GLASER, Robin Snell, 42, of Tucson, died March 10, 1997. Survived by her loving family: husband, Robert Glaser; sons, Andrew and Steven; sister, Nancy (Nelson) Gelsand, nieces, Shaina and Caylie Galsand; parents- in-law, Bobbi and Alan Glaser; brother-in- law, Adam (Kathy) Glaser. Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sheldon and Chaiki Snell. Robin was giving and caring in all that she did. Her college studies at the University of Arizona led to her work with the deaf at the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind. Her greatest moments were spent in sharing in her children’s activities and laughing with her husband. She delighted in volunteer activities whether assisting at her sons’ elementary school or working on behalf of many charitable causes. Robin’s gift for life and her wonderful, generous spirit, touched everyone that she knew. The family and friends will miss her so. A Memorial service will be held at the Tucson Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Rd., Wednesday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. A brief graveside service will follow immediately afterwards at East Lawn Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant. Rd. LEONARDO, James, died March 8, 1997 in Tucson. Services will be held at St. Odelia Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m., March 12, with interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. Mr. Leonardo was born October 16, 1914 in Savanna, IL, and attended Cornell College and Cedar Rapids Business College. He was employed by the Des Moines, Iowa Post Office from 1938 until his retirement in 1981, except for two years of WWII military service with the Persian Gulf Command. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Wilma Leonardo; his sister, Angeline Richardson of Joliet, IL; sons, James S. (Peggy) of Des Moines and John S. of Tucson; daughters, Catherine Leonardo of New York City and Nancy (Michael) Leonardo-Santos of Tucson and Patricia Leonardo of Tucson; as well as grandchildren, Nathan, Marian, Sam, Emily, James, Sean, and Austin. Mr. Leonardo was a loving, generous, and jovial man who enjoyed people and had an unmatchable zest for life. He will be truly missed.Memorial donations may be made to Casa De Los Ninos.
LINCOLN, Richard Craig, 52, died March 7, 1997. Preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Lincoln in 1990. Survived by his mother, Lillian Bonnie Lincoln; aunt, Lila B. Brown; uncle, Wendall C. Brown; cousin, Larry M. Brown; lifetime friends, Larry and Jean Blackketter of Phoenix and his namesake, Craig Blackketter. Also survived by many, many, caring good friends. Craig was born in Tucson and attended Amphitheater Grade School, Tanque Verde Jr. High, Catalina High and the University of Arizona. He was a Boy Scout, a 4-H member, member of the Epes Randolph Lodge #32 F&AM and a member of Sabbar Shrine Temple. Craig had been a Real Estate Broker and held State Contractor’s Licenses both A & B. He served seven years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was a sponsor for A.A. Craig was in beginner’s class at First Baptist Church and was baptized in 1973. A member of Operating Engineers Local #428 he worked for approximately 30 years. He was a Superintendent for NAC Construction at the time of his illness and passing. MEDINA, Jesus R. (Caboose), born April 6, 1917 and passed away March 8, 1997. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Lilia D. Medina; and daughters, Anna Marie (Albert) Mesa, Irene Campas, Aida (Remigio) Alday, Norma Medina. Also survived by grandchildren, Andrea, Maritza, and Alicia Mesa, Dyna (Paul) Sabin, Cristine and Maricela Campas, Cecelia, Kathleen, and Eric Alday, and Ian Medina, whom he cherished as his only 'son'. O’BRIEN, Michael H., 57, of Tucson, AZ, passed away March 8, 1997. Mr. O’Brien was a respected business leader in Tucson for the last 19 years as owner/operator of several east side service stations. He was a member of the Service Station Dealers of Arizona Association. He had been an extremely active member of the Sabino Canyon Little League program for a decade, organizing and hosting the State Tournament in 1989. He was a consultant to the Roosevelt Lake Task Force for two years, representing the water skiing interest. In the past three years, he had been heavily involved as a nationally rated timer, and judge for both slalom and jump. He was in the process of working on his driving rating also for the American Water Ski Association. His two sons water ski competitively. He assisted in the organization and development toward a stronger, more involved Arizona faction of the AWSA. Though not personally a skier, he worked as hard as anybody whether at the lake or at tournament. He is survived by his wife, Jan Linton O’Brien and sons, Patrick and Jack; his mother, Antoinette Mackler; sister, Sheila Wallace all of Tucson and half brother, John Mackler of Baton Rouge, LA. He was predeceased by his brother, Dennis J. O’Brien. Memorial services will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. O’BRINE, Betty J., age 70, of Tucson, died March 10, 1997. Survivors include her sisters, Dorothy DeLong, Mary (Clifford) Kephart; one brother, Dale O’Brine all of Iowa and one sister, Ruth (Bernard) Briles of Tucson and one sister-in-law, Libbie O’Brine of Green Valley. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Hattie O’Brine and one brother, Malvin O’Brine. Interment will be in Iowa at a later date. PETRANEK, Jan George, 47, of McKinleyville, CA, died March 4, 1997. Jan’s family members include his children, Christopher Dugger, Will Petranek, Anacera Petranek and Heike Petranek; and his wife, Deborah, all of McKinleyville; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tom Collazo of Tucson; his sister-in-law, Carol Standlee of Payson, AZ; and brother-in-law, Gary Lee of CA. Jan was born in Tucson and graduated from Catalina High School and the University of Arizona. For the last 13 years, Jan worked at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA, as Director of Development. Previously he was Assistant Alumni Director at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He had a lifelong love of writing and worked for the Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Citizen, Arizona Republic and the Los Angeles Times. There will be a graveside remembrance at East Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday, March 11, at 3:00 p.m.
