REQUENA, Ana, 83, of Tucson, died August 19, 1996. Survivors include; her good friend, Sarah Mileski of Tucson; son, Joe Requena of Fallon, Nevada; daughter, Zenaida Weatherred of N. Augusta, S. Carolina; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ms. Requena has resided in Tucson since 1943, moving here from New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose in 1987. Graveside Services will be at East Lawn Palms Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. August 22, 1996, with Rev. Hal Cowart of Catalina United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Palms.Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

REYNOLDS, Everett R., 87, of Tucson, died Sunday, August 18, 1996. He is survived by wife, Frances Willoughby Reynolds of Tucson; stepson, Dr. Hugh (Lois) Willoughby and their children Robert and Anne Elizabeth of Miami, FL; three sisters, Clara Bell of Baltimore, MD, Ruby Henderson of Sisterville, W. VA and Dotty Reynolds of Albemarle, NC; nephews, Dale and David Reynolds of Texas and numerous other nieces and nephews. Mr. Reynolds spent many years working in the oil fields of Texas, where he was a production and drilling superintendent of an oil company when he retired. He has lived in Arizona since his retirement in 1965. Memorial Services will be held at Campana del Rio Chapel, 1550 E. River Rd., Tucson, on Friday, August 23, 1996, at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Frank Rose officiating. Donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy, 300 E. THOMPSON, Donald E., 62, died August 18, 1996. Husband of Judith Thompson of Tucson; father of Carla Sanborn of CA, Dewayne Thompson of FL and Deborah Youngblood of CA; brother of Arthur C. Thompson, Jr. of CA and Alice Sanborn of CO; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends also survive. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 549, Tucson. Mr. Thompson was employed by the Dana Kepner Co. as manager of the Tucson Branch. Memorial Service 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 23 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 241 N. Harrison, with Pastor Curt L. Anthony (Christina) Dal Lago of SC, Edward (Leslie) Dal Lago of ID, M/Sgt.Michael (Josephine) Dal Lago of CA and Debra (Peter) Ludwig of CO; grandmother of Glizer and Erica, both of CA; sister of Valeria Patterson of MI, Mary Brew of WI and Tucson, Orville of AR, Willard, Richard and Robert, all of MI and Donald of TX. DORAN, Clyde W., 78, of Tucson, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 1996. Survivors include: loving wife, Patricia; daughters, Sandra Pyle, Cecelia (Robert) Breazeale of Virginia; grandchildren, Julie and Suzanne Breazeale and Andrew Pyle. Mr. Doran was a Tucson resident for over 35 years. Retired as Coronado National Forest Supervisor in 1973 after 34 years with the U.S. Forest Service. He retired from Pima County Parks and Recreation in 1981. Memorial Services will be at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, with Rev. Clarence W. O'Dell officiating. GIERSDORF, Lilly Lena, 82, died August 19, 1996. Wife of Lester F. Giersdorf; mother of Maynard Giersdorf of Sharon Springs, KS and Laura Jean Giersdorf of Tucson; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by mother Lena Schacher, father Gottfried Buhlmann, sister Mabel Tiede, brothers, Emil, Elmer and John Buhlmann. She was a member of Mountain View Church of the Nazarene for many years. Educated in Boone County, NE. married on October 4, 1933 in Bartlett, NE. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 1996 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL with Pastor David Bostick officiating. Burial to follow at TMP, South Lawn. GUTIERREZ, Andrew E. “Andy', 72, passed away August 18, 1996. Survived by loving wife, Donna; three children, Ted of Quincy, CA, Denise of Atlanta, GA and Ann of Midland, TX; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five sisters. No services at his request.

MENDIBLES, Anita V., 66, of Tucson, died August 20, 1996. Mother of Frank (Angie), Gustavo (Mona), Antonio and Gloria Mendibles; Frances (Gilbert) Porras, Joe (Clorinda), Manuel (Yolanda) Mendibles, all of Tucson; 32 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Scripture Service Friday, August 23, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brother Patrick Gavin of Sacred Heart Church officiating. Burial to follow in Holy Hope Cemetery. OMOHUNDRO, Virginia Davidson, 88, widow of J. Tapscott Omohundro, died on August 21, 1996. She was a long time resident of Tucson and a native of West Virginia. She was a member of St. Philip's In The Hills Episcopal Church. Funeral Services will be held at St. Philip's on Saturday, August 24 at 3:00 o'clock with visitation following. A Graveside Service will be held at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Huntington, West Virginia. Mrs. Omohundro is survived by two daughters, Jane Omohundro Tate of Louisville, Kentucky and Sally Omohundro Clancy of Vacaville, California. She is survived by eight grandchildren, Stephanie Baker De Fer of Tucson (Stephanie was raised by her grandmother, Mrs. Omohundro), Katherine Tate Taustine of Louisville, Kentucky, Thomas Tapscott Tate, Virginia Tate Davidson and William Preston Tate of Norcross, Georgia, Melissa Gede Shelby, Robert Jeffrey Molina, and Brandice Clancy of Vacaville, California. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be sent to Hospice Family Care Central Unit, 3443 E. Ft. Lowell, Tucson, AZ 85715. ROGAN, Bernard J., 82, a 50 year resident of Tucson, died August 20, 1996. Brother of Elizabeth Tunis of Lavallett, NJ. Funeral Mass will be recited Friday, August 23, 1996 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holy Hope Cemetery Mausoleum with Father Wayne Weinlader officiating. Visitation at 12:00 noon Friday at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3425 N. 1st Ave., (888-1111).

STILES, Harold H., 79, died August 20, 1996. Survived by his loving wife, Gretel; his dear son, Gary, of Orange, CA; and two beloved granddaughters, Laurel and Noelle. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Signal Corps on Codes and Ciphers. Grew up in Detroit and moved to Tucson in 1947. Was Advertising Manager of Steinfeld's for several years, also Jacome's, and worked for Sinclair Advertising. Retired from TNI as Proof-reader. Served as an officer of the Tucson Advertising Club, and as Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. A member of SAR with his Stiles family going back to 1635.Honorary member of Alpha Delta Sigma at the U of A. Sister Jane and brother Bob of Michigan also survive him. Died of an Intra-Cerebral Hemorrhage. A Memorial Service will be held at the ARIZONA MORTUARY, on Saturday, August 24 at 1:00 p.m.

BACON, Myrtle E., passed away August 18, 1996, after a long and courageous struggle with Alzheimer's. Born July 14, 1909 in Snowflake, VA. She spent most of her adult life in Kingsort, TN before coming to Tucson. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bacon. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Sorenson (companion Richard Hall); grandsons, Don Sorenson (Sally) of Long Beach, CA and Karl Sorenson (Monica) of San Diego; two great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons and several close nephews and nieces. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. Myrtle was a gentle and loving person who had a smile and a hug for everyone. She will be greatly missed and her loving memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 1996 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave.

DMYTRYK, William M., Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.), 81, of Tucson, AZ died August 7, 1996. Survived by daughter, Vicky McNeil; sister, Olga Dmytryk; brother, Edward Dmytryk; and several nieces. Memorial Services to be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 1996 at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. Magee, with Chaplain Fr. John E. Coady officiating.

MALDONADO, Manuel R., born May 31, 1923, died August 16, 1996. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary; daughters, Terri(Armando) Mungaray, Betty (Kenneth)Merrill, Mary Jean (Rock) Hudson; sons, Jerry (Sandy) and David; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; sisters, Rachelle Aroneta and Ardye Valenzula; brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Our family wishes to extend our deepest appreciation to the VA Hospice Unit for their love and care given to our father. Memorial Service Tuesday, August 20 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers friends may make contributions to St. Pius X Church in memory of Manuel R. Maldonado.

MARTIN, Edward Naleni, T/Sgt. USAF, Ret., 61, died August 19, 1996. Husband of Rose K. Martin; father of Brenda (Joe)Martinez of NM, Bobby Lee (Robert) Casper of Tucson, Edward (Linda) Martin of CA, Michael (Wendy) Martin of UT, Talbert Martin of Tucson, Connie (Aaron) Chandler of HI and Mark Martin of Tucson; brother of Stanley Martin of HI, Margaret Vittorio of CA, Barbara Kepa and Pearl Waiolama, both of HI; six grandchildren also survive. He was with the USAF for 20 years and was currently working as a school monitor at Palo Verde High School. Memorial Service 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 1996 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Father Richard Kingsley officiating.Military honors by DMAFB.

MONREAL, Socorro P., 85, of Tucson, died August 19, 1996. Survived by sister, Rose Drake of Tucson; nephew, Jerry Drake and his wife Lorraine; grandnephew, Jerry Joseph Drake; many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Guadalupe Monreal in 1980. PEARSON, Peter S., 58, passed away August 14, 1996 in the Philippines. He attended Tucson Public Schools thru High School and was a Tucson resident most of his life. He is survived by an adopted daughter in Manilla; brother, Richard of Phoenix; sister, Sandra Griffin of Houston; and his mother, Carolene Pearson of Tucson.

POLIS, Bonnie Gail, 51, passed away August 17, 1996 in Riverside, CA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 13, 1944, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Bonnie's family moved to Tucson, AZ in 1945. Bonnie attended Sam Hughes Elementary School, Mansfeld Middle School, Tucson High School and graduated from the U of A in 1966 with a BA in Education. Following two years of teaching in the Los Angels School District, Bonnie settled in Riverside, CA in 1968, having married a well known criminal defense attorney, Gerald D. Polis. Bonnie became the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Riverside Unified School District in 1985. She was responsible for coordinating and responding to the media as the District Public Information Officer. Through Bonnie's leadership, numerous innovative programs were successfully implemented in the District. Bonnie was honored with many professional awards and was active in over a dozen civic and professional organizations. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Gerald D. Polis of Riverside; son, Kevin A. Polis; and daughter, Lindsay E. Polis, both of San Diego; mother, Freda R. Shenkarow; brother, Richard Q. Shenkarow (Kate) and sons, Matthew and Harrison; sister, Ellen M. Shenkarow (Mark Raven) and daughters, Maria and Lucy and son, Edward, all of Tucson; sister, Nancy J. Bonsall (William)of Toluca, Mexico and sons, Samuel and Zachary and daughter, Melissa; sister-in-law, Rosalie M. Shenkarow of Sherman Oaks, CA and son, Justin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rabbi Robert and Faye Siegel of Fresno, and their son, Gregory and their daughters, Amy and Dana. Preceded in death by her father, Louis Edward Shenkarow; and brother, Maxwell Howard Shenkarow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. SCOTT, Bertenis “Betty', of Tucson, AZ, died August 8, 1996. Betty Scott was born June 13, 1921 in Modesto, CA to Albert and Rose (Laffey) McDonald. She grew up and worked in various places in California. She married Albert Scott, July 4, 1944 in Oakland, CA. They moved to Rapid City, SD in 1944, living there until moving to Tucson in 1972. Betty is survived by her husband, Albert of Tucson; a son, Greg (Dianne) of Moorhead, MN; a daughter, Gail Scott of Conyers, GA; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the Betty Scott Memorial Fund, Pine Street Elementary School, 960 Pine St., Conyers, GA 30207.

SNYDER, Louise Catherine, 73, of Tucson, passed away August 18, 1996. Survived by beloved husband, Richard G. Snyder; sons, Richard J. (Kathy) Snyder, William H. “Chip” Snyder; and daughter, Katherine A. Snyder. No services will be held at her request.Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.
