THOMAS, Anna Louise, 44, died peacefully April 20, 1999. A native Tucsonan. Anna was born November 25, 1954 to Norma and H.H. "Tommy" Thomas. She is survived by her lifetime partner, Barbara Evans; and sons, Sean and Ryan McClauahan; sisters, Edith (Tom) Cooley and Margaret (Robin McCarty) Thomas; brother, Patric (Bart Shane) Thomas; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Anna graduated from Sahuaro High School in 1972 and joined Flowing Wells Fire Department in 1979, setting the standard for women in firefighting. She spent almost 20 years serving the public in fire protection, rescue and security, the past 12 years at Raytheon Plant Protection and Fire Department.
Her laughter, courageous spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by her family, friends and co-workers.
Memorial services are Friday, April 30, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Northwest Fire District Flowing Wells Fire Department Station 31, 4701 N. La Cholla Blvd., Tucson, AZ. A firefighters funeral procession will precede the memorial services. SCANLON, Joann Jean, 63, passed away at her home in Tucson, AZ, on October 8, 1999. She is survived by her mother, Veronica Zammetti; brother, Paddy & family; sons, John Jr., Patrick, Joseph; and daughter, Annie Scanlon; also survived by granddaughters, Melinda, Jessica, Paula & Joanna. Preceded in death by her father, Pasquale; former husband, Jack; son, James; and brother, Michael.
Joann's life experiences were far reaching having worked for Clairol as a beauty consultant in NYC, stewardess for Eastern Airlines, school secretary at Red Rock Elementary (AZ), religious education teacher in Las Vegas, antique dealer in Virginia, and retired from the CIA in 1996. Outside of the U.S. she has lived in Germany, Kuwait & Africa. Joann volunteered at her church on the cleaning ministry and served as a bereavement minister.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11th from 5:00 To 8:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, 8090 N. Northern Ave., at Magee (742-7901). Mass offered on Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 8650 N. Shannon Rd. Burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.

STEWART MYRICK NORDENSSON, 62, died peacefully at home on October 5, 1999. He was born in Los Angeles on September 29, 1937. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Donna (Vieth) Nordensson and parents, Elsie and Roy Nordensson. He is survived by his service dog, Maria; his brother, Jeffrey (Kathy) Nordensson; sisters-in-law, Janice MacDonnell and Linda Veith (Chris) Low. He is also survived by his nephews, Chris and Tim Nordensson, Stephen and Thomas Adams and Adam and Brennan Low.
Stew grew up in Maryland, Santa Barbara and Tucson. He graduated from Tucson High School in 1955 and attended the University of Arizona.
Stew was a dog trainer for over 50 years. He was the founder of Top Dog, a program that specializes in the teaching of handicapped people to train their own service animals. The program has been recognized nationally as a breakthrough in training for service animals.
Stew co-authored several books on training methods adapted for handicapped service dog owners. He worked nationally as an advocate for programs like Top Dog. He also lectured at international conferences and served on the boards of directors of several national animal training professional associations.
In all his 62 years, there were two constants - his love of animals and his sense of humor. He will be remembered for both. Friends, family and acquaintances are invited to a casual memorial and remembrance at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, at McCormick Park, 3000 N. ORNELAS, Bibiano Mendoza, 68, a mason, died Wednesday, October 06, 1999 at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Francisca; sons, Jesus, Daniel, and Victor; brothers, Florentino, Luis and Pedro Ornelas; sisters, Ernestina and Paula. He was born December 02, 1930 in Rocky Ford, Colorado, the son of Gregorio and Zeferina (Ornelas) Ornelas.
