GOODWIN, William Charles, age 81, of Green Valley, AZ, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, May 19, 1997. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret. Former owner of Dealers Manufacturing Co., served on board of directors for Camden Norwest Bank and Employers Association of Minnesota. Survived by children, Nancy Farina of Tucson, AZ, David and Suzanne Goodwin of Deephaven, MN, Julie and Steve Lawton of Colorado Springs, CO, Scott and Tracy Goodwin of St. Louis Park, MN; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was a gentle, kind, devoted and loving husband, father, grampa and friend. We’ll miss you Dad! Memorial Service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 1997 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1300 St. David’s Road, Minnetonka, MN. GREENE, Frances M. (Mary), 82, died May 24, 1997. Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William A. Greene. Survived by daughter, Della (Donald) Leverenz of Tucson; grandchildren, Teresa (Brian) Eglinton, Karen (Donald) Reinhold, William (E. Sue), Michael, Susan (William) Shader, Donna, Kristen (Lawrence) Strasser; sister, Berchie Winn; six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Service, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Interment to follow at Desert Vista Cemetery. LENARDON, Ettore Luigi, 70, died May 24, 1997. Husband of Alice Lenardon; father of Gina (Michael) Shumsky of Scottsdale, AZ, Lisa (Phillip) Stough of Tempe, AZ and Carla Lenardon of Tucson. Brother of Anita Benvenuti of OH. Also survived by four grandchildren. Mr. Lenardon owned and operated Lenco Heating and Cooling Company. He was a life member of the B.P.O. Elks lodge and served in the Navy during WWII. A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft. A Memorial Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mr. Lenardon’s name to Casa De Los Ninos, 1101 N. 4th Ave., Tucson, AZ 85705.

TRUJILLO, Sam L., born December 4, 1942, died May 22, 1997. Survived by children, Chris (Robert) Aguilar, Dennis (Lorraine)Trujillo, Stephanie (Walter) Olivas and Jeremy (Natasha) Trujillo. He is survived by nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Memorial Services were held, Friday, May 23.

ZIMMT, Marianne (nee Sheuer), born December 1925, died May 22, 1997, to the devastation of her family. Wife of Werner S. Zimmt; mother of Stephanie Zimmt-Mack, Barbara Zimmt and Matthew Zimmt; grandmother of six loving grandchildren. Her leaving has created a bottomless void. The stars in the heavens are duller and earth is a poorer place for it. The family requests that no flowers be sent. BIENIECKI, Kathryn Constance, 37, of Tucson, born August 26, 1959, passed away May 18, 1997. Survived by husband, Christopher Dennis Bieniecki (Jay Cee); stepson, Christopher Jr.; daughters, Heather, Erika, Sarah and Jena; brothers, John Roads and David Roads; father, John Melvin Roads; preceded in death by mother, Christine Louise Nesby Roads. Service will be held Sunday, May 25, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at Freedom Park, conducted by Pastor Dean.

GINTHER, Nancy Grace, 72, died May 20, after a brief illness. She was born October 22, 1924 in Detroit, MI. Preceded in death by her husbands, W. J. Adamson and James Ginther; daughter, Pamela Adamson. Nancy is survived by seven of her eight children, Ronald, Susan, Nancy, and Cynthia Adamson of Tucson, AZ, Amy Katzenmeyer of Tucson, AZ, William Adamson of Fort Ann, NY and Patrick Adamson of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Nancy is formerly of Akron, OH, where she raised her children and worked in the health care profession. No services will be held, but her family will receive visitors on Sunday, May 25, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. at Ronald’s residence, 333 S. Alvernon, Unit 63. Arrangements by Heather Mortuary.

PARNES, Jeannette, August 27, 1908 – May 20, 1997. Survived by cousins, Leonard and Ann of FL and numerous relations in the U.S., England, Canada and Israel. Preceded in death by brother, Herbert and sister, Clara and sister, Helen Offen. Will be lovingly remembered by old friends from Tucson, San Diego and new friends at Broadway Proper. A committed volunteer to the Food Bank. Her caring, compassionate and generous personality will be greatly missed by all whose lives were touched by her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Food Bank of Tucson would be appreciated. A Celebration of life will be held at Broadway Proper, 400 S. Broadway Pl., Saturday, May 24, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

SCOTT, Edith Georgia, 74, of Tucson, died May 22, 1997. Survived by her daughter, Elizabeth S. (Bradley) Quayle of Rancho Mirage, CA; sons, Mark Von Scott, Robert A. Scott, both of Tucson; stepson, John (Carolyn) Scott of Tucson; stepdaughter, Margaret (John) Puster of OR; grandchildren Lauren Quayle, Tracey Quayle, Ryan Scott, Chablis Scott, Roger Scott, Levi Scott; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two step-great-grandchildren; brother, Laurence (Pat) West of Hemet, CA; sisters, Helen West and Mildred Eaton, both of Seattle, WA; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Roy W. Scott on May 17, 1992. Due to her husband Scotty’s work, they traveled the world and lived in many exotic locals. Mrs. Scott really enjoyed life. Service Saturday 4:30 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile, with Rev. Edward L. Eddy officiating. Friends may call from 3:30 p.m. till time of service.

TRAVIS, Joan M., 63, passed on May 9, 1997. She will be sadly missed by her husband Frederick W. Travis; sons, Fred Travis, Jr., George F. Travis; daughters, Beverly Ann Long, JoAnn Langley, Debra Ann Davis and Cynthia Ann Travis. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her mother, Pearl Lockwood and sister Jane Ehrhardt reside in Tucson.

VANKIRK, Sidney M., 88, died May 22, 1997. Husband of Jane VanKirk.

FRITSCHY, Ida E., 97, of Westridge Rd., Carlsbad, NM, passed away Friday, May 9, 1997, at Landsun Health Service Center, Carlsbad. Survivors, three sons, J. Melvin Fritschy of Carlsbad, NM, Hugh H. Fritschy of Ceres, CA, Donald W. Fritschy of Tucson; one sister, Gladys Gerritsen of Petaluma, CA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Ida E. Fritschy was born November 26, 1899 in Fallon, NV, to Frank Renaldo and Emma K. Cambridge Williams. She moved to Tucson in 1918 and worked as a telegraph operator for the Southern Pacific Railroad. She met the late John M. Fritschy, a locomotive engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad. They were married September 17, 1919 in Santa Clara, CA. In 1985 she moved to Carlsbad and had resided at Landsun Homes since then. She was a homemaker. She had been an active member for many years of the First Church Scientist and a 75 year member of Eastern Star of Tucson. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 24, 1997, 10:00 a.m., at ARIZONA MORTUARY, Tucson, AZ, with Reader Paul Hanover of First Church of Christ Scientist officiating. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

KELEMEN, Joseph F., 77, of Tucson, died May 20, 1997. Born February 1, 1920 in St. Louis, MO. Survived by his wife, of 50 years, Helen; daughters Carol Mercer of California; son, Richard Kelemen of Tucson; daughter, Kathy Foltz of Tucson. Also survived by grandchildren, Diane, Michele, Kristina, Darick, Steven and Samantha; and one brother, Emil of MO. In World War II, he served in the Army as a medic in the Pacific Front for four years, after serving for his country, he married Helen Hussar. They moved to Tucson and started Hussar Electric Supply with his father-in-law, William. Joe and Helen bought the company in 1965 and ran a successful business until Joseph’s health failed in 1992. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus in the 4th Degree. He contributed a lot to the community through the Church and through the community. He was the man of the year in 1988 for his contribution to the Electric Industry. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, on May 23, 1997 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral will be at St. Francis de Sales, May 24, 1997, at 9:00 a.m. with Fr. Cloud officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Hope. Memorial donations may be made to Kidney or Arthritis Foundation in Joseph’s name. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

SCHAFER, Willard R., died May 17, 1997, age 85, preceded in death by three sons, Richard, Calvin and Michael. Devoted husband for 56 years to Lela Marie; father of Barbara, Gary (Sharry), Lewis, Donna, Robert (Eldrid); 32 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service May 27, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by Tennant Funeral Home, Haxtun, CO.

BERKEY, Foster T., 81, U.S.A.F. retired, died May 20, 1997. Survived by stepson, Wilbur (Carol) Bushong; grandchildren, David and Rita Bushong. Mr. Berkey was a veteran of World War II and Korean War. A life member of V.F.W. Catalina Post #4903. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 1997 with full military honors by D.M. BRODIGAN, Richard J., 70, of Tucson, died May 20, 1997. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Rita; loving father of two daughters, Kerry (Joe) Kopecky, April (Scott) Gabriel, and four grandsons, Shane, Ricky, Austin, and Victor. Friends may call at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY Friday, May 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church, Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

BUNKER, Judith Ann, 60, died May 20, 1997. Mother of Julie Bunker, Michael (Dawn) Bunker and Patrick (Teresa) Bunker, all of Tucson; sister of Dr. R. F. Twenter of MA; grandmother of Josh, Chelsea and Amy; great-niece of Rose Gerlach of KA; special friends, David Bunker, Linda Fousse, Linda Parks, Nancy Moore and Jane Ourand also survive. GRADILLAS, Delfina H., 79, of Tucson, passed away May 20, 1997. Preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Gradillas; daughters, Olga and John Corella, Connie and Johnny Figueroa, Margie and Fred Machado, Mary Helen Villafane; sons, Tony and Joanna Gradillas, Manuel and Carmen Gradillas; two surviving nephews, George and Jaime Hernandez; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday May 23, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, North Chapel, 204 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Saturday, May 24, 1997 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 South Stone Ave. Internment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. HARTMAN, Carl William, 87, a resident of Tucson for 61 years, died May 19, 1997. Survived by wife, Lorene Hartman of Tucson; sister, Ann Gibson and niece, Joyce Gibson Roach, both of Keller, TX; nephew, Harrell Lee Hartman of Inchelium, WA. Mr. Hartman came from Texas to Tucson in 1935 as a nurse at Methodist hospital and sanitorium. From there he went to Pima County hospital where he trained as an X-ray technician and eventually supervised the department until his retirement. He was an amateur geologist, hunter, fisherman, hiker and a man of the desert at home in the world. Funeral Service, 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., with Mrs. Joyce Gibson Roach officiating. Interment is at Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas, TX. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to the Service. Remembrances may be made to the Arizona Historical Society.

MARTIN, Mary A., 77, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ 20 May 1997. Survived by husband, Glen; son, Eddie (Ida) Golden; daughter Mary 'Ginger' (Ron) Duncan. Three grandchildren, Scott and Nancy Golden, James Duncan. The family requests donations to A.L.S. Association, Southern Az. Chapter, P.O. Box 85595, Tucson, AZ 85754, in memory of Mary. The family wishes to thank Hospice Family Care, Inc. employees and volunteers for their tender and loving care during Mary’s illness. No services are planned.

MUSINGER, Mary Elizabeth, 80, died May 21, 1997. Survived by brothers, Walter F.Davis of Chicago, IL and James D. Davis of Tucson; sister, Lucille M. Potts of Tucson; 11 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Harry; sister, Lillian M. Lahr; brothers, Harold, Joseph, Earl and Richard Davis. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 1997 at St. Cyril’s Church, 4725 E. Pima. Inurnment at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery at a later date.
