DIETRICH, Angela, 20, of Cloverdale, OH, formerly of Tucson, died March 2, 1996 in an automobile accident. Survived by parents, Michael and Donna (Erbst) Dietrich of Tucson; three brothers, Danon, Zachary and Caleb Dietrich, all of Tucson; one sister, Carla Dietrich of Lima, OH; paternal grandmother, Rosemary Dietrich of Lima, OH; maternal grandmother, Marge Erbst Travis of Tucson. Memorial Services Monday, March 18 at 4:00 p.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 600 N. Kolb Rd.
DOUGHERTY, Rodger Winston, died on March 14, 1996 in his home. A resident of Tucson since 1978, he was a member of Skyline Country Club.
He was born March 26, 1914 in Portland, OR and graduated from Washington State University, where he was an intercollegiate golf champion and received All American football honors. He was the West Quarterback in the 1937 East West Shrine game and a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He served as a gunnery officer in the US Navy from 1941 to 1945.
He resided in Salt Lake City, Utah from 1939 to 1957, and in Denver, Colorado from 1957 to 1978. While living in Denver he was president of Rodg Dougherty and Co., founder and first president of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, founder and first president of the Falcon Quarterback Club, and sports broadcaster of AFA football games. He was chairman of the Denver Chamber of Commerce Sports Committee, the Denver Denvoys, and Chamber of Commerce Speakers Bureau; chairman of the 1976 USGA National Junior Golf Championship at Hiwan Country Club; served two terms as president of the Denver Society for Crippled Children and Adults; and was the building chairman for Sewall Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of Hiwan Country Club and Valley Country Club. At the time of his death he was a member of the Denver Press Club and the Ramhockie Squire.
Preceded in death by a son, Ted; he is survived by sister, Helen Shillock of Portland, OR; wife, Beverly; sons, Rodger Jr., Steven, Greg; and daughter, Kit, all of Tucson; son Bert of Boulder, CO; daughters, Marsha of Seattle, WA, and Nicki Dougherty Creekmore of Maui, HI; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

FARLEY, Judge Gordon, 87 years old, rendered his last decision March 12th, 1996. Born in 1908 in the U.P. of Michigan he moved with his family to Patagonia, AZ at the age of nine where his father worked in the mines. Growing up in Patagonia gave him a special fondness for the place. He graduated from the University of Arizona and the University of Arizona College of Law in the early 1930's and was elected shortly thereafter to serve in the Arizona State Legislature. Later he was appointed City Attorney for Nogales, AZ and subsequently was elected as Superior Court Judge for Santa Cruz County in 1938 while he was only 29 years and served in that position for 40 years. The judge belonged to several civic and fraternal organizations including B.P.O.E. Elks #1397, Knights of Pythias, and Rotary Club International. During the course of his life he worked as a miner, pool hall boy, mechanic, dishwasher and waiter, Census Bureau taker, U.S. Commissioner, judge, and county lawyer. When he retired as judge in 1978 he worked in private practice and later as a volunteer for Legal Aid. Gordon enjoyed life in general, but in particular his passions were politics, golf, poker, travel, good bourbon, and above all his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Virginia Sayre Farley in 1985. Survived by children, Carolyn Farley, Diane Farley Van Matre, Robert Farley (Cathy); and grandchildren, David Farley, Laura Van Matre, Gordon Farley, Vincent Farley; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at ADAIR’S CARROON MORTUARY in Nogales, AZ on Saturday, March 16 at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or American Red Cross.
MARCHUS, Terri Lynn, 29, of Tucson, died March 13, 1996. TREU, Hazel C. Lundquist, 67, a native Arizonan, passed away March 13, 1996. She was born in Globe, AZ, December 16, 1928 and grew up in Pantano, AZ. She attend school in Pantano, Amphitheater district, and graduated form Benson Union High School in 1946. She lived in Tucson since 1952, where she was a homemaker until she began working for the State of Arizona Motor Vehicle Division. She retired from the State in 1991 after 13 years. Hazel enjoyed bowling, crafts, camping, fishing, and most of all spending time with her family. She loved her children very much and will be greatly missed by Darrell (Laurie), Gary and Catherine, all of Tucson. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Travis, and Jalynn; sister, Maybelle (Wallace) Yeomans of Cortez, CO, Alice Longmore of Idaho Falls, ID, Beryl Bynum of Tucson; and brother, George (Betty) Lundquist of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Alice (Weisbeck) Lundquist, and brothers, Wallace (Vera), Emmett (Donna) and Harry Lundquist. ANGLIN, Marshall Kitch, 87, of Riverview Health Care, formerly of Tucson, AZ, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 1996, at the health-care center. Born March 6, 1909 in Etna Green, IN to Washington Irving and Grace Kitch Anglin, he married Margaret Rose on December 12, 1931 in Greensburg, IN. She died September 10, 1987, in Tucson. He also was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Surviving are two sons, Edgar of Metamora and George of Denver; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four brothers, Dallas of Clunette, IN, W. Don and John, both of Warsaw, IN and Wendel of Leesburg, FL. He was a self-employed building contractor in Tucson for many years. He was a charter member of the Dove of Peace Lutheran Church in Tucson.
BIRD, Mary Therese (Tess), 59, was taken by the Lord unto his bosom March 14, 1996. Born to George and Mary Prestil September 7, 1936 in Ashland, WI. Survived by sons, David Tibbits of Mellen, WI, Donald Tibbits of Stoughton, WI, Douglas and Thomas Tibbits of Ligonier, IN; sisters, Francis Sharron of Naples, FL, Carole Florio of Tucson, AZ, and Marcie Hillert of Hazelhurst, WI; brothers, John Prestil of Kansas City, MO and Fabian Prestil of Janesveille, WI; 14 grandchildren. Mary moved to Arizona from Wisconsin in 1981. married her husband, George Bird in 1992. Mary was a healthcare provider and homemaker. She was a very devout Catholic. Mary enjoyed crafts, square dancing, traveling, fishing and most of all people. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, 1996 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 3201 E. Presidio.
