RZEWUSKI, Nancy Ann, 41, of Tucson, died April 9, 1997 after a tough two year battle with cancer. Survived by husband of 17 years, Joseph W. Rzewuski; son, Anthony J. Rzewuski of Tucson; parents, William and Ellen Dattilo of Tucson; brother, Jim Dattilo of Seattle, WA; several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. HALVERSON, Rosalia, 89, went to be with our Lord, April 7, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Halverson; also preceded in death by her loving sons-in-law, Hugh B. Horne and Allen 'Ace' C. Simpson; and great-granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Horne; also three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by son, Arthur J. 'Buzz' (Anne) Halverson of Hayden Lake, Idaho; daughters, Margaret L. Horne of Puyallup, Washington and Jane E. Simpson of Tucson; grandchildren, Mark (Kathy) Halverson, Kimberly Lancaster, Heidi (Scott) Wolfe, Lois (James) Tucci, Tom (Carmen) Horne, Kathy (Larry) Delfs, Michael (Dianne) Palmer, Raelynn (Peter) Gonzales; and 18 loving great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons. Rosalia was born July 19, 1907 in Madison, Wisconsin where she attended school. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she and Arthur were married on July 10, 1928. In 1932, the Halverson’s moved to Tucson for Arthur’s health. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Church where she served as president of the mother’s club of and a member of the Alter and Rosary society. She taught C.C.D. and was a church choir member. Along with her devotion to her family and church, she was employed by Levy’s of Tucson where she held the position of Credit Manager. She was past president of Credit Women Intl. And a member of the Tucson Personnel Club. She also was employed by Jacome’s Dept. store, Korby’s Dept. Store manager and Myerson’s Department Store. She retired in 1972. Rosie was a volunteer for St. Elizabeth of Hungary Clinic, and she baked lots of goodies for her friends at Playa de Serrano and Most Holy Trinity Parish where she had been a member for 13 years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1300 N. Greasewood, Monday, April 14, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 15, 1997 at 10:30 a.m.Entombment will be held at Holy Hope Cemetery Mausoleum. KEATING, Edward L., passed away April 9, 1997 at La Posada Health Care, Green Valley. Born in Melrose, MA, February 12, 1909. Founder and first president Vermont Senior Golf Association. Founder and First President Southern Arizona Senior Golf Association. Many years activity with the USGA Green Section. He was on the Executive Board of the World’s Senior Golf Association. LEVISON, Ruth J. 'Rifka the Cartoonist' 65, passed at home on the morning of April 11, 1997 in the arms of her loving husband, Marvin. She will always be fondly remembered for her love of life and people by her husband, Marvin; her children, Jonathan, Nancy, Barbara, Jerri, Joel and especially her grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael, to whom she was not only a loving grandmother, but also a lifelong friend. Over the years she touched so many in this community, always anxious to volunteer her talents to help those around her. Despite her failing health, she found time to volunteer at Sun Sounds Studio reading for the blind, having been recognized as Best Helper of the Year. Over the years she endeared herself to her many friends at Temple Emanu-El where she eagerly volunteered her artistic talents in so many different ways in support of her congregation. Rifka the Cartoonist will live on through the artwork that meant so much to her, but more so, in the hearts and minds of her family to whom she dedicated her life. SALZMAN, Ray - There will be a memorial service for Ray E. Salzman, April 16, 1997 at 5:00 p.m., Catalina Methodist Chapel, 2700 E. Speedway, Tucson, Arizona. Ray was a prominent Interior Designer, a member of ASID and owner of Ray’s Interiors for 30 years. He also stated the Catalina Methodist Church from a barracks building on the corner of N. Country Club and E. Bellevue. Twenty five years ago he helped to found the Tucson Opera Company, now the successful Arizona Opera Company. SOUTHARD, Henry, died on April 9, 1997. Mr. Southard was retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1967. his next career was with Az. State O.S.H.A., from which he retired in 1990. He was actively involved in family life, and with many friends. He is survived by his wife, Anita; his three daughters, Debra Davila, April Bolt and Janine Southard; his grandsons, Justin and Gabriel Davila, Gareth and Zackery Turner, and sons-in-law Joseph Davila and Tom Bolt.
