BEAUDRY, Roger W., born December 10, 1905, died May 7, 1996. Preceded in death by wife, Anna. He is survived by children, Anne (Ronald) Kozacki, Barbara Smith, and Peter Beaudry; brother, Richard; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren. No services are planned. Donations can be made to Hospice Program at TMC or St. Mary’s Hospital, Casas de los Ninos, The Humane Society or Handi-dogs in his memory.

BIGGS, Jack M., 78, died May 9, 1996. Survived by wife, Pauline; daughter, Jacqueline Wogomon; son, Ronald R. Biggs; sister, Kathryn Poulson; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. BONIFAS, Mary, 96, passed away on May 10, 1996. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bonifas and her only child, Nicholas Bonifas. She is survived by her niece, Eleanore de Gennaro; great nephews, Nicholas (Karen) de Gennaro and John de Gennaro; great niece, Rosanne (John) Lehman; nephews, Peter Orlich Jr., and Anthony (Ileana) Orlich; sister, Yovanna Zick; niece Mary Herczeg; nephew, Peter Zick. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul for many years. She has resided at the Villa Maria Assisted Living Apartments for the last seven years, where she always attended daily Mass. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 12th at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass Monday morning, time pending at Villa Maria Nursing Home Chapel, with burial at Holy Hope Cemetery. FELIX, Jose M., 96, of Tucson, passed away May 8, 1996. Survived by wife, Ruth Felix; daughters, Mary Louise Zavala, Esther Ochoa, Bertha (Albert) Gallego; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. MEJIA, Berta, died Wednesday, May 8, 1996 in Tucson. Survived by brother, Michael Mejia of Denver, CO; sister, Sally (Anthony J.) Sanchez of Denver, CO; nephews, George and Mark Sutton of Tucson; five nieces and nephews. Graveside Services for Miss Mejia will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, 1996 at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations to Arizona Cancer Society. PETERSON, Jerome R., 64, owner and publisher of Water Conditioning and Purification Magazine, died May 6, 1996, after a long illness. A 16-year resident of Tucson, AZ, Peterson began his publishing career in Minneapolis, MN after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a BA degree in Journalism.

Peterson served as executive vice president of Select Publications, Inc. in Minneapolis and New York City from 1958 to 1967 when he founded then later acquired Water Conditioning Magazine, the first publication to serve the water treatment industry, and Industrial Water Engineering Magazine from Select and moved to Greenwich, CT. In 1967, Peterson started Publicom, Inc., publishers of Water Conditioning, Auto Laundry News, and Commercial Waste / Wastewater Catalog. In 1980, Peterson and his family moved to Tucson where he changed the name of Water Conditioning Magazine to Water Conditioning and Purification Magazine to reflect the direction of the water treatment industry.

Long recognized for his dedication to the water quality improvement industry, Peterson received a lifetime membership award in 1982 from the Water Quality Association, the international trade association for the water treatment industry, an Award of Special Merit from the Water Conditioning Foundation and the Marino Pomares Award from the Pacific Water Quality Association.

Peterson was born June 28, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Russell and Maybelle Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Bryan and Kurt; a daughter, Kimberly, a son-in-law, Chuck; and one grandson, Cooper, all of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Jay Peterson of Anoka, MN; a sister, Janet Ranheim of Bloomington, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Water Quality Research Council, 4151 Naperville Road, Lisle, IL 60532.

ROSE, Dorothy Louise, 56, made her home with her niece June Rightmeyer of St. Augustine, FL, died Thursday, May 9, 1996 at Concorde Loving Care in Palm Coast, FL. She was born July 3, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to August Rose and Ethel (Kaufer) Rose. She graduated from University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She was employed by the State of Arizona where she received the Governor’s Award of Excellence. Funeral Services will be private. She is survived by brother, Edwin Rose of Catskill, NY; niece, June Rose Rightmeyer of St. Augustine, FL; and several nieces, nephews and grandnephews. Flowers are gratefully declined, those wishing may make contributions to the Humane Society of Tucson, AZ. Croyle Funeral Home, 209 S. Ponce de Leon Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32084, will be in charge of arrangements.

SUTER, Frances E., of Tucson, passed away on May 5, 1996 at home. Preceded by her lifelong friend and devoted husband, Walter. Survived by brother, Charles (Gloria), sister, Betty (Thurston); children, Gary of Lincoln, NE, Dale (Sandy), Craig (Diane), and 10 grandchildren. Frances served as a W.A.C. during WWII, where she met Walter while stationed at Davis Monthan A.F.B. Together, they traveled with the military around the U.S. and Japan, finally settling in Tucson in 1959. Frances was extremely active in many church and community organizations including the American Cancer Society, Neighborhood Watch, and as a volunteer nurse for the public school district. She also devoted time as the family historian. A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m., May 19, 1996 in the Chapel at Christ Church United Methodist. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

VERDUGO, Stephanie Renee, 12, of Mammoth “Gone to the house of the Lord’ May 4, 1996. Grandparents, Raul and Teresa Romero, Belia T. Zazueta. Survived by parents, Robert Sr. and Juanita Verdugo; brothers, Robert Jr., Ricardo and Raul Verdugo; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 1996 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Mass will be offered Tuesday, May 14, 1996 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. VOGT, Iola, 88, of Tucson, died May 6, 1996. Survivors include: husband, Karl Vogt of Tucson; step-daughter, Marcia Podlesak of Chicago, IL; son, Alan Vogt of San Francisco, CA; and several step-grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be at Catalina United Methodist Church 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, 1996 with Rev. Ravin Gaston officiating. Inurnment will follow at South Lawn. WENTWORTH, Nellie, 97, a resident of Tucson since 1947, died May 8, 1996. Nellie was born and raised in the Boston area and was a homemaker. Preceded in death by husband, John W. She is survived by her sons, Michael Higgins of Tucson, Col. Bernard Higgins of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 13 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave.

WILSON, Frank Cardenas, passed away May 8, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Olivia C. Wilson; daughter, Jennie W. Bellatti; grandson, Gary Howard; granddaughters, Rhiannon and Brandis Stephan; mother, Amalia C. Wilson; brothers, Joe and Wesley Wilson; sisters, Mary Carbajal, Gloria Wilson, Margaret Amarillas and Teresita Lopez. No services. Thank you for your prayers. Rest in peace, Dad.

BURG, Sidney L., O.D., FAAO, of Tucson, passed away May 8, 1996. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Steffi; daughters, Anita (Jerry) Sonenblick of Tucson, Nancy (Jeff) Levin of Bay City, MI; grandchildren, Becky and Louie. He practiced Optometry in Belleville, IL for 20 years and resided in St. Louis, MO. In 1974 he moved to Tucson where he semi-retired and continued to practice optometry. Funeral Services, Friday, May 10, 1996, 2:00 p.m.EVERGREEN MORTUARY CHAPEL, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. COLLINS, John Peyton, Retired Superior Court Judge went home to be with his Lord and Savior May 5, 1996. He was born August 15, 1927 in Eastland, TX and raised in Marana, AZ where he played basketball for the Marana High School Tigers. He was student body president and valedictorian of his class. He served in the Navy. He graduated from the U of A College of Law where he was student body president and received his L.L.B. in 1956. He practiced law privately until his appointment to the bench as Judge of Superior Court January 4, 1965. In his later years, he retired in southern California and in 1990 helped son, Jim open his California law practice. Preceded in death by his parents, James Elmer and Rose Collins and brother, Bill. He will be dearly missed by his three children: Marianne Collins-Powell (Brad), James Peyton Collins (Theresa) and Andrea “Andy’ Joseph Collins (Barbara); and his former wife, Rose Cracchiolo Collins of 28 years. His six young grandchildren: John Peyton Collins, II, Dana James and Michael Joseph Collins (Littlerock, CA), Peyton Christine and Jake Henry Collins (LaCanada-Flintridge, CA) and Donald John Powell (Tucson, AZ), were his inspiration and pride and joy. He leaves behind his seven brothers and sisters: James “Buddy’ Collins (Phoenix, AZ), Jack Collins (Tucson), Zelma Campbell (Farmington, NM), Inez Cleveland (Tucson), Ruth Quarelli (Tucson), Gaynell Robinson (Tucson) and Patty Swanson (Tucson). Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins will truly miss him as well. He was highly respected among his peers, colleagues, the citizens of his community, and wherever he went. He was a genuine classic humanitarian and truly a legacy, whom everyone loved and admired. He loved kids-they were his life. He thoroughly enjoyed his hobbies of genetics, raising many species of birds and had fun gardening. In his spare time he wrote poetry and published his all-time favorite “Twenty Poems of the Beach and Sea," by Jon Peyton. He also was a volunteer little league baseball coach for his sons’ team. His family appreciated the care he received at Good Samaritan Hospital (Los Angeles, CA). A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in his honor at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1946 E. Lee, Tucson, (where he and Rose were married) on Saturday, May 11 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Casa De Los Ninos Crisis Center, 347 E. Speedway, Tucson, in memory of Judge John Peyton Collins.

CULVER, Constance E., died at home, after a battle with cancer, on April 13, 1996, at the age of 76. Connie was born September 18, 1919 in London, England. In 1959 she emigrated with her family to America and settled in Camp Hill, PA where her brother and sister resided. In 1979 she and her husband, George, retired to Tucson, AZ. While living in PA she worked for Pomeroy’s Department Store and was a volunteer driver for the blind association. She was active in the Ladies of West Shore Elks #2257 and the British-American Society of Lancaster County, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Emily Segrott and her sister Bette Kurtz. She is survived by her husband, George; daughters, Gene (Richard) Rowe and Jacqueline (Skip) Zahm, all of Tucson; granddaughters, Nicole (Jason) Haney of Yuma, AZ, Elizabeth-Anne Rowe and Stacey Zahm, both of Tucson; her brother, Leslie (Tink) Segrott of Ft. Myers, FL; her niece, Janet (Rocco) Cambria; great-nephew, Benjamin, all of Camp Hill, PA; numerous family members and friends in England, and many friends in Camp Hill, PA and Tucson, AZ. A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 1996 at Rincon Congregational Church, 122 N. Craycroft, Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carondelet Foundation, P. O. Box 13170, Tucson, AZ 85731.
