LO TURCO, Giacomo (Jimmy), age 86, born in Letojanni, Sicily July 22, 1910. Died March 9, 1997 in Tucson, AZ. He was a soldier in the Italian Army during WW2. He worked for Manopolio Tobacco factory in Tripoli Libya for 11 years. He and his family came to the United States in 1951. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Antonina in 1982. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John and Sherri Lo Turco; daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Henry Fleischmann of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren, Jim and Mark Fleischmann, Brandi Lo Turco, Brooke Lo Turco, and Sayde Lo Turco. Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with Rosary at 4:30 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. (327-6341)

MCGUIRE, Helen M., 79, of Tucson, died March 5, 1997. Survived by husband, Joe; children, Pat, Dan, Mike, Tim and Gary MACE, Linda E., 52, of Tucson, went to be with the Lord Jesus on March 8, 1997. Preceded in death by parents, Orland and Billie Cannon. Survived by husband, Justin; stepmother, Juanita Cannon; children, Robert Allen and Tanya Duenas; grandchild, Rusty Allen; brothers, David, Lynn, and Glenn Cannon; and sisters, Jane Lentz, Kerry Griffith, and Kathy Borawski. A Memorial Service will be held at Abundant Life Christian Center, 300 E University Blvd, Wednesday, March 12, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. A short Graveside Service will follow at noon at Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N Oracle Rd. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the American Diabetes Association.McGuire and Karen Henry, all of Tucson; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Private services were arranged by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

MEDINA, Jesus R. (Caboose), born April 6, 1917 and passed away March 8, 1997. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Lilia D.Medina; and daughters, Anna Marie (Albert) Mesa, Irene Campas, Aida (Remigio) Alday, Norma Medina. Also survived by grandchildren, Andrea, Maritza, and Alicia Mesa, Dyna (Paul) Sabin, Cristine and Maricela Campas, Cecelia, Kathleen, and Eric Alday, and Ian Medina, whom he cherished as his only 'son'. Beloved great-grandfather of Alberto J. Mesa-Lander, Jesus Garcia, and Marina Laturco. Also survived by brothers, Ismael and Raul Corrales; sister, Marta Rivera; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be missed by all. Mr. Medina retired in 1979 after 46 years with Pacific Fruit Express and Southern Pacific Railroad. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 1997 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. UNDERDOWN, Dorothy, 85, of Tucson, died March 6, 1997. Survived by Raymond (Meda) Underdown and Gary Underdown; daughter, Joann (Richard) Miller; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Owenby, all of Tucson. Preceded in death by husband of 65 years, Lee Underdown. Lifetime resident of Arizona and resident of Tucson since 1945 and co-owner along with husband of Central Alarm for 51 years. BRAY, Victoria V., 93, of Tucson, an Arizona native, died March 6, 1997. Survived by her son, Frank V. (Renee) Bray, Jr.; daughters, Estella B. (Art) Velasquez, Delia V. (Jack) Romero, Helen B. (Edward) Contreras, all of Tucson; sisters, Emelia Soqui of Tucson, Clara Jimenez of Florence, Virginia Valdez of Phoenix; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank V. Bray, Sr. in 1992. Mass offered Monday, 11:00 a.m., Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. Angelo Mastria, O. Carm. Interment Holy Hope Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m with Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

ELGIN, Margaret Reed Crawford, 82, died in Tucson on March 7, 1997. She was born June 4, 1914 in Kahoka, MO to Leon Baker Crawford and Jennie Lynn Reed Crawford. She married Woodrow L. Elgin on July 10, 1938 in La Plata, MO. They lived in Jefferson City, MO, Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO before returning to Tucson in 1979. She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, attend Park College and graduated from Kirksville State Teacher’s College, all in Missouri. She taught in Chillicothe public schools and for 25 years in Park Hill School District. She was a member of Park Hill Christian Church, a life member of the National Parent Teacher Association, a 17 year volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital, an honorary life member of Carondelet St. Mary’s Auxiliary, a member of the New England Historic and Bureau County Genealogical Societies and the Knitting Guild of America. She knitted for the Warm The Baby Project in Millers Falls, MA and the Reach Out Project in Tucson. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, John Milton Crawford. Survived by husband, Woodrow L. Elgin; daughter, Lynn Elgin Brown-Quick; son, William Russ Elgin; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Roden and Elizabeth Ann Bell; great-grandchildren, Sara Lynn, Wade Allen Roden and Robert Daniel Bell; sister-in-law, Leigh Crawford and nieces and nephew, Sally Crawford Morgan, Sandra Crawford Wilcoxson and John B. Crawford. Memorial Service will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY. She will be buried in La Plata, MO. FRAHM, Yvonne D., 75, died March 5, 1997 after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her husband of 53 years, Oscar C. Frahm; son, Eric C. (Carol) Frahm; grandchildren, Patrick, Nicole and Bailey, all of Tucson; sister, Helen (Franklin) Frayer of Bellevue, MI; sister-in-law, Norma Hey of Lansing, MI. Recently preceded in death by brother, Denny Hey. Mrs. Frahm retired in 1983 after 20 years of employment with U.S. Department of Agriculture. She was then a volunteer for Northwest Hospital for 11 years, until 1996. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Desert Life Nursing Staff and the Hospice Nursing Staff. Memorial service, Sunday, March 9, 1997, 1:00 p.m. at the family’s residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arizona Cancer Research Center, 1501 N. KITT, Lucille, of Tucson, Arizona, died March 6, 1997. Preceded in death by her husband, William on April 25, 1988. Survivors include: sons, William F. Kitt, James C. Kitt, John A. Kitt, Donald S. Kitt, Anthony T. Kitt and daughter, Renee M. Shivers; sister, Mary Mitchell; 13 grandchildren and a host of devoted relatives and friends. NASTRI, William, 82, died March 6, 1997. Survived by his wife, Celia; three sons, Ronald (Lucille), Emil (Olivia) and Robert (Barbara); grandchildren, Debra, Wayne, Lisa, Leslie, Eric, Mitchel and Gregory; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan, Blayze, Dayne, Nicholas, Rhian, Phillip, Francisco, Derek and Magdelena; one brother, Alfred and two sisters, Clara and Ida. William was a 49 year resident of Tucson employed at Hughes Aircraft as Product Development Engineer. He was instrumental in developing NASA’s Lunar Landing Craft (Surveyor), on which his name still appears, along with others on the leg of the craft. Friends may call Sunday, March 9, 1997 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. A Scripture/Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 1997 at St. Cyril’s Church, 4725 E. Pima St. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

NORZAGARAY, Jose David J., 78, of Tucson, passed away March 6, 1997.Preceded in death by wife, Guadalupe Norzagaray; sons, Richard, Alfredo, Daniel. Survived by daughters, Irma (Raul) Diaz, Yolanda (Tony) Moreno, Olga (George) Arandules, Hortensia (Angel) Esparza, Rebecca Yslava, Silvia (Gilbert) Corrales, Patsy (Richard) Caballero, Erlinda (Ricardo) Gallego, Leticia (Richard) Ochoa, Catherine (Robert) Montano; sons, David, George (Lori), Michael Norzagaray; sister, Angie (Alex) Bernal; brothers, Ricardo (Alice), Armando (Frances) Norzagaray; 69 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. SIEBECKER, Dorothy Frances, 93, of Tucson, passed away at La Canada Care Center on Thursday, March 6, 1997. She was born to Dr. William David Siebecker and Elsbeth Stocker Siebecker, both deceased, on July 16, 1903 in Wausau, WI. Dorothy moved to Tucson in 1946 to work in the University of Arizona Library as Head of the Catalog Department. She earned a BA degree at Carroll College in Waukesha, WI and a masters at the University of Michigan. She retired from the University of Arizona in 1985 after almost 40 years of service. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tucson for 50 years, a member of the University of Arizona Presidents Club, and a member of the University of Arizona Retirees Association. Survived by two nephews, William D. Siebecker, Wausau, WI and Russell E. Siebecker, Southhaven, MS. Remembrances may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85705. Burial in Wausau, WI beside her mother and father. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University Blvd at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9.

ZUIDEMA, Suzanne A., 57, of Tucson, died March 5, 1997, following a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Ronald; brother, Blair Stringfellow (Judy Johnson) of Indiana; aunt, Helen Patrick of California. Mrs. Zuidema was a former schoolteacher. No services are being held. BRECK, William D. 'Bill' 79, of Tucson, died Monday, March 3, 1997. He is survived by his children, W. Dan Breck, Carolyn Goebel, Joseph Breck; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Survived by longtime companion, Mary Voyles and her children, Tim (Jill) Cook, Arivaca and Dolly Ackerman, CA; sister, Dorothy Ewing, Arivaca; daughter, Deborah Richey, CA; son, David Ewing, MT; two grandsons. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force and Civil Air Patrol and was a member of the John P. Burns VFW Post 36 since 1960. He was president of Arizona Western Mines of Arivaca.
