McBRIDE, Robert K., 42 died April 14, 1997. Son of Bruce and Velda McBride; brother of Layne Logan of Tucson, Steven McBride of Davis, CA and Leora Jo McBride of Lay, CO; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was an Elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bonanza Ward. Service, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 1997 at Bonanza Ward, 700 N. Bonanza. Burial in LDS Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the Relief Society Room of the church. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

PONTICEL, Gaeton, 91, died April 15, 1997. Dad is now with the Lord and his 'honeybunch', who preceded him in death October 1996. Before his retirement he was a Shop Supervisor in a structural steel corporation in PA. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a special part of his life and he love being with them and helping them. His children, Flora Grasak, Verner Ponticel, Carol Alimena, Joanne Guyaux; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild will remember him with love. RAYMER, Kathryn, , died April 16, 1997. Will be greatly missed by daughter, Ginny Ralston; step-daughter, Mary Lou Shepperd and family of OH; grandsons, Tom (Mary) Dickinson of Tucson; and Tim (Noreen) Ralston of MN; great-grandchildren, Emily Kathryn Dickinson Ralston, and Jeremy and Kali Marie Ralston; sister, Lillian Leeper; three nieces and their families. Her life will be celebrated at a service at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church on Roller Coaster Road at 4:30 p.m. on Friday April 18. Visitation 4:00 p.m. at the Church.

RIGGENBACH, Neil Martin, M.D. July 26, 1934 April 12, 1997. A fine, intelligent, honest, honorable man who worked hard all his life, Neil, 62, died after a brief hospitalization at Columbia El Dorado Hospital of smoking-related illness. Neil, born in Alamosa, CO, graduated from the University of CO School of Medicine. He is survived by his wife, Jorga, and son, Martin. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Tanque Verde Baptist Church, 2700 N. Tanque Verde Loop Rd.

SAVEY, Lillian F., 85, of Tucson, passed away April 14, 1997. She is survived by son, Raymond Savey; daughters, Jeanne Bradford, Marilyn Milonas and Carol Campo; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond Savey Sr. and daughter, Lillian E. Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 1997 at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd & Swan, with Rev. Melissa Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the following: Shriners Children’s Hospital, 450 S. TURNER, Palma 'Lois' age 73, a 37 year resident of Tucson, passed away April 15, 1997. Born January 14, 1924 in Lamasco, Texas. A homemaker and a pre-school teacher, Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband of 57 years, William R. Turner; daughter, Jean (Joe) Santa Cruz; son, Bill (Tamera) Turner; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; niece, Peggy Ann Eastwood. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 1997 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. A Cryptside service will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Bill Turner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Womens Auxiliary.

BEER, Dr. William L., 79, of Tucson, died Sunday, July 27, 1997. He was born July 10, 1918 in Roanoke, IL. He married Ruth E. Parks, June 27, 1942. She preceded him in death, May 23, 1986. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Franklin, South Dakota, Joanne Davison of Illinois, Margie Rice of Chandler, AZ; companion, Edelmira A. Silva; two brothers, three sisters and five grandchildren. William served as a pilot instructor in WWII as a Captain. He received a degree in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 1948, graduating with highest distinction. For 30 years he was a country veterinarian in Aledo, IL. He was active in many civic organizations including Alderman and Mayor. In 1978, he and his wife retired to Tucson where he did volunteer work at TMC and was a docent at Reid Park Zoo. He was a member of Westerners International and First United Methodist Church where his Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

Mabel Grace Edmiston, 80, of Tucson, passed away July 29, 1997 in Tucson. Preceded in death by her son, John David Edmiston. Survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, John B. Edmiston and one sister, Sue Cragwick and her family in Montana. After graduating from East Washington in Pennsylvania she moved to Arizona. She was a charter member of American Pharmaceutical Association Auxiliary and active in their charitable projects and the scholarship program at the University of Arizona for Pharmacy Students. She was a member of Pueblo Junior Women’s Club and continued as a member of the Emeritus Group. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with Dr. Lee Scott officiating. Interment to follow at Tucson Memorial Park East Lawn. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

FRANCISCO, Dorothy C., age 81, of Fresnal, AZ, died July 25, 1997. Survivors include: daughters, Ruby Lopez and Susan Lopez; four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the family home of Mrs. Francisco, Friday, August 1, 1997 at 6:00 p.m. Graveside will be at Fresnal Village Cemetery, Saturday, August 2, 1997 at 6:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fresnal Cemetery. Tony L. Gerbais, 80, passed away July 27, 1997. Survived by wife of 57 years, Emma R. Gerbais; sons, Tony L. Gerbais, Jr. and Michael (Roberta) Gerbais; daughters, Mary (William) Celaya, Yolanda (Fred) Contreras and E. C. (Ray) Hannahs; brother, Ralph (Hope) Gerbais of La Mesa, CA; sisters, Cora (Fred) Martinez of Barstow, CA, Vickie (Albert) Orosco, Annie Valdez and Alice Romero, all of Tucson; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Mookie. Mr. Gerbais retired from the Lucky Food stores, after 29 years, as a Produce Manager. Visitation Thursday, July 31 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., with Funeral Service at 9:00 a.m. Friday.Burial to follow at South Lawn Cemetery. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and those who knew him. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s ICU and Vencor Hospital for their services and support.

JACOBS, E. A. 'Lee', 93, of Tucson, passed away July 25, 1997. Survived by daughter, Mary Lee (Joel) Valdez; sons, Walter (Lilia), Lionel (Stella), Ben (Mary Ann) Jacobs; sisters, Eva Arriaga, Elvira Amado, Isola Martinez, Leticia Fuentes; brothers, Alfonso and Benjamin Jacobs. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at St.Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Mr. Jacobs was a member of the pioneer Jacobs and Carrillo families. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the St. Augustine Cathedral Maintenance fund. LITVIN, Irving, 86, of Tucson, passed away, July 28, 1997. Mr. Litvin was a resident of Tucson for 45 years. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El and the Lions Club. He was also a volunteer for the City of Hope. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lillian; daughters, Joyce and her husband, Doug Black, Gloria and her husband, Larren Yelton; son, Marshall Litvin; granddaughter, April and her husband, Noel Earls; great-grandson, Michael Earls. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 1997 at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd & Swan, with Rabbi Ronald officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Emanu-El Memorial Park in the Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to the Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. MARTONE, Marjorie J., 75, died July 28, 1997. Wife of John R. Martone of Tucson; mother of Kathy (Charles) Woolsey of Loveland, CO and James V. (Diane) Martone of Arlington, TX; sister of Ralph Stecker, Helen Valentine, Ruth Wynnyk, all of North Carolina and Betty Murphy of Minnesota; sister-in-law of Joseph (Irene) of Arizona, Carol Martone of New York and Helena Martone of Kentucky. Also survived by life long friends Martha and Duane Titus and five grandchildren. Memorial Mass 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 1 at St. Odilia’s Catholic Church, 7570 N. VALDIVIA, Jose R. 'Joe', 36, of Tucson, passed away July 28, 1997. Survived by wife, Norma Valdivia; parents, Elodia and Ramon Valdivia; sisters, Evelyn Saenz, Germina Saenz and Leticia Valdivia; brothers, Mauro (Cathy) Peralta, Mario Valdivia, Rene (Irene) Valdivia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Clarence H. Wooten, Sr. 'Howard', born October 6, 1912, left this world peacefully on July 27, 1997. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Wooten and Grace Shackleford-Wooten. He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Elaine (Tiff) Wooten and daughters, Joan Cannon, Carol (Lanny) Webb, C. Howard (Liela) Wooten, Jr.; six grandchildren, Glen (Danielle) Cannon, Tracey (Paul) Conway, Lisa (Randy) Atteberry, Scott Webb, Ryan Webb and Joel Webb. Also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, Jeremy North, Krista Conway, Kyle Conway, Kaitlyn Conway, Charles Cannon, Kendall Cannon, Josh Atteberry, Austin Atteberry, Morgan Atteberry, Scott Webb, Jr., Nicole Webb, Jacob Webb. Mr. Wooten was known in the automotive community both in his hometown of Jacksonville, IL and Tucson as owner of Howard’s Auto Service. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Scottish Rite and Marion McDaniel Lodge. Memorial Service will be Thursday, July 31, 1997 at 4:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. ZUCKERMAN, Lois B., 90, of Tucson and formerly of Chicago, died July 29, 1997.Survived by husband, Arnold of Tucson; daughter, Judi Schweitzer of New Port Beach, CA; brother, Lawrence (Rosalyn) Bogorad of Lexiton, MA. BRANDLE, Martin Edward, 34, died Monday, July 28, 1997. Survived by his wife, Nancy A. Brandle; parents, Ralph and Kathleen Brandle; sister, Deborah Marie Walker; nephew, Cody Glenn Walker; paternal grandmother, Ruth Brandle and maternal grandmother, Mariam Martin. Martin was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy serving with the U.S. Navy 10 years. Member of the Morgan-McDermott American Legion Post, Naval Academy Alumni, Pima Air Museum.
