WARD, Juan R., 80, of Tucson, passed away March 28, 1996. He is preceded in death by his wife, Petra. Survived by daughter, Irene Amparano; granddaughter, Athena Amparano; sons, Danny (Jan Albanese) and David (Anna Amelia) Ward. Also survived by sister, Magdalena Duran; and brother, Gilbert Granillo; with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren also surviving. He was a lifetime member of the Bushmasters, Fathers Club, Latin American Social Club and American Legion Post #68. He is also survived by daughter, Margarita Martinez; sons, John Borquez, Richard Sandoval and Johnny Torres. BEAVER, COL. Authney Wayne, died on March 29, 1996 in Tucson. He was born in Fresno, CA in April 1914. He entered the Army in 1930 as a member of the mounted calvary for three years at Ft. Riley, KS he reentered the Army Air Core several years later serving in the China-Burma-India Theater. During WWII his final military position was as the Vice Commander of the Air Force Accounting and Financial Center in Denver. He was a driving force in the automation and computerization of air force financial records, keeping with one result, being the pay by check payroll system for enlisted personnel. Col. Beaver was awarded the Legion of Merit by General Curtis E. LeMay and also received the Bronze Star and Air Force Commendation Medals. He retired from active duty in 1962 after serving his country for 29 years. After retiring from the Air Force he worked in Denver for 13 years for Laman Communications, an advertising company, as the production manager. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sara Jeanette whom he married in Long Beach, CA, they moved to Tucson in 1976. For many years his friends and neighbors elected him treasurer of their Condominium Home Owners Association. He has one surviving sister, Irene Britton of Redwood City, CA. He is the beloved father of Janice Crane of Scottsdale, Kay Dean Greg of Seattle and Stephen Beaver of Albuquerque. He has eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Heart association, 5325 E Pima, Tucson, AZ 85712 would be appreciated. Funeral at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 1996 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. MOORE, Cora “Nana’, 100 years in loving memory went to be with her Heavenly Father March 30, 1996. She was born in Davis, WV August 29, 1895 and lived most of her life in Dayton and Jamestown, OH. JOURNEY, Shiela Baker, former Tucson resident, died March 29, 1996 in Richardson, Texas. She was 86. She was born December 13, 1909 in Silverton, CO to Andrew Jackson and Goldie Baker. In 1923 she moved with her family from St. David, AZ to Tucson where she graduated from Tucson High School and the University of Arizona. Mrs. Journey retired in 1976 from the Agricultural Extension Service at the University of Arizona where she had worked for 35 years. She was active in the Chi Omega Alumnae Association and the First Christian Church. In 1933 she married Ray Journey, who died in Tucson in 1991. Mrs. Journey is survived by a son, John of Richardson, TX; two daughters, Paula Shamoian of Larchmont, NY and Sandra Ziemer of Lake Stevens, WA; a sister, Nancy Cook of Branden, OR; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. KONINGSOR, Robert Leon, passed away March 31, 1996. Robert was the beloved husband of Veronica D. (Harig) for 54 years. He was 74. Survived by loving wife, Veronica; father of Robert Jr. (Marylee), Kenneth (Deborah), Roy (Jackie), Don, Rex and Bart (Winn). Also survived by 14 grandchildren. Mr. Koningsor was a retired Telephone Pioneer and served as an officer for the Tucson Police Departments Reserve program. Memorial Services are pending. MEDINA, Bernard L. “Beaver’ a resident of Tucson for the past 11 years, passed away March 27, 1996 in Tucson, at the age of 65. Mr. Medina was previously a member of the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked for many years in the used car business and previous to that, the wholesale grocery business. Mr. Medina is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Bernice and Yolanda; son, Bernard; sisters, Stella and Ofelia; brother, John; numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. SCHIAVONE, Leonard C., 91, formerly of Syracuse, died March 29, 1996 in his daughter’s house in Arizona. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he was raised in San Marc La Catola, Italy and then lived in Syracuse from 1920 until 1990, then moved to Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Schiavone retired from Brezee Chevt after 56 years as a manager of the paint department. He was a communicant of St. Daniel’s Church when he was in Syracuse. He is survived by his wife, Elinor Colaneri Schiavone; his son, Michael Schiavone of FL; his daughter, Mary Anne Schiavone; five grandchildren and four Great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from Farone and Son, Inc., Funeral Home, Syracuse, NY, 315-422-1911, and 9:00 a.m. at St. Daniel’s Church.
