In Loving Memory of Thomas Earl Sargent, who passed on to be with our Lord Jesus on August 12, 2001.
Tom was a decorated USMC 20 year retiree, and Viet Nam Veteran. After retirement, Tom taught computers at AWC, and later worked at YPG as a Human Factors Engineer.
Tom is survived by his wife Patricia Sargent, Children: Craig and Lisa Sargent. Siblings: Patricia Gunn, Jerry and Chris Sargent,; 4 step-children: Kimberly, Derek, Karen and Matthew Needham. and Seven Grandchildren: Matthew, Michael and Macee Sargent.; Ryan, Jesse and Patricia Needham and Kaitlin Riney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Heflin and Eulane Sargent.
A memorial Service will be held at Word Of Life Outreach Center on Friday, August 17th, 2001 at 10:00 a.m.

David Patrick Connors

David Patrick Connors, 24 passed away on August 7, 2001 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on March 5, 1977.
David is survived by his Mother, Ruth Davis; Brother Daniel Davis, Sisters Crystal Connors and Sherry Connors, Niece Raelynn Connors and Nephew Dylan Hadrick.
He was preceded in death by his father James Edward Connors Jr.
Visitation will be at Kammann Mortuary, 795 W. 28th St. on Friday, August 17, 2001 from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm.
Funeral services will be at East Cocopah Reservation in Somerton, Az. on Friday, August 17, 2001 from 3:00pm to 5:00 am.
Pallbearers will consist of family and friends.
Final resting place will be at the East Cocopah Reservation.
Twenhart Richard Olson
Twenhart Richard Olson, 80 of Yuma passed away on August 13, 2001 at his residence. He was born January 12th, 1921 in Willmar, Minnesota. He married Lucille Logan on Jan 22nd 1946 and resided in El Cajon, Ca for 43 years until recently moving to Yuma.
Twenhart is survived by his loving wife of 55 years. Lucille, 1 son Richard (Ann) of El Cajon, 1 daughter Linda (Robert) Seebold of San Marcos, Ca. Four granddaughters Chris Olson of Santa Barbara, Ca, Shelly (Danny) Moreno of Yuma. Denise (Johnny) Maldonado of San Marcos and Anitra Seebold of San Marcos. Also two great grandchildren; Alex and Lexxi Moreno of Yuma.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Elda.
Private services will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, Ca.

Guy William Kizer
Guy William Kizer, 62, passed away on August 15, 2001. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 26, 1938.
Guy is survived by his wife, Vera; mother, Betty Mitchell; brothers, Carl Kizer and George Mitchell; sisters, Linda Fields and Verna Williams; daughters, Marcia Doby, Helene Mauer, Tricia Kizer and Susan Kizer. Survivors also include 7 nephews, 6 nieces, 4 granddaughters and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Lenn Orris Kizer and 2 nieces.
Funeral services will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 1550 S. 14th Ave. on Saturday, August 18, 2001 at 2:00 PM.

Darrell E. Lloyd
Darrell E. Lloyd, passed away on August 1, 2001 in Tucson, Az.
He was an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene and a graduate of the Nazarene Bible College, Colorado Springs, Co. He served as pastor of churches in Alabama, Indiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lura; daughters Moneica and Sarah; brothers Bill, Randy and Jeff and a sister, Joanne Fulling.
Services were held on August 6, 2001 in Tucson, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, 500 W. Calle Concordia, Oro Valley, Arizona.

Margarito Alvarado
Margarito Alvarado, 94, passed away on August 15, 2001 at Life Care Center of Yuma, Arizona. He was born on July 10, 1907, in Gomez Palacio Durango, Mexico. He was brought by his father to the Yuma area at the age of 1 and spent the rest of his life here. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad until he retired in 1975.
He is survived by son, Robert Alvarado; daughter, Tina Apolinar, Theodora Rico, and Margaret Rodriguez; 21 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ynez; daughters, Lucia Alvarado and Connie Aguilar; son, Eligio Alvarado; and grandson, Fernando Aguilar Jr.
Wake will be held Sunday August 19, 2001 at Johnson’s Mortuary from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral mass will be on Monday, August 20, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Final resting place will be Desert lawn Memorial.
Pallbearers and Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren.
Kenneth “Shorty” Linville
Kenneth Eugene Linville, 75, passed away on August 16, 2001. He was born on May 24, 1926 in Akron, Ohio to parents, Robert and Lillian. Ken served in the Army during World War II as a tank operator. He brought his family to Yuma from Pennsylvania in 1961. He worked as a truckdriver and yard foreman for Economy Lumber and Southwest Lumber before working as a heavy equipment operator at Yuma Proving Ground before his retirement in 1986. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and taking care of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Ethel of 53 years; daughters, Ethel and Linda of Atlanta, GA; sons, Kenneth and Thomas; daughter-in-law, Lisa; granddaughter, Stacy and grandson, Thomas.
Survivors also include sisters, Doris Alcorn, Jean Richter, Betty Lou Damasky, Shirley Orbin, and Joanna Close; brother, Donald Linville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on August 22, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at Kammann Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Yuma.
Samuel M. Welch III
Samuel M. Welch III, age 87, of Mesa, AZ, died on August 13, 2001 at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, NJ.
Mr. Welch was born in Trenton, NJ and formerly of Hamilton Township, NJ, Ship Bottom, NJ, and Yuma, AZ, before moving to Mesa, AZ where he lived for the past twenty years.
Mr. Welch was a United States Army Veteran Serving during World War II with the Military Police. He retired from the State of New Jersey, Trenton, in 1975 where he worked as an Engineer of Maintenance for the Bordentown Reformatory and the New Jersey School for the Deaf. He was a member and past commander for the VFW Hamilton Post #3525, a member of Gothic Lodge F. & A.M. Trenton, and a Past President for the Hamilton Township Board of Education.
Mr. Welch was a Founder and Coach of the Hamilton Little Bigger League that eventually became Babe Ruth League and inducted in the Babe Ruth League Hall of Fame in 1974. He was a Coach for the Little League Baseball and the Yuma Youth Soccer, AZ. He was a life guard for Long Beach Island during the 1930’s.
Mr. Welch is survived by his wife Charlotte (nee Golden), three daughters and sons-in law, Susanne & Lee Cook, Mesa, AZ; Candace & Roger Steill, Paradise Valley, AZ and Mary Catherine & Kenne Reichel, Scottsdale, one Sister Marie Welch Leckie, Basking Ridge. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Kip, Samuel & Casey Steill, Amanda Cook Jemsek, Michael Cook and Natalie, Erin Preston and Shawn Stevenson and six great grandchildren.
