WOLFARTH, Harvey M., age 69, died June 8, 1996. He was born November 25, 1926 in Fostoria, OH to Harvey and Emma Wolfarth. He married Patricia Howard, June 5, 1948, and she survives along with three sons, Michael, New York City, Kim (Marilyn), Tucson, Terry, Tucson; and granddaughter, Emily Ann, Tucson; sister, Carolyn (Jerry), Fostoria, OH; brother, John (Jan), Fostoria, OH; half-brother, Bob (Mick), Toledo, OH; and sisters-in-law, Glenna and Peg, Fostoria, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Art, half-brother, Bill. Internment to be private at Holy Hope Cemetery. Memorial Mass at Saints Peter and Paul on Saturday, 15 June, at 11:00 a.m. Harvey was a graduate of Ohio State University, College of Pharmacy in 1951. Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Southern Arizona Chapter, P.O. Box 13423, Tucson, AZ 85732-3423 or to the donors choice.

GORDON, Major K., age 59. Born March 31, 1937 in Monroe, LA. His home going was June 5th, 1996. Mr. Gordon was a longtime resident of Tucson who served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the D.A.V. He retired from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. A visitation will be held today from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Final rights will be held at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, Tuesday, June 11th at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ronnie Yokum officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. PIETZ, Thelma K., 88, of Tucson, died June 6, 1996. She is survived by her husband, Oswald F.; son, John (Margaret) Kneip of Whiting, NJ; four grandchildren; sister, Mabel Kirshner of Kinston, NY. ROSENBERG, Suzanne A., 66, died June 8, 1996 following a long, valiant, battle against cancer. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Irving; and her four children, Jeffrey, Robert (Marci), Philip (Mindy), and Lisa (Doug). She is also survived by her sister Francine Shafton (Morton); her brother, Frank Aries; and her four loving grandchildren, Jacob, Anna, Andrew, and Micah. Her wisdom, counsel, exceptional wit, and humor, as well as her profound devotion to family and friends, will be dearly missed. She was a classy lady, the likes of which we will not see again anytime soon. Services Monday, 11:00 a.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, Interment to follow Anshei Israel Section, EVERGREEN CEMETERY, N. SANTORO, Joseph T., 81, died June 8, 1996. Father of Jim (Elizabeth) Santoro of NE and Marijo Santoro of Tucson; grandfather of Andrea Santoro of MO and Peter Santoro of NE; great-grandfather of Jade Santoro of NE; three sisters also survive. He was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Graveside Service at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 1996 at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery with Father Bob Thomas officiating. UNDERHILL, Thelma T., 80 years old, died Thursday, June 6, 1996 in Tucson. Survived by daughter, Marilyn Hardesty of Tucson; son, James (Trisha) B. Underhill of Columbia, SC; three grandson, Chip (Anne) Hardesty of Tucson, David (Colette) Hardesty of Oakland, CA, Crain (Karen) Hardesty of Boise, ID; two great grandchildren, Ashley and Aubrey Hardesty of Tucson. BROCK, Rickey D., 37, of Bisbee, AZ, died June 6, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Bonita; children, Nita, Andrea and Rickey Jr.; parents, Charles and Lucille Brock; sister, Rosa Elaine Stofan; brothers, Charlie, Harvey and Tommy Brock. DON, John Wing, of Tucson, died June 3, 1996. He was 88 years old. He is survived by son, Newton of San Francisco; and daughter, Yvonne; and son-in-law, Richard Shrieve, of Hong Kong; and two grandchildren, Maxwell and Peter Shrieve-Don. He had survived his wife, Rose, who passed away on February 6, 1996. Born in Toi Shan China, Johnny was the eldest of four children of Hing Don and Shee Ching Chinn. Johnny came to Tucson in 1920. He married Rose S. Chinn of San Francisco in 1938 and established a small grocery store. During WWII, he was drafted into the US Army and was honorably discharged in December 1945. After the war, the business at Don’s Market prospered. He moved the business to a larger store, Silverbell market and retired in 1978. Called “Manguey’ by many. His life established many long and warm friendships. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 11:00 a.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY at Oracle and Ft. Lowell. Viewing will be available at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice in Johnny’s name.

FAULK, Robert W., age 55, of Tucson, went to meet the Lord on June 4, 1996. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Marilee; daughters, Jacqueline (Thomas) Gordon and Sandra (Todd) Becker; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie and Nicholas; father, Howard; brother, Edward (Sharon); father-in-law, Louis; and friends, Gloria and Dominic. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Faulk was an electrical contractor and a member of N.E.C.A. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 1996. HARDMAN, Thomas L. Tom was born March 1, 1968, in Menomonie, WI, the son of Robert R. and Elizabeth C. (Lewis) Hardman. He graduated from the University of Northern University High School in 1986 and attended both North Iowa Area Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. He was employed at Co-op Records in Cedar Falls, IA and later at the Moon Smoke Shop in Tucson, AZ. He was active in drama in both high school and college and played both guitar and bass in his own band. Tom is survived by his parents of Cedar Falls, IA; one brother, Clint G. of Cedar Falls, IA; maternal grandfather, George L. Lewis of Romney, WV; and his fiancee, Cynthia Adkins of Tucson, AZ. Tom died Thursday, May 30, 1996, in Tucson, after being fatally wounded when accosted by two robbers at his place of employment. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter L. and Stella B. Hardman; and his maternal grandmother, Annabelle S. Lewis. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, IA. Inurnment will occur in the Fairview Cemetery also in Cedar Falls. Memorial to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, 1166 W. Airline Highway, Waterloo, IA 50703. Arrangements by Richardson Funeral Home (319) 266-3525.

MAROE, Betty L., 73, of Tucson, died June 5, 1996. Survivors include her children, Mark (Daran) Wilson, Greg Wilson and companion, Michael Fink, Ferd Maroe Jr., Denise (Greg) Miller, Joe (Debbie) Maroe, Tim (Lori) Maroe, Debbie (John) Bone; four grandchildren; sister, LaVon Anderson; and brother, Robert Dodd . MATHIS, Ronald Edward, 65, of Tucson, died Wednesday, June 5, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Fran; sons, Scott Mathis of Bay Village, OH, Steve Mathis of Tucson; grandchildren, Emma Mathis, Parker Mathis, Lucy Mathis, all of Bay Village, OH; and sister, Rawnie Dawson of Oregon, IL. Mr. Mathis retired in 1995 as the Director of the R.U.C.O. after 10 years of service with the State of Arizona. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 1996 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 5325 E. PATRICK, Therman L., Lt. Col., USAF Retired, 79, died May 31, 1996. Survived by his wife, Lois Carol Patrick; daughters, Anne Patrick Trombley and Gail Patrick Hilliard; grandsons, Michael Trombley and Travis Hilliard; brothers James, Havres (Joanne), and Barney; sisters Bessie Moore and Shirley (George) Merchant; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters Gladys Nutt, Alene Bankston, and Janelle Rogers. Son of Charles and Ida Wallace Patrick, Therman was born on October 22, 1916 in Beach, Mississippi. As a boy, he worked on the family farm. He played basketball, baseball, and football to help pay his way to attend Hinds Junior College; taught school in Mississippi; and had a country music show on the radio with a sister and brother-in-law, prior to joining the Army Air Corps in 1940. “Pat, ’ as he became knows after leaving home, married Carol in October, 1941 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. En route to the Philippines when Pearl Harbor was attacked, Pat returned to train in Florida, and then served as a pilot in the Pacific during World War II; he later trained pilots at Rattlesnake AFB, Texas; served as an air traffic controller during the Berlin Air Lift; and served as an air traffic controller again in Korea during the Korean War. He retired from service at Davis-Monthan AFB in 1961 and went to work for the City of Tucson as a weights and measures inspector and later as a communications dispatcher. Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, and, in his retirement, golfing with friends, gardening, playing cards, and whistling. The family thanks the staffs at El Dorado Hospital, TMC Hospice Program, and the VA Hospice Unit for the comfort care they provided during Mr. Patrick’s final illness. In accordance with Mr. Patrick’s wishes, there will be no services.

PREBULA, Elinor V., 78, of Tucson, died June 6, 1996. Mother of Thomas J. Prebula of Boise, ID, Barbara E. Manuel of Gunshot, AZ, Jacque L. Prebula of Flagstaff, AZ, Nancy R. Canez of Morenci, AZ, Deborah B. Whiddon of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild. ROBERTSON, Helen J., 76, went to be with the Lord June 4, 1996. Survived by son, Lester W. (Jeanne) Robertson II; daughters, Patricia A. Robertson, Crystal A. Hanford and Penni J. (Dwyer) Barry; sisters, Shirley Zeigler and Elaine Hanson; brother, Gerald Peddy; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jason Robertson and Julie Kittle, Cassidy Hanford, Dylan and Megan Barry; great grandchild, Jourdan Robertson. Preceded in death by husband, Lester (Bill) Robertson; sister, Jeanette Baumgartner; and grandchildren Ferel Wayne and Sedona Paige Barry. Devoted wife of 42 years of Norbitt Thornsberry of Tucson; beloved mother of Pamela Thornsberry of Tempe, Dale Thornsberry of Tucson, Timothy Thornsberry of PA and Jeff Thornsberry of Tucson; cherished grandmother of Dale, Christina, April, Amber, Angela, Andrea, Michelle, T.J., Kera and Todd. FORD, Helen L., 85, died June 6, 1996. Survived by her sons, Roger A. and Kenneth E. Ford; a sister, Eunice Jeffords; also five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. MUMMA, Adamae, 88, died June 6, 1996. She is the wife of Colgan T. (Bud) Mumma. Born in Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Harvey Louis and Lucy (Le Master) McCoy. She graduated with a major in English from The University of Arizona in 1929 where she was a three sport varsity athlete and a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Before moving to Framingham, MA in 1931 she taught physical education in Yuma, AZ. She was active in community affairs as well as an accomplished artist with emphasis on stenciling, needlework and painting. She and her husband returned to Tucson in 1985. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Gordon Mumma of Santa Cruz, CA; one daughter, Karen Palmer of Framingham, MA; two grandsons, Christopher and Jonathan Mumma of Santa Cruz, CA; one granddaughter, Alexis Palmer of Framingham, MA. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
