Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial Service and Funeral will be held in New Jersey. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd (at Speedway).

Steve Shaw and Rev. Keith Kruger officiating. Interment to follow at Desert Vista Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. GEORGE, Harold M. Jr., 65, of Tucson, died April 18, 1997. Father of Diana R.(Randy) Purdy, Kathryn A. (Stephen) Giuffre, Michael R. (Jeanne) George, Barbara L. George, all of Tucson, Sandra J. Albrechtson of Utah, Christina L. George of Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren. Brother of Richard George of Texas. GUNNELL, Frank E., 92, retired Educator, of Tucson, died April 16, 1997. Preceded in death by his wife on March 12, 1995. Survivors include son, Donald Gunnell; granddaughter, Merrie Gunnell; grandson, Donald Robert Gunnell, all of Flagstaff; brother-in-law, James Frame of Tucson. Memorial will be at Carousel Ranch Mobile Home Park Rec Hall, 4315 N Flowing Wells, Wednesday, April 23, 1997 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Mortin Abraham officiating. HARLING, Anna M., 88, of Tucson, died April 19, 1997. She was born in Hungary and came to the United States as a young lady. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, and her daughter, Ellen Tiefel. She had been a Tucson resident for many years. Anna was a committed Christian and a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of Gof for 25 years. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Martha Walk; and four nephews. She will be greatly missed. Friends may call at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Monday, April 21, 1997 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, Tuesday, April 22 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

MUDGE, Billie F., 80, of Tucson, Arizona, died April 19, 1997. Survived by loving wife, Ethel Mudge; son, Gary (Laura) of Las Vegas; one sister, Salome (Laurence) Wentzlaff of Henderson, MN; two brothers, Stewart (Mildred) of Gresham, OR; James (Phyllis) of Rapid City, SD; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one stepdaughter, Micky Work of New Landon, NH; two step grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by one son, Curtis; first wife, Ione Mudge; three brothers, Roxie, Donald and Richard. Affiliations, Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 540l S. Park Ave. Visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Ronald McDonald House. MURRAY, Nellie G., 88, died April 19, 1997. Wife of William H. of Tucson. Mother of Kathryne M. (Joseph) Johndrow of Rio Rico, Thomas W. (Nancy) Murray of Tucson. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. A Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 1997 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft with interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

PINTER, Eve G., 90, of Oceano, CA, died March 30, 1997 at a Santa Maria hospital. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Ms. Pinter was born February 8, 1907 in West Mineral, KS. She came to the Oceano area seven years ago from Tucson, AZ. to be with her sister. She was a career women and worked for Hubbard Mills for 40 years. She was an active member of the Dale Carnegie in IL. and a member of Springville, IL. Business and Professional Club. Ms. Pinter is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jerry Buber of Oceano; and a brother, John Pinter of IL. and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Lady Family Mortuary of Arroyo Grande.

SHEPARD, Jack R., 83, died April 15, 1997. Father of Gary (Betty) Shepard of KY, Russell (Daphene) Paxton of GA, Nancy Reed of KY, Doug Shepard of KY, Judy Heckenkamp of KY, and Jean Wilson of KS. Good friends, Anita Burkhart and Paul Patch, and numerous grandchildren also survive. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers contributions to the hospice of your choice would be appreciated.

BELVILLE, Clarence, born in McComb, Illinois on February 18, 1936, had ended a seven year battle with emphysema on April 16th 1997. He was a resident of Arizona for 17 years in which he raced cars at Corona Raceway in the early 80's, owned and operated A & B Auto Salvage for six years and Benson Motors in Benson for two years. He will be sorely missed by his companion of 18 years, Betty Castes; his step children, Roy Adams, Terry Adams and Tim Megan; six step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and many friends. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, April 21st at 3:00 at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

CHAMBERS, Flora Lillian, born July 18, 1910, Kit Carson, Colorado, died April 16, 1997, Havre, Montana. Arizona accomplishments/affiliations: Owned and operated A&W Root Beer stand, Sierra Vista, approximately 10 years, and worked for new owner (her son) next 10 years, till 1979. Member of Ruth Rebekah Lodge #13 and 22nd Street Baptist Church till moving to Havre to live with her daughter in 1990. Survived by her four children, Ardelle Hurlburt of Havre, MT, Robert (Eleanor) Chambers, Pleasant Hill, CA, Col. (USAF Ret.) Eldon (Marty) Chambers, Riverside, CA and Milton (Molly) Chambers, Tucson, AZ and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

CHANDLER, Shirley, 68, of Tucson, Arizona, died April 17, 1997. Survived by three sons, Frank O. Gaumer (Lupe), Steven R. Gaumer (Diane), William E. Chandler (Sheri); grandchildren, Jennifer, Frankie, Kathleen, Billy, Corky and Chas David. Preceded in death by husband, William J. Chandler. There will be a memorial service Tuesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Inurnment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

LEBSACK, Reuben D., 90, died April 7, 1997 in Tucson, AZ. He is preceded in death by wife, Alvina (Reider). He is survived by son, Jon R. Lebsack, MI; daughters, Maryann A. Jackson, IN, Virginia Mae Perkins, WI; sisters, M. Magdolene Novak, NE, Charlotte Ruth Dingman, CA; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. April 19, 1997 at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel, with Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, IN. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, IN. Arrangements by Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, IN.

LOPEZ, Jesus E., age 56, a lifetime resident of Tucson, passed away April 16, 1997. Born February 1, 1941. Survived by his wife of 24 years, Armida; daughters, Monica Sanchez and Roxanne Lopez; son, Jesus H. Lopez; granddaughter, Reina Sanchez; sisters, Delia Sanchez, Dolores Lopez, Martha Granillo and Rita Contreras; brother, Ron Lopez; mother-in-law, Maria de Carmen Duarte. A visitation will be Sunday, April 20, 1997 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church.

MECHERLE, Marcella N., 87, died April 16, 1997. She has been a Tucson resident since 1953. Survived by son, G. Robert Mecherle; grandchildren, Dr. G. Stephen Mecherle, Gregg R. (Barbie) Mecherle and Cindy (Mike) Merrimac; five great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Ermond Mecherle and her sister, Margaret Hatch; brother, John P. Noonan. She was a certified Braillest and had done volunteer work for many years for Books for the Blind Inc. of Tucson. She is a member of Whose Who in Southern Arizona and the Tucson Country Club. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Entombment will be in Bloomington, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 1636 N. Swan Rd. Tucson, AZ 85712 or the charity of your choice.

MORENO, Hector I., 34, of Tucson, passed away April 16, 1997. Survived by wife, Ninette Moreno; parents, Hector A. and Cruz M. Moreno; father and mother-in-law, Saturino H. and Martha Santa Cruz; daughters, Victoria, Karina Moreno; sisters, Diana (Roger) McDowell; brother, Jose (Yadira) Moreno. Mr. Moreno was an employee of Wheels and Tires Plus. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Tuesday, April 22, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 South Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Lopez; stepdaughters, Charlotte Sheehan, Norma Bertrand, Loretta Blinn; sons, Carlos Caballero, Gilbert Caballero; sisters, Anita Loher, Celia McAlpin; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on April 18, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 South Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to Carondelet Hospice. Rose inspired love. She taught us to be 'good and kind and generous, especially with the elderly, the sick and the poor.' She taught us to be accepting of differences; to know and love the person within, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a friend to the community. She was a role model. COHEN, Cindi R., 37, left us for a new journey on April 14, 1997. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Cindi leaves behind a legacy of love. Survived by her mother, Roberta Cohen; father, Steve Cohen; brothers, Stuart (Charlotte) and Jeff (Michele); grandmother, Dorothy Goldin; aunts, Carole McRoberts and Sara Fritz; and two shining stars in her life, niece, Jordan and nephew, Tyler; plus her cousins and friends. She will be missed. Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 1997 at 3:00 p.m., viewing at 2:00 p.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, 3015 N. Oracle Rd. DOOLEN, Ruth E., 96, died April 14, 1997 in Tucson. Formerly of Champaign, IL. Loving mother of Shirley D. Schmerbeck of Tucson; loving grandmother of Cindy (Pete) Fonner of IL, Dan (Lynn) Doolen of IL, Janette (Herb) Taylor of Tucson, David (Elaine) Schmerbeck of Phoenix, Pamela (Steve) Waitkus of Tucson and Lisa (Mark) Hayworth of OH; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde B. Doolen and sons, Max Doolen and Danny Doolen. Memorial Service, 3 00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Rev. Howard Higgins officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Gordon; daughters, Ginger Ann (Paul) Law and Cindy Lou (Bernard) Resnick; son, Larry Lee (Evelyn) Gordon, Sr.; grandchildren, Larry Lee Gordon, Jr., David, Michael and Sarah Resnick, Leslie Leonard, Christopher, Jerra and Brandy Law; great-grandchildren, Alison, Denise, Jessica, Gordon and Lauren Bratcher, Jai Cee Law and Jimmy Corrales; sister, Pauline Swoverland.
