A homemaker, she was born Aug. 11, 1918, in Arkansas.
Memorial services will be held at a later time. Johnson Mortuary is in charge of private cremation.

Sherry Alene Johnson, of Yuma, died July 26, 2002, at Yuma Regional Medical Center at age 56.
A business owner, she was born Aug. 1, 1945, in Paris, Ark.
Visitation will take place Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kammann Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Morningside Baptist Church. Burial will be in Paris, Ark. Kammann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Fred Rogers
Fred Rogers, 86, died April 3, 2002, at his Yuma home.
Born April 19, 1915, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, he was the retired owner-operator of a plumbing company.
Private services were held, followed by cremation. Sunset Vista Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory handled local arrangements.
Crisanto Martinez
Crisanto Martinez, 63, died April 5, 2002, at his Yuma home.
Born Oct. 25, 1938, in Guanajuato, Mexico, he was a farm laborer.
Julian Orville Cannon, of Yuma, died April 9, 2002, at Life Care Center of Yuma at age 92.
Born Jan. 16, 1910, in Weatherford, Texas, he was a self-employed farmer.
No services are planned. Yuma Mortuary & Crematory is handling cremation.
Octavia R. “Daisy” Pisano
Daisy Pisano 97, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2002 in Yuma, AZ. She was born on March 15, 1905 in Philadelphia, PA.
Daisy is survived by her son: A.J. Pisano, of Yuma, AZ; and daughter: Elizabeth Richardson, of Lynchburg, VA.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be on Thursday, April 11, 2002 from 5-8pm at Kammann Mortuary. Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 10:30am at the St. John Neumann Church.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be sent to Yuma Catholic High School.
John V. Chavez
John V. Chavez, 79, died on April 6, 2002 of respiratory failure. John was a retired Carpenter and MCAS Civil Service Worker. John was a WW II Veteran in the Army Air Corps.
John was born in Phoenix on January 4, 1923 and spent his first nine years in the mining town of Bisbee, Arizona. The family moved to Yuma in 1932.
John is survived by his wife, Lupe; children, Norma Moreno, Lydia Flores, Sylvia Metoyer, Oscar Chavez, John Chavez, Ernesto Chavez, Eduardo Chavez; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry, Jesus, Nolbert and Eduardo Chavez and sister, Socorro Rosales.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Manuel and Rosa Chavez; sisters, Rosie Pintor and Dolores Carrillo and brothers, Alex Chavez and Jack Chavez.
A wake will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM. The funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Thursday morning at 9:00 AM Father John Arnold will officiate.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Virginia Mae Meres, 73, of Yuma died April 6, 2002, at her residence.
A former butcher at a packing house, she was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Taopi, Minn.
No services will be held. Cremation was handled by Yuma Mortuary & Crematory.

Ida Marian Fowler, 70, of Yuma died April 4, 2002, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
A retired hotel housekeeper, she was born May 12, 1931, in Wynnewood, Okla.
A memorial and funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Private cremation was by Johnson Mortuary.

A U.S. Marine stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, he was born Sept.. 4, 1979, in Watsonville, Calif.
A memorial service will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the MCAS Yuma Chapel.

A former secretary and bookkeeper for a private club, she was born June 26, 1913, in Spokane, Wash.

Leslie Robert Murray, 88, of Yuma, died July 19, 2002, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1913, in Altamont, Kan., he was a retired dairy farmer.
A visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson Mortuary chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson's, with intermenty following at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
