REGEHR, Patricia L., born May 28, 1960, died August 24, 1996. Survived by her husband of 14 years, Steve B. Regehr; her parents, John and Helen Umstott; her brothers, Robert and John (Lisa) Umstott; parents-in-law, O'Neal and Elda Regehr; brother-in-law, Dennis (Lori) Regehr; nephews, Johnny and Eric Umstott, Michael and Matthew Regehr; and many loving friends and family. Patricia graduated from Flowing Wells High School in 1978 and the University of Arizona in 1988 with a degree in education and was a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority. Patricia's chosen profession was teaching and her life was a lesson in grace, faith and fortitude to us all. She overcame physical suffering again and again, and shared her experience and wisdom through participation in community groups. Patricia's gentle strength, keen mind and giving heart never failed to inspire her loved ones, and her example will sustain us through our loss. She was an angel on earth and watches over us all now. SCOGIN, William M. “Bill”, 75, local Chevron Dealer for 33 years, passed away August 24, 1996 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; father of Iris Collaco, Anna Durazo; sons, Bill and Gilliam Scogin; and step-son, Tom Mulligan; brother, David; sisters, Ella Rhea Hearg and Dolly. He leaves 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren in addition to several nieces and nephews. Following five years of service in the US Army during WWII he attended Hardin Simmons University and Murray University in Texas. During Bill's work years he was an assistant manager for McCellens in McAllen, Texas and later for TG&Y Stores in Missouri. A 32nd degree mason at Sabbar Shrine Temple where he was a member of the Blue Angel Unit and an honorary member of the Temple Guard.Additionally, Bill was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Tucson, Builders Lodge #60 and Elks #2532. MARTAK, Marty, age 42, died of a massive heart attack Monday, August 26, 1996. MESSER, Carl, 75, of Tucson, went to meet his “wonderful Lord” on August 26, 1996. He was born May 17, 1921 in Reedsville, KY to Andy and Mary Messer, who have preceded him in death. Also preceding him are two brothers, two sisters, and three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jewell; daughters, Jeanette (Bud) Ratliff and Laveta Diane Davis, both of Tucson; sons, Carl (Sue) Graham of Ironton, OH, Sam (Beth) Messer of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Michael (Arlene) Messer of Daharan, Saudi Arabia; 10 grandchildren, Randy, Chuck, Aaron, Barney, Carla, Dennis, Terri, Brandon, April and Joli; and 13 great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Shandelle, Jade, Courtney, Emily, Danny, Chris, Kendra, Grant, Tiffani, Haily, Ryan and Gregory. Also surviving are three sisters, Irene Houck of Grayson, KY, Faye King of Vero Beach, FL and Charlotte Wheeler of Columbus, OH; and many nieces and nephews and friends whom he dearly loved.
