Our beloved mother, Amelia, passed away May 29, 1997. Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Julian R. Rigoli. Survived by daughters, Margaret (Don) Lander and Gloria (Jack) Ellison; sons, Gus (Maria Elena), Ernest (Julia) and Albert (Grace) Rigoli; sister, Lupe Ramos. TUTALO, Rita May, 65, of Tucson, passed away May 26, 1997 at home after a courageous battle with cervical cancer. She was a dedicated employee of the Robinson-May Corporation. She will be missed by her family and friends in Arizona and New Jersey. She is survived by Scott, Judy, Max and Jack Tutalo of Tucson, Mark Tutalo of Bremerton, WA, Pete and Gertie Froelich of Glendale and very special companions Bill Grove and Dusty. HART, William 'Bill', 90, of Hayden, passed away May 26, 1997 in Tucson. He was born January 6, 1907 in Torrance, CA. He came to Arizona in 1932 and has lived in the Hayden area since 1936. He worked for ASARCO, he was the Sampling Foreman when he retired in 1972. He had been a member of the Elks and served with the U.S. Marines in China from 1923 to 1927. Survivors include his wife, Carmelita C. Hart of Hayden; son, William Hart of California and daughter, Rita Higgins of Ohio; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the LDS Church, 200 Hammond Dr., Kearny, AZ. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Hayden. Arrangements by Griffith Mortuary.

MCCLELLAN, Joseph L., Major U.S. Air Force, Ret., 80, died May 28, 1997. Born August 4, 1916. He is survived by his wife, Jean and son, Michael (Denise) of Gilbert and grandchildren, Meghan, Kaitlin and Andy McClellan. Joe learned to fly while at USC and later was a pilot in the Air Force for 27 years. Per his request there will be no Funeral Service. ROSS, Nina M., female, 73, was born May 10, 1924. She was born in Geneva, IL. She lived in Arizona for 43 years and was employed at Fort Huachuca, AZ and at ASU College of Nursing. Mrs. Ross was a member of the Elks Lodge in Mesa and was very active at All Saints Catholic Church. Mrs. Ross passed away Monday, May 26, 1997 at Mesa Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, AZ. Her survivors include daughters, Sandra Simmons and Barbara Ross; sisters, Peggy Smith and Phyllis Weaver; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions to: American Heart Association, P.O. Box 7038, Mesa, AZ. There will be a Memorial Mass held at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Rd., in Mesa on June 16, 1997 at 10:00 a.m.
SERFACE, Victor, the most wonderful father and friend, who will be missed very much, passed away Sunday, May 25, 1997. Survived by eldest daughter, Jackie, son Victor and youngest daughter Cindy. WIZA, Lucille 'Lucy', born November 18, 1910, died May 20, 1997. In loving memory of the woman who gave us life and as her children we loved her, cared for her and appreciated her for who she was and how she so cared for others. She was taken to be with God in a peaceful way to meet with others she loved that left before her. Lucy enjoyed her life, her work and her family. She loved the opportunity to share in new experiences that took her to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and most recently to live in Tucson, AZ in her final time on earth. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her, especially her daughter, Elli (Mark) Leclair and grandchildren, Matt and Beth with whom she lived, as well as other daughter, Dolores (Norbert) Grabko; sons, Glen (Della) and Mel (Jeanette) and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; grandson, Dennis and daughter, Rita; along with numerous brothers and sisters. Donations may be made to Hospice of choice. BATEMAN, Herman Edward, 80, died May 23, 1997, of Alzheimer’s disease. Born May 27, 1916 in El Paso, TX, he is survived by his daughter, Ann Justison of Oakland, CA and his son, Thomas of Flagstaff, AZ; wife, Arline of Tucson and grandchildren, Patrick, Kathleen and Elizabeth Justison and Tiffany and Wally Bateman. He was predeceased by his wife, June Fantz. 'Pete' was a professor of history at the University of Arizona for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1980, and served as associate dean of the Graduate School. He was a graduate of San Jose State, 1937, earned a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1939 and a Ph.D in history from Stanford University in 1953. During World War II he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the Department of History, University of Arizona. BINGHAM, Vern Elsworth, 81 year resident of Tucson, was born February 12, 1916 in Raton, NM. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Bingham; son, John L. (Connie) Bingham; granddaughters, Genoa and Joette; brother, Roy Bingham (Patty) of Missoula, MT. Mr. Bingham was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad and worked for 44 years as an engineer. He attended the University of Arizona where he was a member of Sigma Chi and played freshman football in 1935. Mr. Bingham was also a member of Elks Lodge #2532. CAIN, Kenneth G., 19, passed away May 21, 1997. Though in our presence a short time, he will be in our hearts forever.
CANNON, Jerry M., born August 18, 1932 in Fayetteville, TN, passed away May 25, 1997 in Tucson. He prevailed as a vital, independent man for many years through a courageous battle with cancer, until his peaceful and dignified death. He traveled and lived all over the U.S. and overseas during his career as an aeronautics engineer, until his retirement from Litton in 1988. Jerry is survived by family and friends worldwide, including his wife of 39 years, Jeanne; his mother, Lela Cannon; sister, Peggy Smith, both of Fayetteville, TN; his daughters, Debra (Jordan Gussin) of Seattle, WA, Deanna Cannon (Tim Spencer) of Sacramento, CA; his grandchildren, Stephen, Zachary, Emily and Rachel; a large and caring extended family of brother and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and his faithful dog, Archie. Jerry was known by all for his wide range of technical and mechanical expertise and generous advice, as well as being an avid fisherman and hunter, loving husband, father and grandfather, loyal friend, and frequent champion of the underdog against corruption and injustice. CARSON, Bianca Enrica, loving wife and mother, born September 22, 1933, left us to be with the angels, May 26, 1997. Bianca now watches over her spouse and partner James Carson; her son, Michael Carson; her daughter, Karen (Ron) Tietje, Christine Carson and Jamie (Ron) Albers; her granddaughters, Jennifer Leigh Sloan, Alexandria Amanda Albers and Jordan Lee Albers; her mother, Edith Salasovitz; and her sister, Wilma Salasovitz. A private service will held at Green Valley Mortuary.
