UIHLEIN, Peter Joseph, 67, of Tucson, died at UMC Hospital on September 5, 1996. There will be no Funeral Service other than Graveside. Flowers or other bequests are not desired. This interment will take place on Friday, September 13, 1996 at 12:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery located north of Phoenix near Carefree, 23029 N. Cavecreek Rd. Mr. Uihlein completed his B.A. at the University of New Mexico and his M.A. in Government Administration at the American University in Washington, D.C. He then served at the Navy and State Departments for 25 years before eventually retiring in Tucson. His final tour of duty was in the Executive office of the Secretary of the Navy. CHASE, Anna M., 92, a long time Tucson resident, passed away September 5, 1996. She was born Anna Margaret Simmons on April 7, 1904 in Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University as a registered nurse, a profession she practiced throughout her life. She married Harold E. Nord in January, 1928. They had three sons, Harold E. Nord, Jr. and family live in Rye Beach, NH, James R. Nord and family live in Nagoya, Japan and Jon A. Nord and family live in Riverside, CA; there are six grandchildren. Her first husband, Harold Nord, died in August, 1963. She married Clarence “Al” Chase in September, 1969. He died in June, 1979. A loving wife and mother, a devoted nurse and a friend to many, she lived a long and full life. Plans for a Memorial Service Saturday, 7 September are being made. KOENIG, Roberta “Bobbie”, passed into eternal life on September 4, 1996, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Roberta had just recently celebrated her 60th birthday. Survived by her husband of 40 years, Art; beloved mother of Catherine (John) of Tucson, and Art Jr. (Susan) of Chicago; grandchildren, Kristen, Danny, and Alyssa; and a host of dear friends. Roberta was an avid member of the Irish Setter Club of America for many years. Bobbie is formerly from Chicago, IL. and has been a Tucson resident for 17 years. MAGEE, Robert F., 62, began his higher walk on September 1, 1996 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Catherine Magee. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne; sons, Michael (Judy) and Bob (Janean); daughters, Lisa Magee and Maggie (Patrick) Greene; six grandchildren; brother, Jack (Kay); sisters, Sally (Chuck) Moffett and Betty Euler; mother-in-law, Atha Bryson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear friends. Bob retired to his native Tucson after 20 years in US Navy Submarine Service and found great satisfaction as a Dispatch Supervisor for Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Before his illness forced early retirement, Bob earned his private pilot license and enjoyed camping and hunting as well as communicating with a wide network of Ham Radio Operators (WB7TXQ). STEENBURGEN, Loran T., 54, of Tucson, AZ, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospice and Hospital, September 4, 1996 after a long courageous fight with cancer. Loran was born August 1, 1942 in Boise, ID. He was raised and educated in Boise, ID. He graduated from Boise High School. After graduation he worked in construction and worked as a heavy equipment operator and worked on several projects in Idaho including the road that is presently used between Lowman and Stanley and also on the construction of the early Whitebird Hill road. He later worked for Caterpillar for 27 years at their proving grounds in Phoenix and Tucson area. He was employed there at the time of his death. As a engineer there he helped design and test the cruise control that is now used in the operation of the dozers today. That was one of his biggest thrills knowing it was being used and that he was a part of that. Loran had a great love for the outdoors and loved to spend time at his lot in Clear Creek Pines where he loved to go and hunt and spent his weekends. He was a avid bow hunter as well as rifle hunter. He also had a great love for snowmobiling in the winter time. He made several trips to Idaho in the winter so he could enjoy the sport with family and friends. Loran had a lot of friends that he enjoyed the time with and he will along with his sense of humor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his father, Elmer of Boise; a sister and brother-in-law, LaDonna and Larry Barrett of Nampa, ID; a sister, Glenda Merchant of Spokane, WA; one brother and sister-in-law, Veryl and Jamie Steemburgem of Dallas, TX; plus several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. Service will be conducted on Saturday at the LDS Church at 10:30 am, 17699 S. Camino De Las Quintas, Sahurita, AZ. Viewing at church is at 9:30 a.m. before the service. Friends may call at Desert Rose Cremation and Burial at 2730 S. 4th Avenue Bldg #4, Tucson, AZ.
