MEYERS, Sara, 88, of Tucson, died December 29, 1996. Mrs. Meyers was a member of Temple Ner Tamid and Choir, Tucson Music Teachers Association, Chicago Federation of Musicians, Tucson Masterworks Chorale, ORT, Opera Guild, Patron of Tucson Symphony and loving piano teacher of multiple generations of students. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Meyers, and her sisters, Elizabeth Fain and Jeanette Miller. Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Larry) Harris and Irene (Steve) Lloyd of Tucson; son, Gene (Carole) Meyers, Ph.D., of Berkeley, CA; sister, Mollie Teich of Tucson; grandchildren, Carly Harris, Jeremy Harris, David Meyers, and Suzanne Meyers. Memorial Service Tuesday, 12:00 noon in EVERGREEN MORTUARY with Rabbi Joseph Weizenbaum officiating. Interment in Palatine, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to T.M.T.A., 4611 N. Shinumo Dr., Tucson, 85749 or your favorite charity. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.

MOORE, Charles Edward. Born December 17, 1909 in Leon, Iowa, died December 30, 1996. He worked for 30 years for the Railway Mail Service (USPS) and also for the University of Arizona for 10 years. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He is survived by wife, Elda Lou Moore; children, Dixie Kovacs of Clifton, VA, Merry Tobin of Silver Spring, MD and Kathleen Smith of Tucson; grandchildren, Sherry Gropman, Mark Kovacs, Edward Smith, Steve Kovacs, Frank Devlin; brothers, Irvin E. Moore of Albuquerque and Robert C. Moore of Lemon Grove, CA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carondelet Hospice at St. Joseph Hospital in Charles’ name.

MORGAN, Thomas, 66, of Tucson, passed away December 27, 1996. Survived by wife, Elisabeth; sons, Matthew, William, Timothy, Mc Kee Edwards Morgan and Amy (Kim) Gilles, all of Tucson; brothers, Robert (Mary) Morgan of Montreal, Canada and George (Marinka) Morgan of Benidorm, Spain; sister, Sally (Roger) Charlesworth of Kittery Point, Maine. Also several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, George and Sarah Morgan and a sister, Frances. He was a graduate of Kent School in 1948 and of the University of Arizona in 1956, and served in the U.S.A.F. during the Korean War. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 1997 at Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Desert Museum or Tucson Botanical Gardens. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

NORDBERG, John Earl, 77, died December 27, 1996. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Helen Nordberg; daughter, Mary Ann Johnson; grandchildren, Eric, Karin, and Alex Johnson; and brother, Clarence (Virginia) Nordberg. John was born in St. Louis, MO and was a veteran of WWII. He retired from the Civil Service at Davis-Monthan AFB. John is remembered for his love of the Arizona mountains and deserts, his woodworking artistry, and his great love for and care of his family. Funeral Mass and Burial at Holy Hope Cemetery on Tuesday, December 31, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to VA Medical Center Hospice Fund, 3601 S. 6th Ave, Tucson, 85723.

ROBB, David L., Retired USAF Lt. Col., 72, passed away December 27, 1996 of cancer. Career military officer and fighter pilot serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal, Legion of Merit, Air Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Longtime member and handball player at TAC. Preceded in death by wife, Carol Louise Johnson. Survived by wife, Lorrie; son, Anthony of Tucson; daughter, Davilyn Nelson of Billings, MT; grandsons, Chris Nelson, Scott and Jeff Robb; granddaughter, Cary Knudson; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Emma Knudson and Lucas Nelson. Upon his request, there will be no memorial service. Family suggests donations be made to the University of Arizona Cancer Research Center. Arrangements by Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd & Swan.

STOFFT, Fredrick R., 91, of Paradise Valley, AZ, Lieutenant General, Arizona National Guard, passed away December 27, 1996. He was born May 9, 1905 in Galesburg, IL and moved to Arizona in 1925. Lt. Gen. Stofft was a graduate of the University of Arizona and had been named Tucson Man of the Year. He was chairman of Phoenix Centennial, president of PBSW and served on numerous business and civil boards including Arizona Bank, Mountain Bell, Goodwill, Red Cross and Boy Scouts. Lt. Gen. Stofft was a member of Phoenix Country Club, Paradise Valley Country Club, Valley Field Riding and Polo Club. Survivors include his wife, Bette; daughters, Katherine Hawley and Suzanne Nystrom; step-daughter, Barbara Young; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 1997 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, with reception following at the Church. Family requests contributions to the Arizona Cancer Center, 1515 N. Campbell, Tucson, AZ 85724 or the American Red Cross, 6135 N. Black Canyon Hwy., Phoenix, AZ 85015-1892. VANCE, Mildred (Millie) Marie, 65, of Tucson, Arizona, died December 27, 1996. Survived by her husband, Jack Vance; daughters, Nanette Stebley, Jeanette Wills; brother, Melvin Kelley; grandsons, Eric Nickerson, Brian Lawrence; granddaughter, Amy; great-grandson, Nickolas Nickerson; and great-granddaughter, Mykayla. Mobile Aire, Inc., Pro Aire Transport and Mobile Aire Hangars owner for 26 years. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Services at 4:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 1996 at South Lawn Mortuary with Pastor Gaston Ravon officiating.

WISE, Paul H., 71, born on June 26, 1925 in Trenton, MO. Passed away December 26, 1996. Survived by his wife, Virginia D. Wise residing in the Trenton, MO area; his brothers, Charles Wise, John W. Wise; and sister, Wanda Lauderback; and all their children. Paul’s four children, Lennis Mills and wife, Larry Wise and wife, Dana Simpson and husband, Shelly David and husband; daughter-in-law, Louise McLaughin and husband; seven grandchildren, Lisa Berryman, Cary Simpson, Keith Langen, Kimberly Hollis, James D. Wise, John Paul Simpson, Lisa Rios; 16 great-grandchildren, Amber, Nataz, Dustin, Scott, Brett, Christen, Alex, Alisa, Bauchee’, Lacey, Thomas, Tammy, Bobby, Ashley, Steve Jr and Cassandra. Paul was raised in the Trenton, MO area. He joined the navy at age 17 and served in WWII, moved to Tucson in 1963. A member and retiree of Teamsters Local 104 and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Battle Creek, MI. Dad will be missed by all.

ZINN, Sandra M., 55, died December 29, 1996. Wife of, W. Glen Zinn of Tucson; mother of Bret W. Zinn of Scottsdale, Matthew G. Zinn of Everett, WA and Melissa C. Lippert of El Paso, TX; sister of, John M. Keeley of Pembine, WI, David M. Keeley of Schaumburg, IL, Kurt M. Keeley of Littleton, CO and Kathleen Yukna of Gurnee, IL; grandmother of Travis Lippert of El Paso, TX. Memorial Service 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with Reverend Howard Higgins officiating. The family suggest donations to UMC Cancer Research Center, 1515 N. BUCKLEY, Julia R., 97, of Tucson, died December 28, 1996. Survived by daughters, Marion Hachmeister of Park Ridge, IL, Norma Lindskog of Tucson, and Rosemary Lucas of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. CONROY, Ruth B., 89, of Tucson, died Saturday, December 28, 1996. GARCIA, Victoria Cota, 90, of Tucson, passed away December 28, 1996. GORDON, Alexander Dorward, died in Tucson on December 28, 1996, at age 92. A native of Connecticut, Mr. Gordon moved to Tucson in 1985. A graduate of Phillips Academy (Andover) and Yale University, he was a stockbroker for most of his life. He leaves two sons, Mark A. Gordon (Julia Brown Gordon) of Tucson and Howard D. Gordon; three granddaughters, Paige A. Gordon-Oshan (Paul F. Oshan), Sarah A. Gordon, and Kimberly A. Gordon; and four step-granddaughters, Laura P. Barton (Peter R. Barton), Dr. Robin G. Perry, Jennifer C.Perry, and Anne M. Perry. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31 at Saint Philip’s In The Hills Church at Campbell and River Road. Burial will be in Hazardville, CT.

GREGORY, Howard (Bus), 74, of Tucson, passed away on December 26, 1996. Affectionately known to all as 'Bus', he was born in Morristown, New Jersey, January 16, 1922. He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter, Joan (Teston), son-in-law, Robert Teston, and grandsons, John and David Teston. An active square dancer and round dancer for the past 36 years, Bus will be missed by the dancers of Tucson. An active member of San Xavier Mission Catholic Church in Tucson and Saint Rita’s in Show Low, his enthusiasm and his willingness to volunteer will be missed. A Memorial Service in celebration of Bus’s life will be held on Monday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hall at Rincon Country West, 4555 S.Mission Road, Tucson.

JAROSZEWSKI, Jane P., 82, born to Frank and Theodora Rutkowski, August 18, 1914, in Chicago, IL; passed away December 28, 1996. Affectionately known as 'Gram'or 'Grandma Jane' to many. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vincent and son, Jim (Josephine Parr). She was a loving, caring and devoted mother and touched the lives of many people who admittedly had a soft spot in their hearts for her. She is survived by her children, Vince (Sue), Bull Head City, AZ; Dianne (John) Hope, Las Vegas, NV; and Sue (Frank) Knafelz, Tucson, AZ. She had nine grandchildren who loved her dearly; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Estelle (late Bruno) Bazelewski, Calumet City, IL; and brother, Albin (Evelyn) Rutkowski, Crown Point, IN. There are many nieces and nephews. We will celebrate her life with a visitation on Monday, December 30, 1996 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte, Tucson, at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 1996. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL on Thursday, January 2, 1997. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to Hospice Family Care, 3443 E. Ft. Lowell, Tucson, AZ 85716.

KIMBERLIN, Ronald C., 74, a 30 year resident of Tucson, passed away December 25, 1996. Born May 21, 1922 in Selma, Virginia. Mr. Kimberlin was a member of D.A.V. Chapter 28 and V.F.W. Post 10015. Survived by his very good friend, Rose Dillenback and nieces and nephews in Virginia. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 1996 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave.Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL. Rev. Les Plattner officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

KOZACKI, Ronald J. (Butch), 59, of Tucson, died December 27, 1996. Survived by wife, Anne A.; daughters, Gail A. (Frank) Terek; Kristina M. (Ronald) Corbin; grandchildren, R.J. and Bobby Corbin; step-grandchildren, Lissamarie and David Terek; mother, Rose Leja; sister, Gail Kaster; brother, John; in-laws; nieces; and nephews. Mr. Kozacki was founder of Ron’s Flooring, Inc., and a member of American Legion Post #36. Services 10:00 a.m., December 31, 1996 at South Lawn with Harry Wineinger of American Legion Post #36 officiating. Interment at South Lawn. Remembrances may be made, in lieu of flowers, to a charity of your choice.

LANDEEN, Fred H., MD, 72, died December 27, 1996. Survived by children, Jonathan (Colette) of Tucson, Cynthia (Edwin) of Eugene, Oregon, Stephanie (Gary) of Paradise Valley and Christopher (Kathleen) of Tucson; and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by Elizabeth Rae in 1991. He was a devoted father and well-loved and respected member of the community and will be greatly missed by many. A Memorial Service will be held at Tucson Medical Center’s Marshall Auditorium, January 2nd at 11:00 a.m. The Family suggests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 40 North Swan Road, Tucson, AZ. 85711.
