JUNG, Herbert Irving, 87, resident of Tucson since 1958, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 1997. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard. He is survived by his sons, Harold, Carl, Glenn, Walter; daughter, Beverly (Larry) Snyder; daughter-in-law, Sharon Jung; brother, Elmer Jung; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 1997 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

KAEMLEIN, Wilma. An informal gathering of friends and relatives will honor the memory of Wilma Kaemlein, Saturday, March 22, 1997 at the Little Chapel of All Nations at 1052 N. Highland. For more information call 881-7070.

LARUE, Eldon James, Retired Lt. Colonel, U.S.A., 82, died March 19, 1997 in Mesa, AZ. Survived by sister, Donna Thomas of Mesa, AZ; nephew, Mike Thomas and niece, Leanne Dayton. Eldon was manager for Mountain States Telephone before retirement also graduate of Mesa High School and Arizona State University and the University of Arizona. Cryptside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 1997 at the East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS.

LONGLEY, Clara-Margaret, 'Vicki', passed away March 20, 1997. Survived by husband, Leon J.; daughter Mary Minor Terry; sons, Dr. J. E. Disiere, Roy E. Disiere; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. No services at her request. Memorial service to be announced. Remembrances to the charity of choice.

PALOWSKI, Barbara, 101, of Tucson, died March 18, 1997. Survived by children, Chester of Tucson, Bernard of CA, Frank of PA and Alice Katafiasz of Tucson; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Fuller officiating. Friends may call Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Services conducted by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd (1 1/2 block N. of Grant Rd.) 327-6341.

RODIG, Anna Marie, 86, died March 20, 1997. Mother of Hap (Jacque) Rodig of Hilmar, CA; and Celeste Garigan of Tucson; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by husband, Ray R. Rodig. Owner/operator of Rodig’s Tucson Optical Service with husband for 46 years. She was a member of the Pioneer Historical Society. Mass will be offered 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 1997 at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 3201 E. Presidio Rd., with Monsignor Robert Fuller officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

SHERAW, Julia E., 70, has gone to be with the Lord, March 18, 1997. Born in Cresson, PA, October 3, 1926. Survived by loving husband, Duane E. Sheraw; son, Harry E. Sheraw (Linda); daughter, Nancy L. Arenas (Domingo) and grandson, Ron Arenas (Janay) and many loving family members and friends. Memorial service will be held Friday, March 21, 2:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 7801 E. Kenyon Rd.Donations may be made to Tucson Association for the Blind, 3767 E. Grant Rd.

SIMPSON, Thomas, 97, born February 10, 1900 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, died March 19, 1997. He came to America at age 19 and worked the docks of New York City. After the death of his wife, Martha in 1968, he moved to Tucson. He is survived by his sister, Violet Simpson of Northern Ireland and his dearest friends for over 20 years, Miriam Stein of Tucson. Always a lover of music, Tommy played fiddle in his youth and sang Danny Boy for the last time on March 14, 1997 with his friend, Fran Westra, who will miss him greatly. No services are planned.

STEIN, Hans Fred, M.D., 83, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 1997. Dr. Stein was former chief of Tuberculosis Services at the V.A. Hospital, as well as Lecturer at the University Medical Center. He was also Fellow Emeritus of the American College of Chest Physicians and an active board member of the Arizona Lung Association. He retired from service to his country as full colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Liddy; his children, Shirley Cowen (Stan) of Chatsworth, California, Linda Caprara of Nixa, Missouri and Michael Stein (Cindy) of Tucson, as well as grandchildren, Michelle and Jennifer Cowen; Eryne and Allison Caprara and Amanda Stein. He will be missed by his family and by those whose lives he touched. Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 1997 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona 85712. Donations may be made to the Heart Center c/o University Medical Center, Room 6404, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, AZ 85724.

TERRAZAS, Guadalupe (Lupe), 78, died peacefully March, 18, 1997. Lupe, a long time Tucson resident is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cipriano and by her ten children, Ysabel (William) Contreras, Henry (Pat), Mary Kennel of CA; John (Margaret) Albert (Frances) of N.C., Helen (Milton) Duarte-Agte, Jessie (Lizzie) of CA, Frances (Mike) Markussen, James (Artie) and Rachel (Geno) Sollenberger. In addition Lupe is survived by many loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A viewing for family and friends will be held at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Avenue, on Sunday (23rd) from 5:00 to 8:00 with a service at 7:00 p.m.Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery on Monday at 9:00 a.m.

ALVAREZ, Marcelina, 91, of Tucson, passed away March 15, 1997. Survived by daughters, Matilda A. Garcia, Josefa Valencia, Angelita Martinez, Barbara Alvarez; sons, Gerardo (Trinidad) Alvarez, Mariano Matus; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 1997 at St. Martin De Porres beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Saturday, March 22, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at Capilla St. Martin De Porres. Interment to follow at Monte Calvario Cemetery. Arrangements by CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY.

BRADFORD, Donald A., 78, of Tucson, died March 17, 1997. Survived by sons, Barry Bradford of MI and Don (Susan) Bradford of Tucson; daughters, Carla (Ron) DaLee of Phoenix and Carol (Gary) Slagel of Tucson; grandchildren, Marisa DaLee, Brad DaLee, Adam Slagel, Carly Bradford and Steven Bradford. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. where funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 21. Burial will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

DANFORTH, Edwin Ray, 47, went to be with his Angels on March 14, 1997. Preceded in death by his father, Edwin; and his mother, Belva. Those of us who remain consist of his older brother, Stan (Sis); nephews, Mike (Ann), Richard (Teri), Bo (Dana); nieces, Cynthia (Josh) Mitunai, and Chris; eight great-nieces (one of them to whom Ed was known as Paddie); six great-nephews; also numerous super tight friends and CBers. In Michigan is his daughter, Melissa; and son, Eddie Paul; and a special 'Cousin Mike'. Let not your heart be heavy anymore Ed – Soar with your Angels.
Dear Eddie, the question we need an answer to is why, why, why, oh why you? We know you’re soaring with the Angels now – high up and free. Not weighed down by past, present or future burdens to be; Loneliness and no soulmate is a heartbreaking thing. But, now with the Angles we’ll hear you sing; we’ll listen for your whisper in our ears, your gentle nudge so we know you’re near; Although you’re already missed by those who Love and Care. We somehow know you’ve found your peace and happiness with Angels there; We Love You, Bro, Eddie, Unc, Paddie and VK.

FORNER, Olive, 85, of Tucson, died March 17, 1997. Survived by sons, Walter and Bob; grandson, Curtis and one great-granddaughter. Services were held at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and interment was in South Lawn Cemetery. Services conducted by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd (327-6341).

GARCIA, Constance Z., July 12, 1925, passed away March 18, 1997. Preceded in death by Federico G. Lopez and Benjamin N. Garcia. Survived by her sister, Mary Z. Leon (Annie, Frank, Vicky, Robert, Andy), daughters, Mary L. Thompson (Diane and Ben), Sylvia T. Lopez (Joe), Eva L. Scheckel (Bill, Nikki, Cassie), sons, Fred Z. Lopez (Brenda, Charlie, Rachel, Stephanie, Alexis), Conrad Lopez (Alissa). Devoted friends: Meline Olivares, Nadine Montez, Ubaldo and Lilly Leon, Josephine Garcia (Gloria and family), Hank C. and friend, thank you for your friendship. Constance’s devotion to God and St. Jude has led her home and is in peace.
We have lost our best friend, but we will not forget you. Sylvia, Fred, Eva, Mary and Conrad.

MIREK, Edward John, 71, of Tucson, died March 18, 1997. He is survived by daughters, Lisa W. Weaver and Linda D. Hallett and grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 21, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Odilia Church, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

MOREN, Bernice, 93, of Tucson, passed away March, 18, 1997. Preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Moren. She is survived by her brother, Morris Bram and his wife, Lilyan of Kansas City, Missouri; children, John Moren, Mary Follet and her husband, Vermont, Barbara Altieri and Barbara Carroll – the granddaughter she raised, all of Tucson. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Mary Whetton and her husband, Floyd, Mark Follet and his wife, Leslie, all of Tucson, Cheri Peffer and her husband, John of Gardner, Kansas and several great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Elder Care and More for their wonderful care over the past year and for making her feel at peace. Viewing will be held at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, Friday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside service will be at South Lawn Cemetery immediately following at 1:30 p.m.
