DEUBERT, Walter F., 72, passed away Monday, May 27, 1996 after a struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Rita; son, Frederick (Veronica) Deubert; daughters, Geraldine (Ed) Gryczkowski, Lorraine (Mark) Halberg, all of Tucson. Daughter, Louise (Paul) Calabrese of NY. He leaves 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also survived by extended family, Sara (Todd) Clifton of NC, Tara Burge and David Swaim, Lana (Greg) Meell, of Phoenix, Mark (Wendi) Stamps of Tucson. Also five grandchildren and one expected. He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret (Margie) J. Deubert, March 1985. No funeral will be held at Walt’s request. Arrangements by Desert Rose Cremation and Burial. Memorial Services to be announced at a later date. Remembrances may be made to VA Hospice, TMC Hospice, Rolling Hills Golf Course Memorial Fund or UMC Cancer Research Center.

DIETRICH, Margaret J., 65, died May 24, 1996. Wife of Donald Dietrich of Tucson; mother of Bernadette (Fernando) Morgan of IL, Albert (Cara) Dietrich of CA, Thomas Dietrich of Tucson and Rosemary (Daryl) Swinson of ARK; grandmother of Hasten and Claire Morgan, Kara and Brandon Swinson and Kilara and Austin Dietrich; brothers, Vincent, Donald and Paul Fairbrother also survive. Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 1996 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. Scripture Reading will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 1996 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 1996 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

DISHON, Helen, 82, of Green Valley, died April 25, 1996. Survived by husband, James Omar Dishon; daughter, Mary G. Kelley of Tucson; step-sons, Robert Mason of TX, William Mason of GA, James Scott Dishon of Tucson; stepdaughters, Susan Secrist of Phoenix and Mary Beth Taylor of FL. Also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Helen will be missed by her many friends and family. She will be remembered for her love of the Catalinas and Arizona sunsets. Helen was a retired registered nurse and worked many years for Tucson Clinic. Memorial Services will be held May 31, 1996 at 2:30 p.m. at Pueblo Estates Recreation Center, Green Valley. Family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Friends in Deed, Green Valley.

DRUCKMAN, Carl Lewis, 37, formerly of Tucson, passed away at his home in Sante Fe, NM on May 24, 1996. Carl is survived by his mother, Susan Laventhol Siege of Tucson; his father, H. Lee Druckman of La Jolla, CA; and his brother, Gary Druckman of Park City, UT. He is also survived by two uncles, Henry and Richard Laventhol; and cousin, Alison Laventhol. Carl attended Sam Hughes Elementary, Mansfield Junior High, Tucson High School and Greenfields while later studying in Europe and elsewhere in the US. His varied creative interests ranged from textiles to metalwork and gemology. As a Certified Colored Stone gemologist, Carl helped found Studio CLD, for which his designs of fine jewelry received international recognition. Friends are cordially invited to attend a memorial service to be held Thursday, May 30th at 6:30 p.m. at the family’s Tucson residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Southwest C.A.R.E Clinic, 230 W. Manhattan #300, Sante Fe, NM 85701; to the New Mexico AIDS Services, 1229 S. St. Francis – Suite C, Sante Fe, NM 85705; or to a local AIDS agency of your choice.

HAWKINS, George J., 78 years old, died May 25, 1996. He is survived by wife, Cindy; daughters, Georgianna, Patricia (Steve) Clark; sister, Harriett McBride; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is a WWII Veteran. Memorial Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. June 8, 1996 at Marana Community Church in Marana. The family suggests any donation/contributions be made to the Church in George’s name. HOSLER, Sylvester B. “Bum’, 57, died May 28, 1996. Husband of Jane Hosler; father of Corey Hosler, Sr., Toni Hosler, and Mark Hosler, all of Tucson; grandfather of Ben Parker, Tarauna Hosler, Nicky Hosler, Christy Parker and Corey Hosler, Jr.; great grandfather of Benjamin Carlise Parker, all of Tucson; brother of Calvin Hosler, Rhoda Whitcomb, Ginny Reuhle, Dottie Baron, and Lydia Smitley, all of OH. “Bum’ moved to Tucson in 1978 and spent 14 years with Van Waters and Rogers. He was a member of the Model “A’ Club Tucson Chapter and the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Carondelet Hospice Program or the U of A Cancer Research Center. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Calvary Assembly of God, 4540 S. Tucson Estates Parkway, with Pastor M. D. McCartt officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott, and one hour prior to service time at church.

HUMPHREY, Lois, daughter of Ed and Marie Helmers, died suddenly on May 27, 1996. She was born on April 16, 1918 in Missoula, MT. Lois was a strong, intelligent and fiercely independent woman who lived life to the fullest. She dedicated her life to helping the cause of women and families throughout the world. She was leader of Home Economics Adult Education at Opportunity School in Denver, then director of Home Economics Extension in Colorado and later Michigan. She received a doctoral degree from MSU in 1969 and carried her career to the Sudan in 1980, Papua New Guinea in 1984 and Swaziland in 1986. Sons Michael and Russell would appreciate the opportunity to meet her friends and share memories of Lois. Her house will be opened to friends on Thursday, May 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.(888-4356).

KANE, Grover V., passed away in peace on May 25, 1996 in Tucson, after a bout with cancer. He was preceded in death by “Tommye, ’ his wife of 38 years. Survived by loving companion Carolyn Kane; son, Ross Kane of Patagonia; daughters, Marguerite Lackey and Robin (Jim) Gierhart of Buckhorn, NM; sisters, Francis (Bob) Strunk, Joan (Tom) Wood; grandchildren, Troy, Kita, Will and Tommye; great grandson, Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Grover was born in Patagonia August 3, 1922. Services will take place Thursday, May 30 at 3:00 p.m. at the gazebo in the center of Patagonia. Family suggests donations be made to Hospice Family Care, 1920 W. Rudasill, Tucson, AZ 85704 or Family Health Center, P.O. Box 645, Patagonia, AZ 85624.

KING, Francis W. “Frank’, age 82, passed from the loving arms of his family to the loving arms of Jesus on May 27, 1996.

He worked for many years at Regina Cleri Seminary and retired from there in May 1976. He loved to build, and built several houses during his lifetime, but he is best remembered for building a strong marriage and family through his love, determination and commitment. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Cecelia J. King and by his six children, Peggy (Ken) Anderson, Nancy (Michael) Monroe, Kathy (Christ) Lapi, Frank (Susan) King, Robert (Gayle) King and Maureen King. In addition he is survived by 16 grandchildren and many, many friends.

It is particularly fitting that he passed away on Memorial Day, as he is a veteran of World War II, and served in the Occupation Forces in Italy.

Visitation will be held at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, on Wednesday, May 29 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 30 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Cyril Church, 4725 E. Pima St. Service will be followed by interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to the TMC Hospice Program, which was a great help in assisting his family in saying good-bye.

KOKTAVY, Barbara A., 60, died May 27, 1996. Survived by her husband, Charles Koktavy; sons, Scott (Cathleen), Brian and Bruce Koktavy, all of Tucson; father, Frank Thurston of Tucson; sister, Gail (Frank) Fisher of Phoenix; brother, Larry (Barbara) Belhumeur of Tucson; two grandchildren also survive. No services are planned. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

KRAVETZ, Julius, Rabbi, 88, of Tucson, died May 25, 1996. Out of town service and interment arrangements by Culley and Son Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL. Local arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

LEVITT, Sady R., 82, of Tucson, died May 26, 1996. Survived by daughter, Harriette P. Levitt of Tucson. Predeceased by husband, Morris Levitt on July 14, 1989. Graveside Services were Monday, 2:30 p.m., Temple Emanu-El Section, Evergreen Cemetery, with Rabbi Israel Becker of Congregation Chofetz Chayim officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sady R. Levitt Memorial Fund c/o Jewish Community Foundation, 3822 E. River Rd., Tucson 85718. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

LONGWELL, Nancy Lea, born January 2, 1959 passed away at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on May 26, 1996. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Alice Longwell of Sardis, OH. Also remaining are her two brothers, Charles D. Longwell of Woodsfeild, OH and Floyd G. Longwell of Antiock, OH; her two sisters, Anita M. Lemon of New Martinsville, West Virginia and Linda A. Vargo of Tucson, AZ; along with four nephews and five nieces. Nancy came to Tucson in 1987 after successfully practicing law in St. Clairsville, OH. She passed the Arizona Bar and was employed by Richards and Pennengton. Nancy was a 1977 graduate of River High School, a 1981 Ohio University graduate with a degree in Political Science and a 1984 graduate of the University of Dayton Law School with a Juris Doctorate degree. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Arrangements by will be made by Rush Funeral Home at 37234 Mound Street, Sardis, OH 43946 and memorial services will be held upon the families return to Tucson. Any contributions can be made to Sardis Alumni Association for Scholarships, Sardis, OH 43946.

LUSTIG, Donna M., 68, died May 27, 1996. Survived by her husband, Robert Lustig; son, Ron Van Alstine of AZ; sister, Jeanette Vannatta of TX; two grandchildren, Ronnie and Nichelle; several nieces and nephews; and great grandchildren also survive. Memorial Service 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1st at Lakeside Congregation Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness, 8311 E. Stella Rd. with Donald Lowe officiating. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

McELROY, Josephine L., 79, died May 27, 1996. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McElroy. Survived by her daughter, Maryanne (Steven) Doitch; cousin, Loren Pfau of CO; nephew, Jack Shea of TX; niece, Retha West of OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29th and Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. May 29th at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30th at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 2915 E. 26th St. with entombment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
