RZEWUSKI, Nancy Ann, 41, of Tucson, died April 9, 1997 after a tough two year battle with cancer. Survived by husband of 17 years, Joseph W. Rzewuski; son, Anthony J. Rzewuski of Tucson; parents, William and Ellen Dattilo of Tucson; brother, Jim Dattilo of Seattle, WA; several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Nancy’s family thanks their many friends, neighbors and co-workers for their friendship and support. They also thank the staff at TMC including Hospice and the Cancer Care Center for their tender loving Care. Memorial Mass will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini, 3201 E. Presidio. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to a cancer research organization of one’s choice.

WILLIAMSON, Omega, age 91. A 44 year resident of Tucson. Passed away April 8, 1997. Survived by her daughter, Dorothy Inglee Gallagher; son, Edward (Nancy) Williamson and their three sons; granddaughters, Karen and Alice Gallagher; great-granddaughter, Allegra Powell. BLOWER, Jacquelyn (Jackie) D., 67, of Tucson, passed away April 10, 1997. Wife of Ted Blower. Memorial service, Saturday, April 12, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd & Swan, with Rev. Lew Runion officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Special Olympics would be appreciated.

BUTLER, Francis J., 61, passed away April 10, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughter, Kathy (David) Getman, Tucson, AZ; son, Michael Sturgeon Bay, WI; three grandchildren; sisters, Lynn Klapatch, Sturgeon Bay, WI, Pat (Vince) DiNatale, Las Vegas, NV, Barbara (Wil) Wyant, Kansas City, KS. Formerly a resident of Wisconsin, he has lived in Tucson for three years. Sunday, April 13th, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., friends are invited to a gathering of family and friends at 9470 E. Rosewood.

ESPY, Robert R., 81, of Tucson, died April 6, 1997. Survived by wife, Frances of Tucson; daughter, Sally Espy Bratcher of Tucson; son, William R. of KY; grandchildren, John and Todd Bratcher; great-granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Bratcher and sister-in-law, Mary Wead of Tucson. He was a member of the Mission Ostomy Club. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. with Msgr. Thomas Cahalene officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Desert Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME. FOGELBERG, Newell E., 80, passed away April 11, 1997. Survived by loving companion, Carol Porta; sons, Newell V. (Mattie) Fogelberg of Boulder, CO, Allan Fogelberg of Spearfish, SD; daughters, Joni Ross of Boulder, CO, Judy Van der Lugt of Boulder, CO and Marguerite (Brian) Akset of Ord, NE; brothers, Weymouth Fogelberg of Chandler, AZ, Dr. Earl V. Fogelberg of San Francisco, CA; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Graveside Service will be at All Faiths Memorial Park Monday, April 14, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. FORGEY, Francisca M., 88, of Tucson, AZ., died March 9, 1997. Survived by sister, Petra M. Velasquez; brother, Benito R. Mendoza; stepdaughter, Estelle Rivers of Oregon; stepson, Eugene (Arla) Forgey of Oregon. Preceded in death by husband, Marion W. Forgey. GOULD, Marjorie Helen, 79, of Tucson, died April 5, 1997. She is survived by a niece, Joanne Positano of No. York, Ontario. Mrs. Gould was preceded in death by her husband, Frank. Memorial Services will be on Thursday, April 17, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell (at River Road). Inurnment will take place at St. Philip’s in the Hills Church. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus.

HALVERSON, Rosalia, 89, went to be with our Lord, April 7, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Halverson; also preceded in death by her loving sons-in-law, Hugh B. Horne and Allen 'Ace' C. Simpson; and great-granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Horne; also three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by son, Arthur J. 'Buzz' (Anne) Halverson of Hayden Lake, Idaho; daughters, Margaret L. Horne of Puyallup, Washington and Jane E. Simpson of Tucson; grandchildren, Mark (Kathy) Halverson, Kimberly Lancaster, Heidi (Scott) Wolfe, Lois (James) Tucci, Tom (Carmen) Horne, Kathy (Larry) Delfs, Michael (Dianne) Palmer, Raelynn (Peter) Gonzales; and 18 loving great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons. Rosalia was born July 19, 1907 in Madison, Wisconsin where she attended school. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she and Arthur were married on July 10, 1928. In 1932, the Halverson’s moved to Tucson for Arthur’s health. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Church where she served as president of the mother’s club of and a member of the Alter and Rosary society. She taught C.C.D. and was a church choir member. Along with her devotion to her family and church, she was employed by Levy’s of Tucson where she held the position of Credit Manager. She was past president of Credit Women Intl. And a member of the Tucson Personnel Club. She also was employed by Jacome’s Dept. store, Korby’s Dept. Store manager and Myerson’s Department Store. She retired in 1972. Rosie was a volunteer for St. Elizabeth of Hungary Clinic, and she baked lots of goodies for her friends at Playa de Serrano and Most Holy Trinity Parish where she had been a member for 13 years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1300 N. Greasewood, Monday, April 14, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 15, 1997 at 10:30 a.m.Entombment will be held at Holy Hope Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to American Parkinson Association (APDA), 1650 E. Fort Lowell Rd. or St. Elizabeth of Hungary Clinic, 140 W. Speedway, or Ladies Club of Most Holy Trinity, 1300 N. Greasewood.

JARVA, Duane A., 55, died April 10, 1997. Husband of Vivian; father of Brian (Brandi) Jarva of Las Vegas, NV, Darlene (Michael) Gailey of Dallas, TX and Kathryn Jarva of Tucson; brother of Nancy Kumpula of Riverside, CA, Donald Jarva of Chicago, IL and Norman Jarva of Gilbert, Minn.; grandfather of Kenneth Barnes of Phoenix, Amber Gailey and Clayton Gailey both of Dallas, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive. He was president of the Finnish American Club of Tucson and a member of AIME. He was a master electrician, electrical supervisor for Asarco Mission Complex. Memorial Service, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Evangelical Covenant Church, 551 N. Camino Seco with Pastor Jeff Schirle officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

KEATING, Edward L., passed away April 9, 1997 at La Posada Health Care, Green Valley. Born in Melrose, MA, February 12, 1909. Founder and first president Vermont Senior Golf Association. Founder and First President Southern Arizona Senior Golf Association. Many years activity with the USGA Green Section. He was on the Executive Board of the World’s Senior Golf Association. Survived by wife, Hazel Keating; and ten step-children; and many grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity in the name of Edward Keating. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 14th at the Green Valley Community Church, Esperanza and La Canada.

LEGAT, Anna Caroline Emilie, age 88, died Monday, April 7th, 1997 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. A former resident of Tucson. Born November 2, 1908 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 1997 at South Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Haas of St. Mark’s Untied Methodist officiating. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

LEVISON, Ruth J. 'Rifka the Cartoonist' 65, passed at home on the morning of April 11, 1997 in the arms of her loving husband, Marvin. She will always be fondly remembered for her love of life and people by her husband, Marvin; her children, Jonathan, Nancy, Barbara, Jerri, Joel and especially her grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael, to whom she was not only a loving grandmother, but also a lifelong friend. Over the years she touched so many in this community, always anxious to volunteer her talents to help those around her. Despite her failing health, she found time to volunteer at Sun Sounds Studio reading for the blind, having been recognized as Best Helper of the Year. Over the years she endeared herself to her many friends at Temple Emanu-El where she eagerly volunteered her artistic talents in so many different ways in support of her congregation. Rifka the Cartoonist will live on through the artwork that meant so much to her, but more so, in the hearts and minds of her family to whom she dedicated her life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association. Graveside Service will be Sunday, April 13, 11:00 a.m. in the Temple Emanu-El Section of Evergreen Cemetery, with Rabbi Jeffrey Ronald of Temple Emanu-El officiating. MENA, Luis Ramon Castro, 66, died April 9, 1997. Survived by son, Luis Gustavo (Sonia) Mena of Tucson; brothers, Alejandro C. Mena, Estela C. Mena and Miguel C. Mena all of Obregon, Sonora, Mexico; granddaughters, Basiles and Marilia Mena. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 1997 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 14 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Avenue. Burial in Holy Hope Cemetery. QUIHUIS, SOFIA, 87, of Tucson, passed away April 10, 1997. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Refugio Quihuis; son, Joe Quihuis and grandson, Dereck Quihuis. Survived by daughter, Dora (Alex) Garcia of Phoenix; daughter-in-law, Linda Quihuis; sons, Ramon (Toni), Refugio (Concepcion), Adolfo (Marie Helen), Oscar (Becky), Bill, Albert (Penny) Quihuis, Larry Underwood; 29 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren. Family would like to give a special thanks to Dora Castelo. Also Carl Foster, RN and Linda Schleicher, RN from the Carondelet Hospice Program. SALZMAN, Ray - There will be a memorial service for Ray E. Salzman, April 16, 1997 at 5:00 p.m., Catalina Methodist Chapel, 2700 E. Speedway, Tucson, Arizona. Ray was a prominent Interior Designer, a member of ASID and owner of Ray’s Interiors for 30 years. He also stated the Catalina Methodist Church from a barracks building on the corner of N. Country Club and E. Bellevue. Twenty five years ago he helped to found the Tucson Opera Company, now the successful Arizona Opera Company. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Arizona Opera Endowment, 3501 N. Mountain, Tucson, Arizona, 85719. Ray is survived by his wife, Martha (Marty); daughter, Janet Baron (Ken) of Vashon, Washington and JoAnne Briggs (Greg) of Tucson; and brothers, William and Robert of Illinois and Joseph of Tucson. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

SOUTHARD, Henry, died on April 9, 1997. Mr. Southard was retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1967. his next career was with Az. State O.S.H.A., from which he retired in 1990. He was actively involved in family life, and with many friends. He is survived by his wife, Anita; his three daughters, Debra Davila, April Bolt and Janine Southard; his grandsons, Justin and Gabriel Davila, Gareth and Zackery Turner, and sons-in-law Joseph Davila and Tom Bolt. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles and George, and their families and his sister Rose and her family. Service is at 10:00 a.m. April 14 at D-M Chapel #1. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Society, Lung Assn.or Carondelet Hospice.

BRIDGES, Hoyt, 82, of Oro Valley, died April 11, 1997. Survived by his son, Donny G. (Barbara) Bridges of Oro Valley; daughter, Peggy (DeWayne) Graham of Tucson; sister, Louise Clark of Tucson; brothers, Alfred Bridges and Dick Bridges, both of Arkadelphia, AR; six granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and large extended family. Predeceased by his wife, Blondell Bridges on March 10, 1984. Graveside Service, Monday, 10:00 a.m., Evergreen Cemetery, Rev. Jerry Haas, Pastor of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, officiating. GOETZ, Carol C., age 56, a lifetime resident of Tucson, passed away April 13, 1997. Born March 21, 1941 in Tucson. Mrs. Goetz worked for Victim Witness and was involved with Little League Baseball and Tucson Youth Football (TYF) at Reid Park. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Charles B. Goetz; sons, Charles (Margo), Jeff Dean, Kenny, and James (Michelle) Goetz; four grandchildren, Michael, Amy, Aaron, and Tyler. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 15, 1997 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. 'A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. You were always there for all of us. We love and miss you.'
