MACHAC, Emma Sandmeyer, 69, died Monday, July 8, 1996 in a Tucson, AZ hospice. She was born in Topeka on December 30, 1926, the daughter of Charles A. and Georgia C. Westbrook Sandmeyer. She was graduated from Highland Park High School and Washburn University. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Kansas. Mrs. Machac was a social worker with the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services in Topeka and for the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Aging and Adult Administration in Tucson. She was married to John A. Machac in Dallas in September 1952. He died July 6, 1974. She is survived by two sons, John A. Machac, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Beverly A. Machac and Fred O. Machac, both of Tucson; a sister, Georgia R. Daniel of Topeka; three brothers, Franklin H. Sandmeyer of St Louis, John J. Sandmeyer, Sr. of Topeka and Fred P. Sandmeyer of Overland Park; four stepsisters, Dorothy Pearson, Marian Korup and Mildred Miller of Topeka and Virginia Caudill of Las Vegas; three stepbrothers, Lloyd K. Willes and H.
