OROZCO, Marcos B., 70, born January 11, 1926 went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 24, 1996. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth; his children, Tony Orozco (Linda), Laura Hodges (Allen), Rebecca Romero (Richard), Alicia Robbins (Travis), Michael Orozco and Ruthie Orozco. He will be greatly missed by his family, 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. RECTOR, Alva, 89, died peacefully at home on November 24, 1996. Al (or 'Buntzy' as he was lovingly known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and his wife and daughters moved to Tucson 40 years ago from Columbus, Ohio. He worked for Hughes Aircraft and retired from Az State Highway Dept. in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Iona Strait Rector; his three daughters, Arlene (Larry) Elliott, Diane (George) Tietz, Judy (Jim) Moore, all of Tucson; eight grandchildren, Sue (Dave) Smith of Longmont, CO, Edward Elliott, Laura Elliott of Tucson, Allysun (Dale) Berg of Okanawa, Jeffrey Dinkin of West Hills, CA, Jason Tietz, Dan (Marydale) Moore and Roger Moore of Tucson; 11 great-grandchildren, Ben, Crystal, Amy, Sunny, Cavin, Krysten, Allysha, Elliott, Mason, Nick and Logan. Also survived by brothers, Herb Rector and Frank (Wilda) Rector of Phoenix; sisters, Evie Roseberry of West Jefferson, Ohio, Jane Donaldson, Morgantown, WVA; and sister-in-law, Clara (Wayne) Bennett of Zanesville, Ohio. He also left behind literally hundreds of friends from all around the country. Al will be missed by all who knew him, he had great humor, quick wit and a mischievous smile for everyone. He had many stories of his life that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He also left those stories in writing, he kept a Day Book starting in 1943 and wrote something everyday. SMALL, Benjamin Jay (B.J.), was born January 17, 1915 in Mansfield, Ohio. He and his family came to live in Tucson in 1958. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; and three children, Louise O’Hearn, Mary Stecheson and Ernest Small, as well as five grandchildren. Mr. Small was in the real estate business until he retired in 1970. He was a member of Tucson Country Club and was an avid golfer. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 1996 at the First Congregational Church, 824 N. TOLLMAN, James Perry, M.D. Dr. J. Perry Tollman died Thursday, November 21, 1996 at age 92. Dr. and Mrs. Tollman had been residents of Tucson since 1974. Dr. Tollman had served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and was active for a number of years in theTucson Rotary Club. Dr. Tollman was on the faculty of the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha from 1931 until 1974, and served as Dean of the Medical School and Superintendent of the University Hospital from 1952 until 1964. He served as Lt.Colonel in the Air Force in 1951-2, and afterwards as consultant to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. He received the Distinguished Service to Medicine Award from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1975 in recognition of his years of service to the institution and profession. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth M. Tollman; sons, James Daniel of Phoenix and Thomas A. of Omaha; daughter, Janet Jones of Tucson; and six grandchildren. A private service was held for family members. The family suggests that memorials be sent to support the McGoogan Library of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE 68198 or Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tucson.
VALENCIA, Ignacio E., Sr., 61, of Tucson passed away November 24, 1996. Survived by wife, Maria A. Valencia; daughter, Christina (Roy) Burr; sons, Manuel A.Valencia and Ignacio E. Valencia Jr; sister, Nachita (Frank) Romero; brother, Ernesto (Theresa) Garcia; grandson, Angel R. Burr; mother-in-law, Vicenta Villanueva. After suffering many years with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Ignacio has gone home to his place of peace to join the Lord. He is survived by his future daughters-in-law, Monica Mayorga and Tessa Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. WEST, Jackie Ray. An informal gathering of friends of Jackie Ray West will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, at Big Mamma’s Pizza Heaven, 34 Brewery Belch, Bisbee. Mr. West died Friday. He was 56. Born August 1, 1940 in Konowa, OK. Mr. West was reared in Dumas, TX, and graduated from Dumas High School. Mr. West was married briefly to Darlene Stephens and they had one son, Michael. Jackie Ray West began his career working for Shamrock Oil and Gas Company in Amarillo, TX. He worked for Montgomery Ward and Company in New York City and later in Tucson, beginning in 1964. He moved to Bisbee in 1988, and worked first at The Bead Shop, and later at The Gold Shop. His last employment at Big Mamma’s Pizza. Mr. West was a talented interior designer and gardener. He enjoyed collecting Western and Native American art, listening and dancing to country western music, entertaining and attending rodeos. WORDEN, Hester L., 100, of Tucson, AZ, died November 24, 1996. BREZA, Minerva, 82, of Tucson, Arizona died November 21, 1996. Minerva was born to Peter and Theresa LaBean of Linwood, Michigan on August 2, 1914. She married Alex Breza on June 4, 1934. She is survived by her children, James (Ruth) Breza of Lapeer, Michigan; Betty (James) Bissellof Tok, Alaska; Rosalie (Ray) Short of Kawkawlin, Michigan; Ginger (Larry) Lau of Elizabeth, Colorado; Billie (Rande) LaPrarie of Bay City, Michigan; a sister, Beatrice Barrett of Bay City, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
