VILMANYI, Barbara H., died on March 23, 1997 after a long illness. She was born in Hungary, Europe on March 15, 1901 and immigrated to America in 1922. Barbara has been a resident of Tucson since 1968. Loving mother of Clara V. Buckelew of Tucson, AZ and Daniel Vilmanyi of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Vilmanyi; her son, Louis Nicholas Vilmanyi; her sister, Clara Swanson; and her granddaughter, Kathy Vilmanyi. ABER, Michael Orr, 51, best friend and husband of Lois Chamberlain Aber, passed peacefully into the Light March 20–the first day of Spring. In Tucson he left behind four stepchildren, Jason, Lisa, Ashley, and Seth Chamberlain; three grandchildren, Lauren, Jessica, and Jason; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and 'Pete' Peterson; and many loving and devoted friends. His inspiring story of spirit, courage, faith, and miracles will long be remembered by those who knew and loved him. BERRY, Beverly Jean, died Sunday, March 23, 1997 at her home in Tucson. Beverly was born July 19, 1930 in Flora, IL. She was the daughter of Ralph S. and Anna Thompson Berry, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Berry of Tucson. Other survivors include four aunts, one uncle, numerous cousins including Pam (Tom) Moore and daughters of Tucson; and Susan (Ralph) Schild and daughters of Tucson. Beverly retired to Tucson following a 42 year career with the Missouri Pacific (eventually Union Pacific) Railroad in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Tucson. She was a member and past national officer in the National Association of Railway Businesswomen.After moving to Tucson, Beverly became active in Welcome Wagon and served as Secretary. Graveside Services and Burial will be in Flora, Illinois. A Memorial Service for Beverly Berry will be held in Tucson at a later date. DESIST, Rev. Dr. Dominick F., 90, of Tucson, died Saturday, March 22, 1997. He is survived by his daughter, Jeanne D. Desist was a pastor for 50 years in West Virginia, 10 years in Florida, and was a former pastor of Rincon Baptist Church in Tucson. He was currently a member of Boulevard Baptist Church. REYMER, Richard Wilson, 69, of Tucson, Arizona. Born in Washington, D.C. on December 28, 1927, and retired from the United States Air Force 1977. Dick was welcomed into the arms of his Lord Jesus March 23, 1997 after a brief and painful journey with cancer. He was surrounded by his family’s love. He was met by his father and mother, Paul and Agnes Reymer and his brother, James Reymer. BUTARE, Patricia, died on March 21, 1997 after being struck by a car in Phoenix. Mrs. Butare, born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1944, has been a resident of Tucson since 1994. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chatham College in Pittsburgh, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, and a Masters in Counseling from the State University of New York in Albany. She was a former Vice President of the Bank of Sante Fe as well as a Vice President of Community Savings Bank in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Most recently, Mrs. Butare was an Arizona Certified Counselor practicing in Tucson. She is survived by her husband, Joseph J. Butare, Jr., of Tucson; her son, Joel Van Amberg of Tucson; and her mother, Ruth Baisler Anderson of Columbus, Ohio. Her late father was Albert W. Baisler, former President of State University of New York in Jamestown. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary A. Doyle of New London, New Hampshire, and Linda B. Weeks of McKinleyville, California; her daughter-in-law, Deirdre Van Amberg of Tucson; her step-children, Joseph J. Butare III of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Susan A. Butare of Tucson; her niece, Heather Grogan of Eugene, Oregon; and her nephews, Bradford Doyle of Rhode Island and Jonathon Doyle of Massachusetts. MANGELSDORF, Carl H. M.D. Entered into eternal rest on March 21, 1997 at 12: 07 a.m. He was born on October 15, 1929 in Rock Island, ILL. He is survived by his wife of 44 Years, Chastine; four children, Carl H. III, Mar Sue Haffner, Michele, and Thomas; one brother, Richard and Jeannie; four sisters, Joan (Mrs. Robert) Van der Zee, Donna (Mrs. William) Hett, Janet (Mrs.Donald) Mullinax, and Judy (Mrs. Franklin) Rose; two grandchildren, Heidi S. Mangelsdorf and Carl H. Mangelsdorf IV; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He attended Augustana College and later received a B.S. Degree from the University of Iowa and his M.D. Degree in 1954 from Iowa. His internship was at Hurley Hospital in Flint, Mich.He entered Public Health in Special Health Services, a branch of the U.S. Coast Guard for two years, serving in Baton Rouge, La., various areas in Michigan, including Detroit Receiving. In 1955 he entered Family Practice with Dr. Richard Lundeen, in Flint, Mich, serving on the staff of three major hospitals there. The family moved to Tucson, due to his wife’s arthritis, in 1975, leaving many loving patients. He practiced Family Practice on Camino Principal and Tanque Verde, taking over Dr. Macbeth’s practice, until he had to retire due to a physical disability in December 1989. He was a Diplomat in the American Academy of Family Practice, retired member of the Pima County Medical Society, Az. Academy of Family Practice, A.M.A. Dr. Carl, as he was affectionately called by many loving patients and friends, loved to travel, golf, boat and the Arizona mountains, He was a member of Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church and served on its council for eight years. During his retirement years he enjoyed the collection and study of his family genealogy and spending time with his grandchildren, Heidi and Carl IV.'DOC' will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the many loving patients he had so dedicatedly served.
