Kenneth was born in Hillsboro, IL on December 4, 1927. He lived in Hillsboro as a young man and worked at South Smelter. He married the love of his life, Clara Burrow on December 4, 1945 at Hillsboro, IL. In 1945, they moved to Hillsboro where they lived until moving to be with their children in Arizona in 1968. After a brief stay in Phoenix, AZ. they returned to Hillsboro where Kenneth worked at CIPS Power Plant in Cofeen, IL. Later, in 1978 they moved for the final time to Tucson where they lived on Tucson’s eastside since 1984. Owners of Moroney’s Market on Vandalia Rd. in Hillsboro, and prior to that at Fleming’g Cleaners, Kenneth grew to know a great many neighbors and customers. During his life in Arizona, he cleaned carpets and worked for Frontier Airlines. Emphysema forced his retirement from the Airlines in 1984. A hard worker in his youth, it was only after rearing a family, that Kenneth found time for leisure activities. In Hillsboro, he became an avid bowler. Upon moving to Arizona, he took up the game of golf and spent an occasional day off hacking on the golf course with his airline friends. Later after his retirement, Kenneth teamed up with his son to coach two locally, well-known men’s slow-pitch softball teams. Many, many family friends came about through the local tournament and league softball activities known simply as 'Senior' by his players. He was a skilled hitting coach who enjoyed watching league and tournament games for hours on end. Softball became a great diversion during his last years when emphysema took its toll. Kenneth was a loving husband, terrific father role model and caring and doting 'Grandpa'. Although he has lost the battle with Emphysema, he won many smaller fights with the disease thanks to the untiring efforts of Dr. Stephen Wool. Dr. Wool made many more father’s day and holiday celebrations with 'Kenneth', 'Dad' and 'Grandpa' possible than had been expected. The family would like to extend particular thanks to TMC Hospice for personal care, spiritual help and professional medical support.
