Robert V. Sepetoski
Robert V. Sepetoski died Wednesday, October 13, 1999 in Kingman. He was 58.
Mr. Sepetoski was born Nov. 23, 1940 in Tacoma, Wash. He moved to Kingman five years ago from Concord, Calif. He worked as a data processor. Mr. Sepetoski was a member of the Mohave Gun Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Sepetoski is survived by one sister Patricia Gullman of Kingman; one brother, Wil Sepetoski of Gryon, Switzerland; and many nieces and nephews.
No services are planned. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.
Frederick Botos
Frederick Botos died Tuesday, September 14, 1999 in Dolan Springs. He was 61.
Mr. Botos was born on Nov. 22, 1937 in Santa Monica, Calif.
He was a Yeoman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Botos was a life member of VFW Post No. 9833 in Dolan Springs and a life member of American Legion Post No. 88 in Dolan Springs.
Mr. Botos is survived by: his wife, Valara May (Cowan) Botos of Dolan Springs; one daughter, Frances Ann Botos of Tallalah, Ill.; two sisters, Margaret McLure of Tucson and Carlie Plienenger of Concord, Calif.; one brother, Anthony Botos, Jr. of Grant, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
No services were announced. Cremation was handled by Sutton Crematory.
Lynn A. Nelson
Lynn A. Nelson died Wednesday, October 13, 1999, in Kingman, He was 51.
Mr. Nelson was born Feb. 14, 1948, in Kansas, and was a truck driver.
Mr. Nelson is survived by: his wife, Cathy M. Nelson of Kingman; one daughter, Tanya Vargas of Paonia, Colo., and one grandchild.
No services were announced. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.
Kevin Dean Kemp
Kevin Dean Kemp died Tuesday, October 12, 1999 in Kingman. He was 30.
Mr. Kemp was born on May 29, 1969 in Virginia, Minn. He worked for seven years as a cabinet maker for American Woodmark.
Mr. Kemp is survived by: one son, Michael James Kemp of Fargo, N.D.; his parents, Linda R. Kemp and R. James Kemp, of Kingman; one brother, Jeff Kemp of Kingman; grandmother Hazel Otterson of Twin Valley, Minn.; and one nephew.
Services are private. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.
Hulda Martha Humes
Hulda Martha Humes died Tuesday, October 12, 1999 in Kingman. She was 76.
Mrs. Humes was born on Jan. 19, 1923 in La Junta, Colo.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Manzanita Baptist Church; a former volunteer worker for the republican party; and former volunteer for the Manzanita Baptist Church Christian School.
Mrs. Humes is survived by: her husband, Ivan R. Humes of Kingman; one daughter, Peggy Foskett of Yucaipa, Calif.; two sons, Ralph Humes of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., and Richard Humes of Kingman; two sisters, Freda Wessner of La Junta, Colo., and Tamar Mann of Banning, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today - Thursday, October 14, 1999 - from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 1999 at Manzanita Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to Manzanita Baptist Church.
Otto Selk, Jr.
Otto Selk, Jr. died Monday, October 10, 1999 in Kingman. He was 71.
Mr. Selk was born Nov. 19, 1927 in Sutherland, Iowa. He grew up in Wendell, Minn., and moved back to Sutherland at age 18.
He marriage Carmen Johnson in 1952 in Peterson, Iowa. They lived in Sutherland, Iowa, where Selk worked for the grain elevator as a bookkeeper. They later moved to Everly, where he managed the elevator for five years. Carmen Selk died in 1975.
Mr. Selk marriage Rita Schoening in 1976 in Sutherland, Iowa. They worked as caretakers of the Baumgarten Funeral Home and owned a trucking business. He later worked for Weinrich Trucking in Hinton until his retirement in 1988. He moved to Kingman in 1997 where he worked as a bookkeeper for Chris' Auto Body Shop.
He was a member of the Kingman Presbyterian church. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict. He received the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Combat Star and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Selk was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and American Legion Post No. 152.
Mr. Selk is survived by: his wife, Rita F. Selk of Kingman; five daughters, Connie Goeken of Everly, Iowa, Clarice Dexheimer of Isle, Minn., Judith Nielsen of Kingman, Christine Hunt of Portland, Ore., and Jan Barrios of Kingman; son Martin Schoening of Linn Grove, Iowa; sister De Lores Gunnerson of Chino, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 1999, at Kingman Presbyterian Church. An additional memorial service will be held at the Methodist church in Sutherland at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, 1999. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kingman Area Food Bank.
George E. James
George E. James died Saturday, October 9, 1999 in Kingman. He was 80.
Mr. James was born in Ravi, Okla., on September 27, 1919. Prior to moving to Kingman he lived in Fresno, Calif. He served in the U.S. Navy Seebees and was a heavy equipment operator most of his life.
Mr. James is survived by: three sons, Jesse and Gene James of Kingman and Bobby James of Tennessee; step-daughter Geneva James of Kingman; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, "Monty" and by two brothers and a grandson.
La Vange (Miller) Balizet
La Vange (Miller) died Thursday, October 7, 1999, in Kingman. She was 94.
Mrs. Balizet as born july 25, 1905, in Dunkark, N.Y., and was a former resident of California. She had been employed as a food server in a cafeteria in California.
Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.
Thola "Toby" Pickéll Weber
Thola "Toby" Pickéll Weber died Saturday, October 2, 1999, in Kingman. She was 85.
Mrs. Weber was born Dec. 12, 1912 in Corrigan, Texas, and came to Kingman from Torrance, Calif., 24 years ago. She worked as a production manager for Douglas Aircraft.
Mrs. Weber is survived by: seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
Memorial contributions can be made to any veterans administration branch in honor of her sons Earl and Richard Weber.
Lydia Olivas Stapleton
Lydia Olivas Stapleton died Thursday, October 7, 1999 in Kingman. She was 88.
Mrs. Stapleton was born on August 3, 1911 in Jausco, Mexico.
She worked as a beautician. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Stapleton is survived by: three sons, Ray Olivas of Las Vegas, Nev., Robert Olivas of Kingman, and Paul Stapleton of Oceanside, Calif.; sister Juanita De Parsons of Kingman; brother Joe De Anda of Miami, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m., Friday, October 8, 1999 at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 1999 at the same location.
