GONZALEZ, Bernardo Olivas, 60, a farm worker for F.I.C.O., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 09, 2000. Mr. Gonzalez lived in Sahuarita, Arizona for 32 years and was previously from San Agustin D.B. Chihuahua, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Soledad; daughter, Bertha (Abel) Carabajal; son, Roberto Gonzalez; sister, Clarita Martinez; brothers, Isidoro, Guadalupe, Alejandro and Domingo Gonzalez; grandchildren, Angelica, Jessica and Veronica Carabajal and Yesenia Gonzalez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otilio Gonzalez; his mother, Julia Gonzalez; and son, Angel Gonzalez.
He was born September 20, 1939 in San Agustine D.B. Chihuahua, Mexico.
Visitation will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS, on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m on May 11 and rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 12, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Hope.
HERMANN, Sue Elaine, January 13, 1950 - May 10, 2000. Sue passed away on May 10, 2000 as she ended her fight against cancer. She left us for a better place where, as she said, "You can hike and fish as much as you want cause you don't get tired and the sun never sets." She is survived by her mother, Alyn Obregon of L.A.; sister, Patty Woodside; and niece, Jenny of Plano, Texas. She is also survived by her numerous friends including the women of Barnstock, all the hikers and kayakers, skaters, and skiers, the U of A women's sports department and teams, and all her fellow letter carriers and patrons on her downtown route. There will be a gathering of friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2000 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge just south of Speedway. BARBARA McKAY KENDALL, 88, passed away on May 8, 2000, of complications from Parkinson's Disease. She was the wife of Francis Kendall for 65 years, and mother of George Kendall and Joan Hayes, both of San Diego, CA. Grandchildren include David Kendall, Greg and Matt Hayes. Barbara was raised in the San Francisco Bay area and graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1933. Upon her marriage to Fran, they settled in Hanover, NM and then Ground Hog Mine, NM, Silver Bell, AZ, El Paso, TX and Tucson, where they have been for the past 39 years. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, WAAIME and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a loyal and caring friend to many. PACHECO, Joe, 77, died May 9, 2000. Father of Julio, Robert and Joey Pacheco, Frances Freidinger, Rita Gordon and Ava Rodriguez; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two sisters in New Mexico also survive. ANITA N. QUALLE, 70, of Patagonia, AZ, passed away May 09, 2000. She was born July 04, 1929 in Montgomery, Alabama. She is survived by her beloved husband of 17 years, Edward L. Qualle; one son, Phillip (Linda) Meade of Tucson; one daughter, Anita (Hoyt) Jones of Tucson; stepdaughter, Julie (Terry) Gatten of New Orleans; stepson, Jerome Meade of Tucson; sisters, Frances Berry of Montgomery, Alabama, and Myrtle Short of Seattle, Washington; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Phoenix Union High School, served as Vice Mayor of Patagonia two years, Police Commissioner and a member of the Town Council. Anita loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed fishing, boating and camping...she loved the outdoors. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held Friday, May 12, at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. STENBAKKEN, Winslow E., 80, of Tucson, died May 10, 2000. Mr. Stenbakken worked many years as a barber in Tucson. ROBERTA MARY TREMETHICK, 63, of Tucson, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Tremethick; children, William Tremethick, Kimberly Bernstein, Robert Tremethick, Jr., Mary Tremethick, Margaret Hansen, Jacqueline Tremethick, Thomas Tremethick, Geralyn Russell, Rebecca Port, Stephenie Joy Tremethick; 13 grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2000 at St. Pious X. Father Harry and Father Alquin will be officiating. LYLE ALLEN DAUGHERTY, of Green Valley, AZ, passed away at home May 16, 2000 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on February 4, 1931. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. "Jack" and Thelma Daugherty; a sister, Betty Ann Suggs; and spouse, Roberta Corley Daugherty. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy MacDonald Daugherty; children, David A. Daugherty of Castle Rock, CO, Debra L. Brizzee of Englewood, CO, and Dennis L. Daugherty of Duluth, MN; stepchildren, Laura O'Dea, Dan MacDonald, and David MacDonald, all in Colorado.
For many years he was active in the Boy Scouts of America and served as Past Master of Robinson Lodge #250 AF&AM, Robinson, IL. He worked for over 30 years for a major oil company and was considered an expert in the development and operation of experimental pilot plants. He had many degrees and technical degrees in chemistry, electronics, electricity and design.
He was born and raised in Robinson, IL, and moved to Littleton, CO in 1968. He retired in 1986 and lived in Breckenridge, CO, Green Valley and Pinetop, AZ.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 22, 2000 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Green Valley, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Green Valley Mortuary and Memorial Gardens. Interment to be in Littleton, CO.
EPPS, Eunice Wise, died peacefully on May 17, 2000, in Live Oak (San Antonio) Texas, after a short illness. Eunice was survived by her husband, George Epps of Spring Branch, Texas; and her sister, Mabel Willey of Porterville, California. Eunice had been actively involved in Wise Trucking, originally in Los Angeles, California, and later in Nogales, Arizona, with her first husband, George Wise. She was very active and supportive of Seventh Day Adventist Church of Green Valley, Arizona, and in both the Arizona Conference and the National Conference of her church. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Seventh Day Adventist Church of Green Valley, 1475 West Via de Chapala. In lieu of flowers, remembrances are requested to be made to her church.
MITCHELL, Marie L., 81, passed away May 18, 2000 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born in St. Anne, IL on May 06, 1919. She is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years of marriage, Leonard R. Mitchell; two sons, Michael D. and Larry W. Mitchell; two daughters, Karen A. (Edward) Perez, and Marilyn J. Kolp; one brother, George (Norma) Langellier, Sr.; two sisters, Phyllis McIntyre and Doreen Regnier; two nephews, George Langellier, Jr. and John Langellier; one niece, Donnita Bertegnolli. MOLINARO, Vincent J., 84, died May 18, 2000. Resident of Tucson the past 13 years, moving here from Poughkeepsie, NY. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Marion; son, Vincent Molinaro; daughter, Patricia Liefer; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many friends.
