linda M. Johnston; also his granddaughter, Colleen Rose; and grandsons, Stephen P. and Philip M. Johnston. He has two sisters, Elsie Sumrell and Margaret Hardage, both in North Carolina and Virginia. He was blessed with two great-grandsons, Brian and Austin Rose and a great-granddaughter, Julia Johnston.
Born in Norlina, North Carolina, he was a 1938 graduate of Norlina High School. He served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a longstanding member of the 303rd Bombardment Group 'Hell's Angels', accumulating numerous medals and honors. A career military man, starting in the Army Air Corp. 'I was in the Air Force from balloons to ballistic missiles.' He retired from DMAFB in 1969.
A tireless giver of time, work and energy with his students and enthusiasts of the Rockhound and Lapidary fields. He was a Pima College and Tucson Parks and Recreation lapidary instructor, past President of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society and the Old Pueblo Lapidary Club. 'Old Rockhounds never die, they just petrify.' He coached, managed and umpired with Sahuaro Little League.
He was a kind and loving man, a mentor, a father and a friend to all. A compassionate man but a true jokster with a quick wit.
We love you and will miss you greatly!
HEINTZ, John W., 78, died July 31, 2000. John was born May 14, 1922 in Knoxboro, New York. He attended St. Francis De Sales School in Utica and the Renaurd School of Embalming in New York City. In August of 1946, he married
Eileen Rondeau. They would have celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary on August 10th. For 20 years he owned and operated with his brothers the Heintz Funeral Homes. He was a Charter Member of the Optimist Club in Utica and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Council # 6848. In 1959 he moved to Tucson, Arizona for health reasons and worked for various businesses. He retired in 1978 due to ill health. His parents and his brothers, Joseph, Frederick and Edward Heintz preceded him in death. His wife, Eileen; children, June Aubry (David), Gary Heintz (Jeanne); Colleen Dull (Paul); Jim Heintz (Susie); 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews survive him. Friends may visit between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2nd at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, Tucson, Arizona 85710. BELSHAM, Ronald A., 62, passed away suddenly 30th July 2000. Ron I as he was know to the residents of the east-side 55+ manufactured home park that he and his wife, Barbara, managed, was born in Isleworth, England and immigrated to the U.S. with Barbara 14 years ago. WOLGEMUTH, Verna, age 88, of Tucson, passed away July 29, 2000. Verna served as President for the Tucson Civic Ballet in the late 1960's.
