SAN MARTIN (Campos), Roberto, of Tucson, went to be with Jesus this past Easter weekend. Roberto was a pioneer in Spanish radio and television. As a radio personality he was loved by his many fans and he was always there for his friends. He is survived by his loving children, Patti (John) Lampe, Robert Campos, George Campos, Adela (Robert) Costelow; and his two loving grandchildren, Chase and Cody Lampe. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at Iglesia De Dios Vivo, 4615 South Park. SMAR, Anna E., 85, beloved mother, nana, and great-grandmother entered the Kingdom of Heaven into the Arms of God on Tuesday, April 1, 1997 after a long illness. She came to Tucson 25 years ago following the death of her husband, Anthony D. Smar in Clark, NJ. She is survived by her children, Esther (John) Feldman of Tucson, Anthony (Ethel) Smar of Brick, NJ, Maryann (Roscoe)Conklin of Coeur d’Alene, ID; grandchildren, Richard Feldman, Gil (Shari) Feldman, Sandra (Jay) Cawley, Nancy (Jim) Frey, Heather (Robb) Pafchek, Ginger (Dee) Gillespie, Alyce (William) Tombs, Holly (Lou) Baran, Don Smar, Jennifer (Tom) Zirkle, Jeff Conklin, Jackie (Roy) Glander, Jill (Ray) Judge, Jerry Conklin, Josh Conklin, Jason Conklin, Jane (Dennis) Kenny; 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Prior to her illness she cherished her wonderful family. Her years in NJ were memorable as a private investigator, police matron, civilian driver for US Army Ordinance and school bus driver. She was Charter President and member of American Legion Post 328 Auxiliary in Clark, NJ. The family wishes to thank the nursing and administrative staffs at Manor Care Health Services for the loving and thoughtful care they gave Anna throughout her illness. The family also is grateful to the staff of Integra Hospice Foundation who comforted and cared for Anna, along with Manor Care’s nursing staff in her last days. MILLS, Vera F., age 83, died March 30, 1997. She was born in Washington County, Colorado, to Rev. James and Ella Thomas Wilkins. She married Orville A. Mills on September 23, 1939. Before retiring, she was working as a nurse at Iowa State Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; previously, she has worked at a nursing home in Loveland, Colorado for 15 years. Due to her poor health she had moved to Tucson in 1986 where she has been an active member of the Pima Street Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son, A. Dean Mills and daughter-in-law, Patricia of Tucson; brother, Rev. MOSIER, Peter M., 76, died in his sleep March 28, 1997, losing his long struggle against Alzheimer’s. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia; four children, Marianne (David) Quinn, Tucson; Patricia Elliott, CA; Peter Michael Mosier (Laura), Tucson; Pamela (Stephen) Turbot, CO; five grandchildren, Tony Corona, Tucson; Alex Mosier, US Navy; Douglas Mosier, Tucson; Flannery and Addison Turbot, CO. After serving in the Navy during World War II, Pete attended the University of Arizona where he graduated with distinction. He was elected Student Body President and was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Blue Key. A resident of Tucson for more than 50 years, Pete was one of the founders of the Southern Arizona Association of Life Underwriters, a member of the Board of Realtors and Skyline Country Club. PRESTON, Charles B., passed away after a prolonged illness, in the presence of family and friends, on Saturday, March 29, 1997 at Tucson Medical Center. Mr. Preston was born in Pride, TX in 1915. He graduated from high school in Dora, NM and attended New Mexico A & M Univ. in Las Cruses, NM. Mr. Preston married Maxine Rumbaugh in 1939. She preceded him in death in 1975. He retired as Hospital Administrator after 25 years in Deming, NM, where he had made many friends. Mr. Preston moved to Tucson in 1976 and married the former Esther Scott in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Esther of Tucson; son, Gary Preston of Grants Pass, OR; step-daughters, Yvonne Long of Phoenix, AZ, Anita McDowell of Chicago, IL; brothers, Sidney Preston of Roswell, NM, Kenneth Richards of Astoria, OR; sister, Luna Mae Martin of Fallon, NV. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and 12 grandchildren. Mr. Preston enjoyed being with his extended family and was a lifelong sports fan.
