O'BRIEN, Johnie E., 78, of Tucson, passed away April 28, 1996. He is survived by wife, Evelyn whom he married on October 31, 1967. He is also survived by son, Robert and his wife Barbara O'Brien of Tucson; daughters, Anna Mae Henderson of Tucson, Jean Reese of Houston; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; step-children, Dionne Van Meter, Maurice Startzman, Dolores (Dolly) Startzman and Jean Oliver; six step-grandchildren; brother, Tom and his wife Jeanette O'Brien of WA; sisters, Rose and her husband Allen Crowe of Yuma, AZ and Ruth and her husband Vernon Delay of Needles, AZ. Mr. O'Brien worked as a railroad engineer for Southern Pacific for 43 years. BRORBY, Melvin L., 101, died April 28, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. Survived by daughter, Virginia; son, Harry; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Born 1894, Decorah, IA. He attended University of Wisconsin, Oxford University, University of Strassbourg, and the Sorbonne (Paris). After serving in WWI, he did extensive traveling in Europe, India, and China. Co-founder and Senior Vice-President of Needham, Louis, and Brorby Inc., advertising agency in Chicago which, after several mergers, became DDB Needham Worldwide. His interest in world affairs led him to participate in the Chicago Council of Foreign Relations and the Wingspread Foundation of Racine, WI. He had a deep interest in music and art which became a dominant influence on his family. There will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, please give to your favorite charity. MOORE, James Donald, Lt. Col. US Army Ret. 74, died April 28, 1996. He was born November 30, 1921 in Ryland, AL. Beloved husband of 47 years of Dagmar Marie Moore; his sons, Malcolm A. Moore of Tucson and Brian A. (Bonnie) Moore of Omaha, NE; grandson, Scott Moore of Omaha, NE; sisters, Thelma Gray and Sarah Sanders, both of Huntsville, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. A member in his youth of the Civilian Conservation Corps, he enlisted in the Army upon the out break of WWII. Graduating from OCS in 1943 he remained in the service until 1963. He served in Germany (twice), Korea, Virginia (twice), Taiwan and numerous other posts world wide. From 1963 to 1980 he was in the Civil Service in Hawaii and Ft. Huachuca. Jim and Marie moved to Tucson in 1983. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie and William Moore and four brothers. CUMMINGS, Ernest E. 'Casey', age 67, passed away Thursday, April 25, 1996, in San Antonio, TX. Mr. Cummings is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 37 years; two daughters, Kelly Funsch and Avis Jackson; grandsons, Casey, Ian, Steven, and Mason; plus a brother, Donald Cummings. Mr. Cummings was an Air Force retiree with many medals including the Purple Heart. He retired as an Engineer from Ford Aerospace. He was active with the San Antonio Elks Lodge #216 serving as a Esteemed Lecturing Knight; providing many volunteer hours, and receiving numerous awards.
