MOYZA, Alyce Ruth, age 59, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully on April 26, 1997. Alyce’s life was dedicated to bringing happiness and love to her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Armando, Sr.; daughters, Fran, Olga, Anna; sons, Armando Jr. and Gilbert; her son-in-law, Michael; sister and brother-in-law, Olga and Jesus Aguilar; brother, Chris Quezada; beloved grandchildren, Christen, Adrianne, Jennifer, Raymond, Andrew, Sarah, William, Natalie, Katie and Rebekah; her nieces, Julie (Bob) and Cecilia; her nephew, Lenny (Nadine), Patsy and Diane (Martin); her special surrogate daughter and son, Susie and John, Rae Leanne and Trevor; great aunt, Julia Peralta; and her cousins, Angie and Dick Yrigoyen, Joanne, Diane, Jackie, Pam, Roberto, Debbie, Sandy, Mickey, Arnold, Armando (Racheal), Virgie, Sister Gloria, Eleanor (John), Chuck (Lydia), Darlene (Fernando), Carlos, Eddie and Annie; and her special friend and helper, Alex. Alyce worked in the banking industry for more than 33 years. Upon graduating from Salpointe High School, Alyce worked for Southern Arizona Bank and subsequently Valley National Bank where she made many life-long friends. Alyce positively affected the lives of many. For those who knew her, she was always happy, had an infectious smile and would make everyone laugh. She lent a helping hand to anyone who would ask. She will be dearly missed by all.
A Rosary will be held at Santa Cruz Church on Thursday, May 1 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass also at Santa Cruz Church will be held on Friday, May 2 at 9:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Tubac Cemetery directly after the Mass.

WALSH, Nicolas E., Most Rev., Bishop Emeritus of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Yakima, Wash., died Monday, April 21, 1997 in Tucson at the age of 80. In addition to his service to the Church as a bishop, he was a Catholic newspaper editor, missionary and specialist in Mexican-American relations. Bishop Walsh had made southern Arizona his home since 1987. Although periodically weakened by illness in past years, Bishop Walsh remained active until his last days. 'He was a friend who gave so much of himself to our church, ' said Most Rev. Manuel D. Moreno, Bishop of Tucson. 'As a brother bishop, even in retirement, he was a great help to me in administrating the sacrament of confirmation in our large diocese. Just three weeks ago he drove more than 600 miles to two parishes for confirmations. He also assisted many parishes and made many friends at the numerous retreats and spiritual conferences he led, ' said Bishop Moreno. A native of Burnsville, Minn., Bishop Walsh was a graduate of St. Paul Major Seminary in St. Paul, Minn. He was ordained a priest in 1942 for the Diocese of Boise, Idaho, where in 1953 he founded and was the first editor of the Idaho Register, newspaper of the Boise Diocese. In the early 1970s he served as a missionary in Cali, Columbia, where he contracted malaria which years later sometimes would curtail his activities. He was appointed Bishop of Yakima in 1974, where he served until 1976 when he was appointed as auxiliary bishop of Seattle. He retired in 1983 for health reasons, principally recurring malaria. A Memorial Mass will be concelebrated by Bishop Moreno and priests of the Diocese of Tucson on Wednesday, April 30, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Cathedral. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3, at St. John’s Cathedral in Boise, Idaho. Burial will beat Ascension Priory Cemetery in Jerome, Idaho.

WILSON, John Thomas, age 65, passed away on April 27, 1997 at home. John was a Tucson resident for 17 years and retired from Southwest Gas Corp. after 31 years of service. YENCARELLI, James Bruno, age 60, a 23 year resident of Tucson, passed away April 27, 1997. Born November 12, 1936 in Long Branch, New Jersey. Mr. Yencarelli retired from Hughes Aircraft. He served four years with the U.S. Air Force. Involved with T.Y.F., Ft. Lowell Soccer, Frontier Little League and was president of Southwest Bible Camp in New Mexico. Survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Dorothy; son, James (Kimberley) Yencarelli; daughter, Holly (Chris) Marcott; granddaughter, Sarah Yencarelli; mother, Jeanette Yencarelli; brothers, Thomas (Terea) and Michael (Jackie ) Yencarelli. ZELLE, Angelique Doris, age 50, a vibrant, earth loving Healer, Herbalist and Teacher crossed the veil to the next plane April 26, 1997. After a two year struggle with breast cancer she went peacefully at home among her family.
She was preceded by her mother, Madoline Virginia Zelle and is survived by her father, Edwin Harry Zelle; son, Jerome Zelle; brothers, Larry Keller, Robert Zelle, Kenneth Zelle; and sisters, Norma McCleskey, Cleora Potter, TI, Virginia Carolan, Elaine Amling, Dorothy Zelle and Dana Zelle.
Angelique was born in Lansing, MI on June 14, 1946. For the last 20 years she was the Director of Reevis Mountain School where she taught natural healing and self-discovery. Prior to Reevis, she was Director and teacher of Healing Waters in Safford, AZ.

ERWIN, James Alexander 'Tex', 89, a versatile screen actor, entertainer, rancher and horseman, died of cardiac arrest April 25, 1997 at home at Desert Manor in Tucson. Mr. Erwin was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and moved as a child with his family to California. He attended the Redwood Academy in Eureka and settled in Southern Humboldt County, where he developed the Circle E Ranch near Panther Gap. During World War II he worked as a civilian employee of the Navy in Alaska and later served in the U.S. Maritime Service aboard the U.S.S. San Juan Hill, a tanker that hauled airplane fuel from South America to the Northern Mariana Islands. After WWII he resumed ranching and was a wool buyer for the California Woolen Mills in Eureka. He was a skilled stone mason, building unique fireplaces throughout northwestern California. During the 1950s and 1960s he served as an inspector for the California State Department of Agriculture, while developing adjunct careers as an owner, breeded, and trainer of race horses and as a screen actor and entertainer. He appeared regularly on television as a performer on a Sacramento, California, country-western music program. Many of his screen credits include motion pictures filmed in Old Tucson. He enjoyed painting Arizona landscape and wildlife scenes and operated an art gallery in Tucson during the 1960s. He sang and played violin professionally and recreationally. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the National Rifle Association, the Tucson Elks Club, and the Tucson Rod and Gun Club, where he was active until a few years ago. He was preceeded in death by two brothers and a sister, as well as his first wife, Shirley McCann Erwin, and his second wife, longtime Tucson resident and University of Arizona employee, Elizabeth McMahon Erwin, who died in 1995. Survivors include a sister, Gladys Erwin Scholes, 92, of Iligdon, Alabama; three children, Shriley Rebecca Erwin Glazener, Blackburg, Virginia; Jay A. Erwin, Jr., of Marsing, Idaho; and Joseph M. Erwin of Needmore, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.
