OSBORN, Walter E., 61, of Tucson and part time resident of Cholla Bay, Sonora, Mexico, died July 2, 1997. He was a member of the V.F.W., D.A.V. and the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Lois Osborn of Tucson; daughters, Michelle L. Patrick of Tucson and Violet Shirkey of Phoenix; son, Dean Osborn of Apache Junction, AZ; stepchildren, Mary R. Scott of Tucson and Robert E. Jones of California; sister, Eileen J. Valazques of California and eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with Mr. Jim Reynolds speaking. Interment Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.

ROMERO, Ruben P., 66, of Los Angeles, passed away June 30, 1997. Preceded in death by his father, Robert T. Romero and brother, Roy P. Romero. Survived by his mother, Josephine P. Ramirez; daughter, Rachael Del Real of California; son, Ruben Romero, Jr. of California; brother, Robert Romero of Tucson and four grandchildren. Mass will be offered on Saturday, July 5, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 South Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY.

SANDERS, Jesse M., Jr., 50, died June 26, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; sons, Jesse III and Peter; stepdaughter, Monica; and three grandchildren; mother, Norma Sanders; sisters, Janet (Paul) Lemmon of Wilmington, IL, Marilyn (Bill) Wood of Cleveland, OH and Susan (Ian) Palmer of Tucson; aunt, Martha Frame; father-in-law, Pete Perez; as well as many other relatives. Jesse had been a resident of Tucson for the past 37 years. According to his wishes, no services are being held.Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

WILSON, James Patrick, born August 4, 1946, died July 1, 1997. Survived by children, Lannette and James Jr.; grandchildren, mother, brother, sisters and nieces and nephews. Graveside Service Saturday, July 5 at 9:00 a.m. South Lawn Cemetery.

ATKINSON, Sadie T., 88, of Tucson, died June 30, 1997. Survived by her son, John H. (Barbara) Atkinson of Pomerene, AZ. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Atkinson in 1960. BENITEZ, Lupe C., 67, of Tucson, passed away June 30, 1997. Survived by husband, Fidel Benitez; son, Angel Benitez; sister, Lollie (Fernando) Benitez; brothers, Joe (Olga) Castillo; grandchildren, Angel Jr., Armando, Anthony, Adrian, Adam. CATHEY, Pearlie, age 97 years, of Tucson, passed June 29, 1997. Survived by son, Homer (Elena) Townsend, Sr., Tucson; daughter, Inez (Rev. Obie) McEwen, Tucson; 16 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 1997 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 2403 South Martin, with Rev. Obie McEwen officiating of the Travelers Baptist Church. DIMMITT, Alberta Minnie, 79, of Tucson, died Monday, June 30, 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Anita (Boyd) Baker; grandson, Zachary Baker; and sister, Bea (Alex) Alexander. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 1997 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with Chaplain Bill Killian of Tucson Medical Center officiating. Corie Ray Hall, God’s most precious gift and beloved son of Donald and Jamie Hall lost a courageous battle to Spinal Meningitis on Saturday, June 28, 1997. In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Courtnie; grandparents, John D. (Jean) Hall, Marilian (Larry) Conley; great-grandfather, James Kimmel; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, playmates and classmates. Corie was born on November 30, 1990 and had completed Kindergarten at Flowing Wells Centennial Elementary School. He was anxiously awaiting returning this year as a first grader. An avid cyclist he entered many bike competitions with his father and uncle. As a solo rider he competed in November '1996' El Tour de Tucson, and in March '1997' Tour of The Tucson Mountains. He finished 25 miles in November and 32 miles in the Tour of The Tucson Mountains. He was the youngest solo rider to ever finish either ride. He was an active member of the LDS 6th Ward. His loving ways, caring nature, terrific sense of humor and beautiful smile will live on in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you hug a child. Friends may call at LDS North Stake Center, 939 W. Chapala Dr., on Wednesday, July 2, 1997 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. Interment to follow in LDS Bingham Cemetery. JULIAN, Correll 'Joe', 78, of Tucson, died June 30, 1997. Survivors include: wife, Joy of Tucson; daughters, Jana Julian of Tucson, Anna (Tom) Stark of Tucson; son, Dan Stevble of Tucson; daughter, Cindy Julian of California; and six grandchildren. Mr. Julian has been a resident of Tucson since 1955, moving here from Illinois. He was owner and operator of Julian Custom Home Construction for 25 years. At Joe’s request there will not be any Memorial Service held. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

Reynaldo M. Leon, 69, went to heaven June 30, 1997. Born June 16, 1928 in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Survived by wife, Irene; children, Anna Marie (Rigo) Nava of Tucson, Sandra Ann (Tony) Campos of Tucson; brother, Hector (Gracie) Leon of Tucson; sister, Delia (Leonard) Telesco of Tucson; three grandchildren, Marc Anthony Nava, Eric Michael Nava and Amber Rae Campos; and many nieces and nephews. He was an Army Veteran and member of Marine Corps League. Mr. Leon was general manager of Gruenwald & Adams Jewelry and was annex coordinator for the City of Tucson up until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid golfer. Visitation Thursday, July 3 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft, with Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Allt officiating.

OLDHAM, Nannie Lee, 81, of Tucson, AZ, died June 30, 1997. Survived by sons, Bob Wood (Jean) of Santa Fe, NM, Frank Wood (Susie) of Kingman, AZ; daughter, Jo Beth Jayes (Jerry) of Sahuarita, AZ; four brothers, J.A. Miller, Fred Miller, Luther Miller and Buck Miller; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Herbert Oldham and son, Herby Oldham. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 1997 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Services will be held Thursday, July 3, 1997 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, with Bishop Thomas Elam.

WISSEN, Lillian Lucille, 75, died July 1, 1997. Mother of Jack W. Wissen, Jr. of Tucson; grandmother of Scott Wissen; sister of Walter Sauer of Tucson, June Wilkerson of Phoenix and Rosemarie Reynolds of Show Low. Memorial Service 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Joseph Kelly officiating.

BOLDT, Eileen, 78, died June 28, 1997 in Yuma, AZ. She was born in Sarnia, Ontario and was a long time resident of Tucson where she and her husband came for his health. She was also an active realtor for many years. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter. She is survived by one daughter, Anne Smith; and two granddaughters, Shannon and Regan Smith, all of Somerton, AZ. She will be buried in Sarnia. Remembrances may be made to your favorite animal charity.

EICHMEIER, Luella J., 74, died June 27, 1997. Mother of Jim Eichmeier of Colorado Springs, CO and Janet Morris of Denver, CO; sister of Edward Richter of Tucson; grandmother of Jamie Onate of Tucson and Stephanie Onate of Denver. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Luella will join her husband, Dale for interment at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. She was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. FLORES, Felipe M., 83, of Tucson, passed away June 28, 1997. Survived by daughters, Elva (Jesus) Torres, Agnes (Roy) McKinney; sons, Robert (Karen) Flores, Phillip (Nalani) Flores, Jr.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 1997 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY (North Chapel), 204 South Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Thursday, July 3, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. HOLDERBAUM, Amanda, 81, former owner of A & A Nursery in Tucson, went to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ, Thursday, June 26, 1997. Survived by daughters, Marlene Bachmann, Tucson and Alberta Schroder, Covina, CA; and numerous other relatives. Services, 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sonoita Bible Church. Burial in Black Oak Cemetery, Elgin. Arrangements by Hatfield Funeral Home, Sierra Vista.

IACCINO, Frances Y., 97, of Tucson, died June 27, 1997. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank. Survived by sons, Frank and Joe of Tucson; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Iaccino was employed by Tucson Unified School District working in food service at Tucson High School for many years. Services will be held in the chapel at Villa Maria Care Center, E. Grant at Columbus, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until Service time. Services are conducted by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. (327-6341).

MAGIERA, Robert James, age 63, of Tucson, AZ, died June 29, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Lorneen; stepchildren, Wayne Chandler, Karen Chandler, Ron Tusa and James Tusa; brothers, Gene and Phil Magiera. Mr. Magiera was a very active member of Kiwanis Club of the Desert in Tucson and was a member of the Retired Police Officers Association of California. Memorial Services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. (at Magee), Wednesday, July 2, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, July 3, 1997 in Glendora, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiwanis Club of the Desert Help-A-Kid Foundation or to Wright Flight, both may be mailed to P.O. Box 35322, Tucson, AZ 85740, in his memory.

QUILL, James Joseph, 79, died June 28, 1997. He was a native of Bisbee and taught school there for 33 years. Services will be held in Bisbee on Wednesday, July 2, with arrangements by Bisbee Funeral Home.
