He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; son, Gerald (Eileen) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Sharon (Dan) Stover, Amy Eisenstein, Steven Eisenstein (Deane Brown), Julie Eisenstein; great granddaughter, Leah Ruth Stover; brother, Norman (Shirley) Eisenstein; sisters, Pearl Levin of Chicago, IL, Elaine (Murray) Kaplan of Evanston, IL. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. (1 block N. of Grant) with Rabbi Jeffrey Ronald officiating. Interment will take place in Chicago, IL. Directed by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

ERTEL, Anna, 76, of Tucson, died April 7, 1996. Survivors include two sons, David, John (Jerrie); one grandson, Jerhen; one granddaughter, Jorrie; one brother, Joseph Hriczo. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9. Funeral Services will be at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10 with Fr. Bill officiating. Burial Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

ESQUEDA, Lena Ponce, a lifetime resident of Arizona, passed away April 6, 1996 in Tucson, at the age of 72. Born April 16, 1923 in Morenci, AZ. She was a born again Christian. Survived by her daughters, Natalia Rojas, Mollie (Alberto) Vargas, Cecilia E. Leon, Lillian Esqueda and Patricia Mason; 26 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 1996 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

GARZA, Roberto (Bobby) Anaya, 42, of Tucson, passed away April 5, 1996. He was preceded in death by his father, Reynaldo R. Garza. He is survived by his mother, Juanita A. Garza; sons, Roberto, Jr., Adrain (Becky), Daniel Garza; sisters, Irene (Marc) Goodman, Irma (Donald) Borquez, Evelyn (Frank) Quiroz; brothers, Reynaldo, Jr. (Carmen), Richard (Cecilia), Miguel, and George (Stella) Garza. Also survived by four grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 1996 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Thursday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m., St. John’s Church, 602 N. Ajo Way. Interment to follow at South Lawn Cemetery. JAMESON, Don, 74, passed away suddenly after a very brief illness on April 6, 1996. Husband of Betty Jo Jameson; father of Bob (Cindy) Jameson, Barbara (Don) Bergman and Bill (Julie) Jameson, all of Tucson; grandfather of Donna and Cody; numerous other relatives and friends also survive. He was owner of Jameson Sporting Goods Store and owner of Tucson Cowboys Professional Baseball Team. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 1996 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with Rev. Howard Higgins officiating. Friends may call at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday April 10 until service time at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers donations to the Humane Society of Tucson, 3450 N Kelvin Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716 would be appreciated.

LARSON, Verne G., 82, of Tucson, entered God’s eternal garden April 6, 1996. Beloved husband, father and grandfather is survived by his wife, Beth Larson; daughters, Gail (James) Underwood, Gay (Michael) Polivchak, Dale Overduin of CA; grandchildren, Devon and Lauren Underwood, Cory, Casey and Katelyn Polivchak; sisters, Esther and Olga of MN; many nieces and nephews and an abundance of special friends. Verne retired in 1959 from the FAA Tucson; in 1961 he was employed with the City of Tucson and retired in 1976 as a Communications Supervisor. He was a kind and gentle man and he will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11 at the Agua Caliente Park. Donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospice.

MORENO, Richard F., 77, of Tucson, passed away Good Friday, April 5, 1996. Survived by wife, Celia; sons, Very Reverend James Moreno of Denver, CO, Fred (Carmen) Moreno of Tucson, Mario (Melissa) Moreno of Cortez, CO, Robert (Carmen) Moreno of Tucson; daughter, Esther (Oscar) Molina of Tucson; brother, Alejandro Moreno of Tucson; sisters, Celia Duran and Lupe Martinez, both of Tucson; also nine grandchildren. Visitation at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tuesday, April 9th 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Monica’s Church, Wednesday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m.

STURM, Susie, age 86, of Tucson, died April 5, 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Arlene and many relatives and friends. Burial will be in Smithtown, NY at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Antonia M. Alvarez; father, Cipriano Alvarez; sons, Freddy M. Alvarez, Jr., Hector M. Alvarez; daughters, Pauline M. Alvarez, Natalia M. Alvarez; nieces and nephews, Julia, Nick, Anna and Veronica; brother, Albert (Geraldine) Alvarez, Jose (Lourdes) Matus, Robert (Olivia) Hernandez; sister, Ernestina Matus. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; brother-in-laws, Ramon (Victoria) Molina, Armando (Carlota) Molina; sister-in-laws, Victoria (Jose) Alvarez, Salvadora (Isaias) Estrella, Isabel (Moses) Valencia; mother-in-law, Julia Molina. Visitation will be on Friday, April 12, 1996 beginning at 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary being said at 7:00 p.m. at San Martin Catholic Church. Mass will be Saturday, April 13, 1996 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvario Cemetery. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

ATWILL, Fenwick C., 77, of Arden Hills, MN, a visitor of Tucson, passed away April 9, 1996. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. at St. Philip’s In The Foothills Church. EHNERT, Rose M., 88, of Tucson, a homemaker and former escrow secretary, died April 6, 1996 in Phoenix. Born in Waukegan, IL. Preceded in death by husband, Ray and brothers, Lawrence and Steve. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Conner; granddaughter, Victoria Lynn; and grandson, James Russell Conner. No services are planned. FISHER, Delfina M., 71, of Tucson, passed away April 9, 1996. Survived by daughters, Mary Elizabeth Harris, Patricia (Tim) Knutson; sisters, Cora Eyrich, Mary Helen Allison; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 1996 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (Center Chapel), 240 S. FRANKLIN, Geraldine (nee Konz), 77, formerly of Tucson, AZ, passed away at her home in California on Monday, April 1, 1996. She is survived by nine of her children, Bruce, LuAnn, Stephanie, John, Geraldine, Elizabeth, George, Joseph, and Laura; and her sister, Mary Fisher. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Irving and her son, Christopher. She was remembered at Holy Thursday services at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church on April 4. Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead, NY with her beloved Irving.

GARDNER, John Joseph, 36, passed away Monday, April 8, 1996. Loving husband of Gale (Josie); father of Mathew and Alyssa Rose, all of Pullman, WA; beloved son of Alice Rose and Andrew Gardner (deceased) of Tucson; son-in-law, of Shirley Lisle of England; brother to Andrew Gardner (Donna) of Tucson, Alice Cook (Dennis-deceased) of Tucson, James T. Gardner (Gwen) of CO, Mary Ann Mason (Bill) of Tucson, Judy Edwards (Forrest) of AK; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. John was a graduate student at Washington State University and Flowing Wells High School in Tucson. Memorial Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Friday, April 12th at 10:00 a.m. Masses appreciated.

KENLEY, Elaine M., 73, of Tucson, died April 9, 1996. She was a member of The Chicago Lyric Opera and the Barrington Womens Club. She is survived by husband, Melvin L. Kenley of Tucson; sons, Richard A. Kenley of San Diego, CA, Rodney S. Kenley of Libertyville, IL; sister, Suzanne Stallsworth of Arlington, TX; six grandchildren. Memorial Service Friday 11:00 a.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY with Dr. Mark L. Koehler of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church officiating. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

KITTELL, Larry Waite, Jr., 33, Beloved son of Larry W. (Susan) Kittell, and Sydney R. McPherson (Michael) Rogers entered into God’s Eternal Peace on Tuesday, April 9, 1996 in Sonoma, CA. Larry is survived by grandmother, Katherine L. Kittell; grandparents, Gertrude and Mackey McPherson; faithful friend, Jose Valencia; uncle, Gary D. (Pat) Kittell; aunts, Dr. G. Denice (Robert) Smith and Shella Mcpherson; brother, Edward A. Kittell; sister, Katrina F. Kittell; cousins, Valerie L. and Andrea E. Kittell. A memorial celebrating Larry’s life will be held at his father’s home, Friday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ryan White Children’s Fund or Northwest Interfaith Centers – Meals on Wheels.

PREDMORE-BUTLER, Lucinda Mickelsen, September, 6, 1941 – March 31, 1996. Mrs. Predmore-Butler, 54, of Modesto, CA passed away at her home after a short illness Sunday, March 31, 1996. Lucinda was a native of Tucson but had lived in Modesto for the past 27 years. She received her B.A. from the U of A in 1963 and her Masters in Library Science in 1967. She was a librarian for Modesto City Schools for 20 years. When she lived in Tucson she was active in Girl Scouts, and a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member of the Sylvan Club of Modesto and also the Squab Producers of California. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Predmore of Waterford, CA; a sister, Marilyn (May) Warren of Elsah, IL; and one granddaughter. There was a private family funeral held at Turlock Memorial Park, Turlock, CA on Friday, April 5, 1996.
