ADEZIO, Louis S., died on September 27, 1996 at Carondelet Hospice in Tucson, Arizona. Services were held October 1, at St. Ambrose Church with interment at Holy Hope Cemetery, both in Tucson. A Memorial Service will be held in New York in the late fall of 1996. Mr. Adezio was born to Antonietta and Anthony Adezio in Chicago on March 26, 1921. He studied violin from the age of five at Hill House in Chicago and appeared as a soloist with the Hull House Orchestra at age eleven. Mr. Adezio attended the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore where he spent four important and rewarding years, gaining lifelong friendships among his fellow students and as a member of the Baltimore Symphony. During World War II, Mr. Adezio served in the United States Army, taking part in the European Theater. At the completion if his Army career, Mr. Adezio attended Johns Hopkins University, graduating in 1952. Louis married Madeline Fagan of Harrington Park, New Jersey at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in New York City on January 3, 1953, with the Reverend George B. Fagan, the bride’s uncle, officiating. Louis and Madeline shared the beauty and fulfillment of life with their beloved children, Antonia, JoAnne and Paul. In 1960, Mr. Adezio and the family moved to Moorestown, New Jersey where Louis, self-employed as a sales engineer specializing in microwave and electronic technologies, had his offices on Main Street through 1978.Following residency in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and in Wilmington, Delaware, Mr. Adezio moved to Wappinger Falls, New York. From there, in December 1995, Louis and Madeline, with their endearing cat, Stumpy, moved to Tucson to be closer to their daughter JoAnne and her family. Mr. Adezio is survived by his dearly loved wife, Madeline; two daughters, Antonia F. Adezio of Garrison, New York and JoAnne A. Crissey of Tucson; and a son, Paul R. Adezio of Hamilton Square, New Jersey; two wonderful grandchildren, Jessica and Lachlan Crissey of Tucson; Mr. Adezio’s sisters, Carmen Rasmussen and Eleanor Hawley both of Tucson; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. BUETHE, Eloise A., 80 years old, passed away October 5, 1996 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Unit. Preceded in death by her loving husband George M. Buethe. Devoted mother of George E. Buethe of Chandler, Richard H. Buethe of Tucson and Mary Lou (Andrew) Howard of Yuma. Dear sister of Donald W. Tuntland of FL. Mrs. Buethe was born in Buckingham, IL. She became a registered nurse and worked in hospitals, nursing homes and private duty nursing for 40 years. Mrs. Buethe was very devoted for caring for people and her profession. She was loved and will be missed by all those who she had cared for over the years. Mrs. Buethe was also very active in Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where she was devoted member. KLESERT, William Martin, Col. USAF Ret. died September 27 in Albuquerque, NM. Born March 3, 1928, graduated from Bradley University and commissioned in the Air Force in 1952. Klesert flew B-47's and B-52's for SAC and B-57's in over 300 combat missions in Viet Nam, receiving the Legion of Merit and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Base Commander of Wurtsmith AFB, before retiring to Tucson in 1977. After a stroke, he became a bronze sculptor before suffering a debilitating stroke in 1989. His wife, Beverly, died in 1991 and Col. Klesert moved to Gallup, NM, then to Albuquerque, NM. Survivors include a brother, Jack Scott of Tucson; sister, Jane Howington of Porter, TX; two sons, Tony Klesert of Gallup, and Michael Klesert of Nederland, CO; and three grandsons, Joseph, David and Riley.
MASON, William, 75, of Tucson, died Friday, October 4, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, William (Nancy) Rasmussen; stepchildren, Edward, (Nancy) Staffeld, Russell (Christine) Staffeld, Cathy Staffeld, Lori Staffeld (Duane) Davies; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. PINNELL, Richard (Dick) Leonard, Sr., Born in Kansas, IL September 3, 1930 and entered into rest October 5, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty of Tucson; four children, Vicki (John) McCoy of Tucson, Ricki (Roy) Ray of Phoenix, Richard (Debbie) Pinnell Jr. of Tucson, and Patricia Pinnell of Tucson; one ”adopted” son, Jeffrey McCarthy of Tucson; three grandchildren, John (Brenda) McCoy Jr. of Tucson, Jeffrey and Shaundra Pinnell of Kansas; two great grandsons of Tucson; one sister and two brothers also of Tucson. A resident of Tucson since 1948, ”Dick”, was a retired businessman who had been a long time member of the automotive community in Tucson. Dick was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and supported numerous charities throughout his lifetime. He was a father figure to many and had the reputation of ”never meeting a stranger”. BOULAY, Tom, age 48, died of a sudden massive stoke Saturday, October 5, 1996 in St. Joseph’s Hospital ICU. Tom is survived by his wife Mary; children, Sarah (Shawn) Preston, Susan and Michael. Also survived by two grandchildren, Jenna and Dan; father, Carlton Boulay along with his brothers and sisters, Peter (Shiela) Boulay, Suzzanne (Jerry) Bolger, Margot Webb, M’Lou (David) Braun, Jacquie Boulay and Monica Boulay. Tom was preceded in death by his mother Mary and brother Paul. Tom will always be remembered by his love of family and for his unique acerbic wit. BREHENEY, Jacki, born 11 November 1939, left this life 4 October, 1996. As artist, activist, wife and friend she will be sorely missed by friends and family. Jacki was honored by the Arizona State Museum and the Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society for her contributions. As a volunteer and past-officer of the Society, Jacki was a leader in developing and promoting Arizona’s recognition of its rich archaeological legacy. She touched many lives through her particular passion, the investigation and teaching of prehistoric pottery techniques and took special delight in introducing people to ”time travel”. Painfully shy and driven to create, she bravely and gracefully lived the pain and joy visited on poets and artists through the ages. At Jacki’s request, no services are planned. CAIN, David ”Larry”, Lt. Col. U.S. Army, Ret., 65, died October 5, 1996 at the TMC Hospice after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Larry was born in Tucson on September 30, 1931 and attended Tucson schools. he graduated from the U of A in 1954 and began a long career in the Army. He received his Masters degree from ASU, while in the military. Larry returned to Tucson after retirement, and later moved with his wife to the Chiricahua Mountains where they were surrounded by the natural beauty they loved. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jo; his mother, Bernice Cain; a sister, Beverly Messner; a brother, Philip (Barbara D.) Cain of Tucson, Catherine (Tom) Delfs of Redwood City, CA and eight children, Sylvia (John) Stanard, Cynthia (Joe) Prugh, George Cain, all of VA, Leonard (Jennifer) Cain and Sam T. Polito of Tucson, Laura (Blake) Norman of Phoenix, Richard (Julie) Polito of San Francisco, Lisa Polito of Kodiak, AK; nine grandchildren, two aunts, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. COLBORN, Carol L., age 61, of Tucson died October 4, 1996. She is survived by her daughter Linda Arend, FL; brothers Col. Ret. Ronald Haynes, IL and Stephen Haynes, MO; grandsons Todd O’Laughlin, Bruce O’Laughlin and Jason Davis; and long time friend and companion Ramona Rosnett. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Gladys Haynes and husband Robert Krause. Carol was a Charter Member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Decatur, IL. She was employed by TMC for 21 years as a PTOT. She was previously employed by Illinois Bell in Decatur for 19 years. Services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. GARRISON, Mary Alberta (Holliday). Born July 30, 1911 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles William and Zepporah (Garrington) Holliday. She had six children, Marion Lackershire of Tucson, AZ, Robert J. (Karen) Malloy Sr. of Prole, Iowa, Anna (Gary) Cooper of Ceder Hill, TX, Ronald (Virginia) Garrison of Missouri and Francis Gerald and Charles Patrick Malloy, both of whom preceded her death, along with her parents and three great-granddaughters. She is survived by he sister, Marjorie Stonehouse of West Burlington, Iowa, two daughters and two sons, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary retired from Iowa Methodist Hospital Laundry in 1977 after 27 1/2 years of service when she was 65. She lived in Des Moines, Iowa until September 1995 at which time she moved to Tucson, AZ. There will be a viewing in Tucson Tuesday, October 8, 1996 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave (888-1111). There will also be a viewing at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyons, Des Moines, Iowa (243-5221) Friday, October 11, 1996.
