DORRIS, Peter P., 78, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of East St. Louis, ILL, died Saturday, January 18, 1997 at Devon Gables Nursing Home in Tucson, Ariz. He retired in 1966 as an Air Force maintenance Sergeant, was a World War II Army veteran and recipient of Purple Heart, a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna nee Budrius, Dorris; and a brother, Frank Dorris, who died in 1975.Surviving are three brothers, John (Mary) Dorris of Alta Loma, Calif., Paul Dorris and Joe Dorris, both of East St. Louis, ILL; dear uncle of Bill Dorris, Frank Dorris and Fred Dorris all of East St. Louis, ILL, John Dorris of Los Angeles, Calif; a niece, Rita Feidler of Belleville, ILL; two sisters-in-law, Rita Dorris of East St. Louis, ILL and Mary Dorris of Los Angeles, Calif.; dear great-uncle and cousin. MATLOCK, Elizabeth (Beth), 42 years, passed away January 22, 1997after a long courageous battle with cancer. Beth is survived by husband, William (Bill); son, David; and daughter, Danielle; parents, Frank and Faye Cassity; and brother, Paul (Linda), all of Tucson. She is also survived by her husband’s parents, brother and sisters. Numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by nephew, Thomas Michael Cassity of Tucson. Beth graduated from Catalina High School and attended the University of Arizona. She has been a hairdresser since graduation. Beth is a native of Tucson, living in Mesa, AZ for five years before moving back to Tucson in 1980. METCALF, John Robert, of Palm Desert, CA for eight years, died January 22, 1997. He was born on March 8, 1929 in Ohio to Robert Metcalf and Elizabeth Hild. PIESLEWICZ, Paul R., 49, died January 22, 1997. Beloved husband of Catherine; devoted father of Laura, Adam and David Pieslewicz and chosen children, Becky, Michael, Kasey, Jerimey, Jamie, Jamie and Amy. ZAHN, Adam Julius, 65, of Tucson, died Friday, January 17, 1997. He was the beloved brother of Hilda Rose Zahn Spagna of Green Valley, AZ, Jeanne Theresa Walters of Payson, UT, Leona Mary, Kathryn Ann and H. George Zahn all of Union, NJ and Walter Theodore Zahn of Edison, NJ. Adam was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Eugene (a.k.a. Eugene Adam) and Hilda Lapp Zahn and his sister, D. Yvonne Muraglia. Graduating from Union, NJ schools in 1950, The NJ National Guard, Army and Air Force occupied him until 1961. One of his stations was Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Coulter Electronics in Hialeah, FL employed him until 1963, transferring him from Union, NJ to Albuquerque, NM and finally to Hialeah, FL. Retiring from Coulter in 1993, he moved to Green Valley joining American Legion Post #66. He left Green Valley to tour the states in his Winnebago. He was a member of the 'Escapees RV Club'. He settled in Tucson last year, joining the American Legion Post #36. BARCLAY, Ralph K., died on January 20, 1997. Dr. Barclay was a biochemist educated at the University of Illinois and Iowa State University. He worked for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY from 1939 to 1947 in emulsion research. He conducted chemotherapy cancer research at Sloan-Kettering Institute in New York from 1949 to 1966. He was the director of Pharmaceutical Division at Ciba Geigy in New Jersey until his retirement in 1980. Dr. Barclay made several important contributions to science and industry. As an organic chemist he invented infrared imaging film for Kodak. While at Sloan-Kettering Dr. Barclay was responsible for elucidating and isolating the purification procedures for identifying the molecular structure of DNA. Additionally he was the senior author for the radioactive thallium test currently used for the detection of heart disease. Dr. Barclay has resided in Tucson since 1986. He is survived by his spouse, Dr. Marion B. Barclay; two sons and their spouses, David and Marcia Barclay of Enid, OK and Richard and Ann Barclay of Aurora, CO; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. LORING, Elizabeth Katherine, 84, died at her home in Benson, January 18, 1997. A native of Calumet, Mich., Liz and her geologist husband of 52 years, William B. Loring, had lived in Benson since 1994, after living in Douglas since 1978. She is survived by her husband, Bill; one sister, Mary Zunich (Mrs. Joseph) of Calumet; daughters, Anne Loring of Minneapolis and Jeanne Loring of Foster City, Calif. Also surviving are grandchildren, Carl, Kurt and John Froehlich of Minneapolis and Alice Froehlich of Eugene, Ore. and one great-grandchild, Luisa Kennefick of Sag Harbor, NY. MOONEY, Margaret 'Peggy' Spencer, 66, of Wilmette, IL, and formerly of Tucson, passed away November 16, 1996. She is survived by her husband, William J. BELDEN, Robert D., a former New York City advertising executive, died in Tucson on January 22, 1997. Born in Syracuse, New York, on October 3, 1923, he fought with the 82nd Airborne Division in Europe during the Second World War. After graduating from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, in 1949, he joined Young and Rubicam advertising agency in New York as an account executive. Moving to the Los Angeles office and then back to New York, he eventually served as a senior vice president of the agency. A long-time resident of Wilton, Connecticut, Bob was an active member and served as president of both the Silver Spring Country Club in Ridgefield, Connecticut and the Saugatuck Shores Club in Saugatuck, Connecticut. He retired and moved to Tucson in 1985, where he was active as board member of La Paloma Country Club and the La Paloma homeowners association. He was also active in Belden and Company in Tucson, supervising all of the firm’s advertising and marketing. A deeply loved and loving husband, father and friend. Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons and three daughters, Robert D. Jr. (Janice) of L’Etang-La-Ville France, Michael W. (Maureen) of Newburgh, New York, Kathleen (Merritt) Schoff of Brookfield, Connecticut, Julia (Andrew) Culver of Barrington, Illinois and Elizabeth Fitzgerald of Tucson; 10 grandchildren and a sister, Natalie Brooks Barringer of Baltimore, Maryland.
