JARVIS, Woodrow W., 83, passed away June 4, 1997. He is survived by Mary, his wife of 59 years. Also survived by sisters, Ruby Stice of Midland, TX, Prudence Newsom of Kirkland, WA, Lela Norton of Clarendon, TX and Margaret Ellis of Ft. Worth, TX. Also survived by daughter, Kay (Wiley) Murphy of Tucson; grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Sombert of Overland Park, KS, Wendy (Bill) Walsh of Tucson, Mark (Anna) Murphy of Portland, OR; and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lindsay Somberg, Hannah, Alison and Morgan Walsh and Liam Murphy. Mr. Jarvis was born July 6, 1913 in Munday, TX. He moved to Eloy, AZ to begin farming cotton in 1945. He served on the Eloy City Council and the Eloy Elementary School Board. He was also an active member of the Eloy Methodist Church. Mr. Jarvis was a pioneer farmer in Avra Valley in 1950 and moved to Tucson in 1961. He retired in 1982 after selling his farm to the City of Tucson. Visitation will be Sunday evening, June 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the ARIZONA MORTUARY, 7 E. MARTIN, Lillian Russell, 95 years, native Tucsonian, passed away June 3, 1997. She was the wife of the late City Manager and Superintendent of the Tucson Water Dept, Philip J. Martin, and the daughter of the Tucson Pioneer Thomas Clarkson and Mary Bourgeois Russell. In loving memory of Erik Shea Olbin-Lingel, whose soul soared to eternity following an unfortunate motorcycle accident May 28, 1997. Erik was born December 6, 1972 in Tucson, AZ, graduated from La Cueva High School, Albuquerque, NM in 1990 and attended New Mexico State University in 1991. From 1992 to 1996, Erik served in the United States Marine Corps, during which time he received the Overseas Deployment Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Battle 'E' Award for Combat Efficiency on a Naval Vessel, National Defense Medal, Certificate of Commendation for Outstanding Performance of Duty while at Squad Leaders School, three Meritorious Masts for Proficiency of Duties, assigned NCO of the Quarter for Alpha Co. 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and was awarded, by the President of the United States of America, the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for Heroism while serving as a scout 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Erik overcame a fractured neck while skydiving, which inspired him to pursue a career in Medicine. Erik then entered Pima Community College in 1996 and received Certificate of Honors admission to the University of Arizona, April 1997, with the goal of becoming a Neurosurgeon. Erik worked part time at Price CostCo, performed volunteer work at El Dorado Hospital and was volunteering and studying in the NeuroSurgical Research Center at the University of Arizona Medical Center. Erik enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Erik loved the outdoors and spent leisure time boating, skiing, scuba diving, golfing, biking, hiking and traveling. Erik possessed a contagious smile and genuine love and compassion for all people, he constantly strove to bring out the best in himself, his family and friends. Erik is survived by his beloved parents, Patricia and Michael Olbin, Albuquerque, NM, Rick and Joyce Lingel, Tucson, AZ; grandparents, Mrs. Lyle E. Lingel, Mrs. Clifford Harestad, Mr. and Mrs. George Olbin, all of Tucson. Erik is also survived by numerous extended family members from throughout the United States. Erik is most dearly loved and his friendship, courage and leadership will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. SHARPE, Francisco Javier, age 42, lover of music, beer and most of all life, died in peace on June 4, 1997 after fighting with a 19 month battle with cancer. His love for life gave him the strength he needed to fight until his last hour. Francisco married Julia Ashworth on August 1, 1987. He is survived by his wife, Julia Ashworth-Sharpe; sons, Michael K. Sharpe, age 19 and Julian Francisco Sharpe, age 19 months, all of Tucson; his mother, Ernestina R. Sharpe of Nogales, Sonora Mexico; brother, Fernando Sharpe of San Manuel, AZ; sister, Ana-Elsa Sharpe, M.D. of Monterey, Mexico and brother, Flavio Sharpe of Mexico.
