McGEORGE, Elizabeth G., 85, of Tucson, died May 20, 1996. She is survived by her husband James R. McGeorge of Tucson; son James G. McGeorge, daughter-in-law Patsy S. McGeorge, and grandchildren Christine R. McGeorge and Adam G. McGeorge of Tempe; sister Peggy Cole of Mahwah, NJ; and brother Justus C. Gilfillan of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Born in New Castle, PA, Elizabeth received a bachelor’s degree from Monmouth College, IL, and a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a public school teacher in New Castle prior to moving to Tucson in 1961. Elizabeth was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church for 35 years. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University Blvd., at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 26. DOLAN, Elizabeth Ann (nee Segerson), died peacefully at her home in Tucson on Tuesday morning, May 21, 1996 following a lengthy illness. She was born in Janesville, WI and spent her childhood in Madison, WI. She is survived by her brothers, Dr. Paul W. Segerson, Jr., Dr. James S. Segerson (both of Naples, FL; and a sister, Mary Ellen Bertrams (Dayton, OH). For over 51 years Betty has been the loving and much beloved wife of Joseph W. Dolan. They were longtime residents of Lancaster and Mount Joy, PA. She was also the devoted mother of Kathleen Burnett (William) of Chicago, IL, Jeffrey Dolan of Tucson, Cynthia Walter (Lawrence) of Pueblo, CO and the loving grandmother of five, Brendan Burnett, Brian, Daniel and Paul Walter and Kelly Dolan. She was a woman known for her spirit, spunk and stamina; her loyal generosity; and her caring for those in need. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. LEDBETTER, John F., born June 18, 1918, in Minneapolis, MN, died at home in Tucson on May 7, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Jane (Kottke), whom he met at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, and married in 1940, and by their three children, Steven of Newton Center, MA, Jill Childress of Louisville, KY, and Mark of Henderson, NV; six grandchildren, William of New York, NY, Joanna of Ithaca, NY, John Nagel of Pasadena, CA, Stephanie Nagel of New Orleans, LA, Susi Childress of Great Falls, MT and Eric of Henderson, NV; and by two sisters, Betty Bickley of Johnstown, PA and Barbara Nelson of Harris, MN. He moved with his family from Minneapolis to Tucson in 1953 as a representative of IDS; later, among other activities, he set up and managed the first car-leasing operation for Bill Breck Dodge. In 1954 he was a founding member of the Tucson Civitan Club and gradually moved up through leadership positions in the organization, becoming the president of Civitan International in 1969-70. A longtime member of Catalina United Methodist Church, he was the head usher there for 35 years and later became leader of the Homebuilders class; he was actively involved in the cancer support group. DAVIES, M. Irene, passed away in peace on May 19, 1996. Born on September 29, 1921 in Wilmerding, PA, she has lived in Tucson since 1951. Irene is survived by David, her loving husband of 53 years. Survivors include her son, Tim (Anne); grandson, Kevin; brothers, Robert R. Rook and Vernon E. (Nora) Rook, all of Tucson. Irene retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1972. She is a past president of the Tucson Business and Professional Women’s Club. During her career she was active in Junior Achievement and has been a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary for over 25 years. MARGADANT, Clarys Lynette, born December 14, 1910, passed on to a larger room on May 18, 1996. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Kenneth “Bud’ Margadant. She is survived by her son, Ted Winston Margadant, from Davis, CA; her daughter, Nancy Helen Margadant, from Tucson, and their families; her sister, Lola Runyan, from Camas, WA; her brother, Richard Miller, from Portland, OR, and their families. She was a mother and friend to many people who will remember her and the good times they had together. Clarys was an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles for many years. In her retirement she continued working as a real estate agent, and volunteer English as a Second Language teacher in San Clemente, CA. In 1987, she moved to Tucson to be near her loving and devoted daughter, Nan. She spent the next nine years living and enjoying life fully, inspiring all who knew her to do the same. Clarys shared and loved unconditionally, giving everyone permission to be themselves. She was an independent thinker, and worked passionately for human rights. She was a life-long learner. She loved art, music and children. She enjoyed playing bridge, solving crossword puzzles, reading, writing, painting, and traveling to exotic places. She typified class, dignity, and peace of mind that made all people from differing backgrounds or walks of life, both young and old, feel welcome and at home in her presence. Mr. Raymer was born February 8, 1914 in Arkansas, the son of Lloyd Cowen and Hattie Josephine Beard Raymer. He married Mildred Genevieve Ryther in St. Louis, MO on October 9, 1942. He was a member of Christ Untied Methodist Church in Tucson. He was an accountant. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve of Tucson; four daughters, Pamela (Lee) Johnson of Sterling, IL, Gwyn (Larry) Dickson of Van Coover, WA, Debra (Steven) Wampler of Sedalia, CO and Linda (Gordon) Storey of Willits, CA; one sister, Hazel Mintz of Kingston, OK; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
