DILTS, Jacquelynn M., age 48, a 47 year resident of Arizona, passed away April 26, 1997 in Rocky Point, Mexico. Born September 22, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana.Survived by her husband, of three and a half years, Melvin R. Dilts; parents, Marcus and Mildred Morgan; brothers, Mark, Jerry and Gordon Morgan; faithful companion, Heidi. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 2, 1997 at St. Marks Presbyterian Church, 3809 E. 3rd St. Dr. David Sholin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jacquelynn’s memory to the Humane Society, World Wildlife Fund or any animal rescue organization.

ENDERLE, Victoria Faye, 42, died April 29, 1997. Survived by her children, Crystal Faye Enderle and Clint Owens Enderle; mother, Donna Westenburg; sister, Leah D. Hendrix; in-laws, Wallace and Marge Enderle; and a host of friends. Memorial Services will be held, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 1997 at the New Life Wesleyan Christian Center, 8900 E. Golf Links Rd. GALLEGOS, Adeline C., 72, of Tucson, passed away April 28, 1997. Preceded in death by Consuelo De La Garza. Survived by mother, Francisca Cordova; daughter, Helen Gallegos; sons, Edward (Ruth) and Xavier (Nora); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. We’ll miss you very much. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (Center Chapel), 204 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Thursday, May 1, 1997 at 12:00 noon at St. Ambrose Church. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. KING, William W., CWO, USA Ret., 78, died April 30, 1997 after a long illness. Born April 13, 1919 at Marcus, Iowa. Graduated from Meriden High School in Iowa June 1937. His first wife Emma Jean (Salley) King preceded him in death. Was married to Mary T. (Kehoe) King November 1, 1980. Survived by sisters, Dorothy Ryan, Lucille King and Minerva Fair; brother, Charles King; and dear companion, 'Mitzie' his dog. Enlisted in the US Army June 4, 1940. Served overseas in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Was discharged as a M/Sgt. April of 1951 to accept appointment as a WARRANT OFFICER JR. GRADE. Served in Korea from October 1951 until August 1952. Served overseas again with the American Military Assistance Staff in Yugoslavia from October 1955 to September 1957. Retired as a CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER on June 30, 1960. Owned and operated a summer resort (Kings Rendevou) on Big Round Lake, Hayward, WI. While at Hayward served as Commander, Hayward Musky Post, VFW, on Board of Directors, Hayward Lakes Resort Assoc. Moved to Tucson, AZ in May 1969. Was a member of the Retired Officers Assoc., Tucson Chapter of the Military Order of World Wars, Tucson East Lodge #2532 BPO. Visitation 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 1997 at DMAFB Chapel 2 with Father James Coleman officiating.

LABORIN, Margaret H., 61, died April 29, 1997. Wife of Tony C. Laborin; mother of Gilbert Soto, Olivia (Fernando) Benitez, Antonio (Luz) Laborin, Lupita (Henry) Altamirano, Carlos Laborin, Alice (Ismael) Felix and Barbara Laborin; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. MARTIN, Robert Charles, 41, died April 26, 1997. Survived by his parents, Robert A. and Nieves Martin; sisters, Gail Martin, Jeanette Martin and Beverly Whitten; his fiance, Jackie Taylor and her children, Walter and Eli Taylor; nieces, Traci Cole, Erin and Jennifer Kendall and Marisa Martin; and his loving pets. RAMSEY, Zana Mae, 68, of Tucson, passed April 27, 1997. Survived by daughter, Cherry Van Dyke; sons, Jack and Jim Ramsey; grandson, Shawn Van Dyke, all of Tucson; sister, Mary Schone of St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Ramsey will be best remembered as 'Mom' at Jack Ramsey Garage, where she worked with her husband, Jack Ramsey, who preceded her in death. SAWIN, Kenneth Lee, age 54, of Lockhart, passed away at Seton Hospital, Austin, Texan, Monday, April 28, 1997. He was born in Bellevue, Ohio on January 18, 1943 to Lee Kenneth and Mary Catherine Sylvester Sawin and married Carol Williams on June 12, 1964 in Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Bellevue High School, Bellevue, Ohio in 1961, received a Bachelors of Science in 1966 from Northern Arizona University and Master of Science in 1974 from Northern Arizona University. Ken’s professional experience include NFL Football Scout, Personnel Director for Canyon ISD, Instructor, Assistant Football Coach, Assistant and Interim Athletic Director at West Texas State in Canyon, Assistant Football Coach at University Texas, El Paso, Texas, Instructor-Head Football Coach, Eastern Arizona College, Thatcher, AZ, Head Football Coach and Government Teacher at Douglas High School, Douglas, AZ, Assistant Football Coach at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ, Assistant Football Coach and Head Track Coach and History Teacher, Marana High School, Marana, AZ, Assistant Football Coach at St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, AZ. Awards and honors include: Douglas, Arizona’s 1975 JC’s Outstanding Young Educator, Arizona All Star Game Coach as an assistant and head football coach, two State Championships, two State Runner-ups and one State Semi-Finalist, as a head track coach-one State Championship. He was Principal at the Boys Ranch High School, Boys Ranch, TX from 1989 to 1993 and the Principal at Lockhart High School, 1993 until present. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carol Williams Sawin of Lockhart; two sons, Joe Sawin and wife, Sonya of Austin, Clint Williams Sawin of West Hollywood, CA; one daughter, Kodi Elizabeth Sawin of Austin; one brother, Dean Sawin and wife, Cathy of Fort Collins, CO and their children, Brice Sawin and Josh Sawin; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Hartman, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sawin and Mrs. Betty Chamberlain; cousins, Michael Sawin, Sherry Sawin, Penny Sylvester, Barry Sylvester, Jeff Cornell, Gary Cornell, Gene Hartman, George Sylvester and Geralyn Brett; mother and father-in-law, Marvin and Lila Williams of Griffin, GA; three brothers-in-law, Bruce Williams and wife Susan, Scott Williams and wife Sandi and Rudy Contreras; three nieces; two nephews and many other relatives, friends, students and loved ones. Wake Services will be Thursday, May 1, 1997 at 8:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart. Funeral Service will be Friday, May 2, 1997 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lockhart. Private Burial Services are to be held in Arizona. Box 600, Lockhart, TX 78644 for the Lockhart High School Top Ten Scholastic Scholarship and Cal Farley Boys Ranch. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at Seton Critical Care Unit, Lockhart EMS and Central Texas Medical Center and Dr. Laurence for the wonderful and loving care given to Ken and to his family during his brief but valiant struggle. BRADLEY, James, 58, of Tucson, died April 28, 1997. Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Christopher, Daniel, Linney, James (Pete); two grandchildren; his loving mother, Jean Bradley; plus many loving relatives and friends. Jim’s personal and private accomplishments have been an inspiration to all of us. He will be missed. Preceded in death by parents, Otis and Essie Shaw; brothers, Francis P. Shaw and Robin Shaw; and sister, Sonja Shaw. COWLEY, William 'Bill', 44, died of cancer April 27, 1997. Preceded in death by parents, Alice (Mejia) and Bill Cowley, Sr. Survived by wife, Lucas; children, Brian, Kathryn and Matthew; special cousins, Thurman Brooks, Thelma Leon and Frances Cota-Robles. Bill was a loving family man and a great friend with a passion for life. A special thanks to the staff of TMC Hospice for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the TMC Hospice. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at St. Margaret’s Church, 801 N. Grande Ave.

DODSON, Karen, age 49, died at home surrounded by loving family and friends on Saturday, April 26, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Bob Dodson of Tucson; her son, Rodney (Bert) Meek; and daughter, Karleen Meek of Tucson; daughter, JoAnn (Frank) Hass of Albuquerque; twin sister, Karla Briggs of Tucson; brother, Barry (Malinda) Briggs of Tucson; granddaughter, Rachael Meek; and niece, Lauren Briggs of Tucson; and grandchildren, Daphne, Nathaniel, Kurtis, Rochelle, Jacob and Janelle Hass of Albuquerque. GANNON, Marie, former Tucson resident, passed away April 28, 1997. Marie moved to Tucson from Bogota, NY in 1963 and then to Prescott in 1992 to live with her daughter Lily. Survived by daughters, Lily Gannon of Prescott, AZ and Marie Ribbens of Mesa, AZ; and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, John in 1988. Mrs. Gannon was employed in Tucson by Lillie Rubin Couturiers as a seamstress, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott and Tucson, Tucson Moose Club and the Women’s Council. GARLAND, Jessie Johnsen, 92, of Tucson, died April 28, 1997. Survived by her son, Fred A. Johnsen of Alhambra, CA; her daughter, Joyce Helen (Joseph) Yeomans of Marana; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Garland on January 30, 1987. GASKINS, Frank H., 85, of Tucson, died April 25, 1997. Preceded in death by wives, Bernice Gaskins and Ruby Gaskins. GROSS, Victor L., passed away the evening of April 25, 1997 at the age of 90. His survivors include his wife, Kay D. Gross; daughters, Jeanne A. Sweet of Tempe, AZ and Joanne (Jody) A. Mauler of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Suzann Weaver, Houston, TX, Cathleen Reagen, Tempe, AZ, Charles Sweet, LaSalle, CO, Jeffery Fratt, Phoenix, AZ, Amy Jo Greene, Tucson, AZ; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
