Ann B. Osterman
Ann B. Osterman, a Kingman resident, died Friday, April 27, 2001, in Seattle, Wash. She was 73.
Mrs. Osterman was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Selma, Ala. She was a daycare operator.
Mrs. Osterman is survived by: her husband John Osterman of Kingman; three sons, John "Sparke" Osterman of Kingman, Chuck Osterman of Kingman, and Carl Osterman of Tempe; one sister, Francis Caldwell of Selma, Ala.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held Friday, May 4, 2001, at St. John's United Methodist Church with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. and funeral services at 2 p.m. The Revs. Ronald Fair and Robert Cutlipp will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Karl E. Leavitt
Karl E. Leavitt, a Dolan Springs resident, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was 62.
Mr. Leavitt was born October 30, 1938, in Mesquite, Nev., to Evan and Edna Leavitt. He graduated from Basic High School in Henderson, Nev., and then served a two-year mission to the Southern states for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mr. Leavitt worked as a firefighter, fire marshal, building inspector and city manager. He retired to Dolan Springs in 1994.
Mr. Leavitt is survived by: his wife of 39 years, Suzanne Taylor Leavitt of Dolan Springs; three sons, Paul Leavitt of Heber City, Utah, Glen Leavitt of Beaverton, Ore., and Jason Leavitt of Henderson, Nev.; four daughters, Deanna Peabody of Beaverton, Ore., Jennifer Leavitt of Seattle, Wash., Trisha Baird of Hurricane, Utah, and Jaimie Woods of St. George, Utah; five sisters, Barbara Rhoads, Eilene Bechtol and Janice Graviet, all of Las Vegas, Nev., Louise Conger of Logandale, Nev., and Carol Seegmiller of St. George, Utah; his mother, Edna Leavitt of Dolan Springs; and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at the LDS church at 610 Eastern Ave., in Kingman, with visitation at 10 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Chloride Cemetery.
Riley Thompson Sr.
Riley Thompson Sr. died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in Kingman. He was 59.
Mr. Thompson was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Henderson, Texas. He was employed as a dock worker for Freight Ways for 30 years.
Mr. Thompson is survived by: his wife, Dorothea Thompson of Kingman; two sons, riley H. Thompson Jr. of Maricopa, Calif., and Russell H. Thompson of Grant, Neb.; one daughter, Lawrenda Stallings of Keystone, Neb.; two brothers, Jodi Thompson of Henderson, Texas, and Donnie Thompson of Longview, Texas; one sister, Shirley Taylor of Henderson, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2001, at Montecito Mortuary in Montecito, Calif. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at the same location. Burial will follow at Montecito Memorial Park.
Larry Keith Eilers
Larry Keith Eilers died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Kingman. He was 31.
Mr. Eilers was born September 13, 1970, in Long Beach, Calif. He moved to Kingman ten months ago from Long Beach. He worked as a P.B.X. operator at Kingman Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Eilers is survived by: his mother, Ramona Waltz of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Helen Duran of Kingman and Rosie Crooks of Ohio; four nephews; and one niece.
No services are planned.
H. Louis 'Hal' Hiser
H. Louis "Hal" Hiser, a former Kingman resident, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, in Phoenix. He was 73.
Mr. Hiser was born September 10, 1927, in Piqua, Ohio. He moved to Kingman in 1968 where he practiced law until his retirement in 1989.
Mr. Hiser is survived by: two daughters, Terri Hiser of Phoenix, and HaliKae Hiser Mack of Kingman; one son, Tony Hiser of Tucson; six grandchildren; two brothers, John Hiser of Phoenix and Ben Hiser of Ohio. His wife Kae, one brother, Ervin Hiser, and one sister, Millie Hiser Haver, all preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001, a t Grace Lutheran Church in Kingman. Following the service a reception will be held at 4089 Gemstone. Brown's Colonial Mortuary in Phoenix will handle cremation.
Charlie Houston Jr.
Charlie Houston Jr. died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, in Kingman. He was 74.
Mr. Houston was born July 19, 1926, in Rogers, Ark. An avid golfer and bowler, he worked as a toolmaker in the medical field and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. Mr. Houston served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during World War II.
Mr. Houston is survived by: his wife Clara Houston of Kingman; two daughters, Loretta Faye Otto of Las Vegas, Nev., and Carol Ann Gawerecki of Hollister, Calif.; one son, Carl Eugene Houston of Buena Park, Calif.; two sisters, Victoria Castleman of Montclair, Calif., and Charlene Holzworth of Brush, Colo.; two brothers, Keith Houston of Zapata, Texas, and Kenneth Houston of Burleson, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001, at First Southern Baptist Church. Rev. Paul G. Daniel will officiate.

Theodore Russel Dalton
Theodore Russel Dalton died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Kingman. He was 87.
Mr. Dalton was born July 21, 1913, in Lead, S.D. He moved to Kingman 75 years ago with his father, a geological engineer.
Mr. Dalton worked as an auto parts clerk, as a deputy with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office under three sheriffs and retired from Citizens Utilities telephone division.
Mr. Dalton is survived by: one niece, Barbara Komada of Flagstaff; and two grand-nephews.
No services are planned. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Jean M. Bench
Jean M. Bench died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, in Kingman. She was 80.
Mrs. Bench was born July 22, 1920, in Malad, Idaho.
A widow, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mrs. Bench was survived by: one sister, Leora M. Dunn of Logan, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Mountain View Cemetery. Bishop Melvin Adams will officiate.
Isaiah Jeremiah Medlock
Isaiah Jeremiah Medlock died Sunday, April 15, 2001, in Kingman. He was three months old.
He was born in Kingman.
Isaiah is survived by: his parents Moses and Pamela Medlock, and one brother, Aaron Medlock, all of Kingman, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His grandparents, Horace Medlock Sr., Marie Coleman Medlock, Ronald Bradley and Lenore Cook Bradley, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2001, at Hilltop Foursquare Church, 2215 Emerson Ave. Pastor Norm Taylor will officiate. A reception will be held at the church following the services. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Richard Ira Wright
Richard Ira Wright died Sunday, April 15, 2001, in Kingman. He was 62.
Mr. Wright was born April 22, 1938, in Wayne County, Mich. The disabled veteran served in the U.S. Marine Corps/Air Force for more than six years during the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Mr. Wright is survived by: two brothers, Donald and Charles; one sister, Barbara; two sons, Richard and Kevin; two daughters, Carrie and Mary; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at noon on Monday, April 23, 2001, at National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix.
